The force of the blast is incredible. There cause may have been wrong, but no one should die like that. That takes a ton of force to rip of the conning tower
With the vis we had that day, you could really see the dimensions of the explosion hole. I think the captain was only 24 years old. Not much of a life and experience to grasp what was happening. It was an awe inspiring experience to dive this place.
@@underthesurface_blue I listened to the audio book that John Chatterton made about it and loved it. I was drawn to it because I love anything that is WWII German
Thanks for the kind comment! Viz was exceptionally good that day. Richie Kohler commented on facebook that he has only seen it like that twice in over 30 years!
Absolutely spectacular footage but the Music Choice makes it almost impossible to watch. If love to see this with something else soft and not distracting
So what was your mix for that dive. I assume 18/45 or something more hypoxic. And you used a rebreather? Which one? I am getting a Cho2ptima in July and diving this wreck is definitely on my bucket list.
Good guess, it was a 11/48. I don't need more oxygen content for the Dil. On that dive, I had my KISS Classic with me. Make's it easier on a boat. But we were diving a ChOptima and a Liberty Sidemount in Eagle's Nest. Have a look here: th-cam.com/video/K3YlzRkkl1Q/w-d-xo.html Both are awesome units! Have fun with the Choptima!
@@underthesurface_blue I definitely will read that one also. The funny thing is John Chatterton trained me in Advanced Wreck, and I’m just now getting to reading the books.
Re-reading Shadow Divers, cool to see people still dive this wreck!
Shadow divers was an excellent book. They did so much research on it to prove it’s identity.
The book is an awesome read. Seeing the explosion area and what they had to struggle through on every dive really put it into perspective!
Incredible to see the wreck with conditions like that! Thank you for sharing!
Nice find
Can you even see a great white shark?) Fantastic!
thanks! You can spot the Hammerhead in the middle of the video!

One on my ever increasing list. Bit tricky for a Brit to do though. Weather lottery..
Geiler Shyce! Da bekommt man wieder richtig Lust, ins Wasser zu springen...
Altmetall, 75 Jahre gereift 🙂
Wobei eine Wand daneben auch toll wäre!
how the fuck does this not have more views this is amazing footage
Thanks for the kind comment!

Yes a good book

I would agree that music is a very personal choice. I prefer to hear nothing at all while diving 😀

What light head is that?
It's a Dive Rite EX35 with a video diffusor on/off in some shots.
@@underthesurface_blue it has a great beam pattern
@@ChrisShaferKTM Agreed. A 6 degree beam for when the vis goes down and still flexible enough for shooting video.
Reading Shadow Divers now.
Enjoy! If you like, I´d recommend The Last Dive next.

Great footage, but please lose the music
Yes.
Look for hitlers lost sub on youtube , amazing ……….
No cod or hake wow. The bogans found that i think
More like a coke bottle and bag of chips sadly.
This video is too jerkey
It's a head mounted camera. About the only way to get the footage with that much equipment and a high flow environment.
Looks like a pile of rusty junk.
70+ years of salt water isn't kind to metal just lying around.
