    Saw Paul and his band at his birthday bash maybe a year or two ago. Every song he sang was originally a Chiswick 45's. At the outset he said he tried to collect every Chiswick single but he still didn't have all of them. How's that for an unusual show?

    The tri-state area scene just got better & better during the 80’s & 90’s. NY, NJ, CT & MASS had some amazing underground talent. The scene back then was amazing. 👍 Bad 🧠 at CB’s was dope AF…can’t beat that live energy in a show. DC had a great scene and when they came up to CBGB’s it got 🥜. It was the gen X way of standing up to the system.

    As much as I love all of these guys and their bands, it would have been cool to have some of the first generation guys up there: Jimmy G, Roger Miret, John Watson, Harley, Ron Rancid, etc.

    " Fugazi fucking sucks" Finally! Somebody said it. The only reason anybody even listened to em was cause we didn't have Minor Threat around anymore. Except that one cool song. You clowns know which one. Ha ha ha, by the way, I'm not posting on you tube. I'm drowning. ..

    Maybe I am missing something and all due respect, but Sheer Terror has some songs crammed with a shit load of metal themselves. I love a lot of ST, but let's call it even here.

    • @bobdylan7202
      @bobdylan7202 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thforklift126 They had a Celtic Frost vibe to em but were still hardcore as fuck

    • @Thforklift126
      @Thforklift126 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right, they had a Celtic Frost vibe because CF were big influences so far as I understand it. Yeah, they are/were and always be a hardcore band, but pretending metal was not an ingredient in what they did, especially the late 80's ST would be hilarious.

    • @bobdylan7202
      @bobdylan7202 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thforklift126
      See, I don't understand why some of the hardcore guys shit talked on metal

    • @Thforklift126
      @Thforklift126 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Me neither. And that's the point. Same thing with Biohazard. I came up in northern NJ during the early-mid 90's. EVERY HxC dude listened to Biohazard. Yet, talked shit about them, how they're fake, metal, posers, whatever. But then Biohazard would do a run of shows, say after State of the World Address, and put every major NYHC/DMS band on the bill. And plenty of bands, even from PA, took a lot from that particular style.
      What's wrong with citing metal as an influence when it is painfully obvious it's there? The NYHC book covers this actually very well.

      See I'm only 20 so I only have a slight idea of what the perception was like back in the 80s-90s with hardcore kids and metal kids. However I too love Biohazard a lot! One of my favorite thrash bands, loved their hardcore vibe to it. And I enjoy leeway and crumbsuckers too ya know?
      I just thought it was pointless to hate metal like especially with Agnostic Front going crossover on liberty and justice, and cause for alarm. Man wish I coulda been around I missed out.

    Paul bearer talking about how much he hates metal yet his band was built around the Celtic Frost/Hellhammer sound. Hardcore has always been the leading genre in Egos, its fucking ridiculous haha

    • @igman037

    I've been in the Skinhead Hardcore Scene for over 20 years of my life, but one thing i always disliked was the "manly aggressive" lifestyle...Not at all saying the skinhead scene is full off prejudice, BUT it is kinda infiltrated AND we need to purge them from existence!!!!
