Its true. There are couple of VFX and motion capture studios around Bangalore, Mumbai, Trivandrum, Gurgaon etc which were part of Hollywood blockbusters like Lionking, Life of Pie etc. Technicolor has a huge office in Bangalore FYI.
Yes. Because India is known for cheap labor. Studios take advantage of that part and it's a sad thing that India only does rotoscope, tracking and matchmoving in majority instead of CGI in Hollywood. Redchilles' CGI is impressive than lot of studios in the world considering the budget.
Red Chillies vfx is really good at what they do. Every frame in Fan and more so in Zero is a work of art from a vfx standpoint. It's top notch and not even glaring to the viewers. I'm absolutely devastated that this movie didn't get the recognition it deserves.
