All government spending should be audited but the government has reduced the budget of the Auditors office, despite massive increases in spending.

So true, EVERY publically funded NGO or business MUST have as part of its requirements an independent annual audit available 'immediately ' to the public. The same for ALL PUBLIC SERVANTS and POLITICIANS earning over $200k.

Black Corporations well funded and crumbs hitting the ground start auditing the black corporations and having them listen to Aboriginal people at local level as to needs instead of an Art Gallery when their issue is local water is poison. The area that this particular audit is over I personally know of an employee on $160 per hour replacing a light fitting with a $20 fitting 15 mins including travel. He saw his bosses invoice to the black corporation $2200 and challenged his boss for extortion boss told him that this is the way that it worked between the corporation and him because if they didn't spend enough they could not get an increase in funding the next year. (cosy arrangement) Seeing it for what it was he quit went against his ethics. Audit them all.

I am Aboriginal and am sick of those who are cheating the system while those like me who try to do the right thing are being turned on for speaking up, which i am not losing sleep over, i will keep being a thorn in their side! I voted NO too, so it is not all of us only those who are sitting on the BS wagon with albanese

Companies and individuals are subject to financial audits all the time. When we, the Australian taxpayers, sacrifice $40 billion dollars each year to Indigenous programs yet we are told the gaps are widening, Indigenous education standards and health are still apparently falling way below that of white Australians, we must investigate the cause of these failures. Throwing more money at problem will not solve it. Obviously, we are talking about finding out where the gravy train stops.
