BABE WAKE UP
BABE please don’t leave me yet!!! You have to watch the new 8bit big band video!!!!!!
GET UP GET OUT THERE
Babe stay asleep i want this for myself
I'm sorry sir... she's gone...
@@joshuanigpuawszik8889 noooooo!!!!!
The Persona 5 arrangements are INCREDIBLE!!!!!! Man this whole album is a one-stop all expenses paid ticket to smile town BABY!
That arrangement of Pollyanna is TOP TIER! That will be on repeat for days (As will the entire album)!
It's sooo good
That version of beneath the mask is phenomenal. 8 bit big band never disappoints whoever arranges these pieces are geniuses
They have a knack for finding the perfect singers to accompany their music as well, it’s a match made in heaven 😮💨
Charlie Rosen is the mastermind behind it all. He arranges basically everything for them
Yep that would be me haha Charlie here :) I do everything EXCEPT I have to shout out Button Masher who did the initial arrangement of Last Surprise which I expanded on by adding an intro and a solo section to the over all form, but 99% of the arranging/chord ideas are all him and then I orchestrated it for the live instruments vs his chiptune instruments (some of which I included in the mix too to honor his vibe)@@TheSteelDialga
@@The8BitBigBand I can hear Jill Scott’s A Long Walk in this arrangement!
I Wanna Take You For A Ride blew my expectations out of the WATER ! it Sounds like such a Tower of Power tribute, but with amazing original video gamey lyrics.
you all have outdone yourselves once again. keep up the phenomenal work!
Its absolutely has to be TOP inspired, that bar of horn hits is note for note, rest for rest!
@@isaacjensen1627 Glad people are shouting out the direct influence of that song. Now I have a new group to listen to, cuz I need more of the vibes of Take You For a Ride
@@thetoongrump9801 what is hip? Is the song from them I believe I was thinking of btw!
@@isaacjensen1627 You got it! 👍🏼 I heard it and had to look in the comments to make sure I wasn't the only one lol
Absolute perfection from beginning to end! That stretch from Sonic R to the MvC2 character select to POLLYANNA was mind-melting! Incredible work!!!
Take You for a Ride is amazing!!! 🤩 (I assume Charlie wrote the lyrics? He’s amazing.) 8BBB is my favourite band and they’ve done it again! 😍
I did not! Clyde Lawrence of the band “Lawrence” did, I asked them to help flesh out the lyrics cuz their band’s songs are so great, and then I took their additional music and arranged it for the band :)
You’re still amazing!!! 🤩
I thought I was going to like this album, but when Pollyanna hit, omg, I'm head over heels in love.
"I Wanna Take You For a Ride" hit me on a level I'd never even imagined...that bass!
Holy crap that "I wanna take you for a ride" is insane! Great job fleshing that out from such a short loop!
Pollyanna sung as gospel/soul is GENIUS
Wow. The flourishes, hits, runs, etc in can you feel the sunshine are thrillingly theatrical and such a fabulous contrast to the vocals 👌
YEEEEEEEAAAAAAahhh
Haha the "What is Hip" quote in "I wanna take you for a ride" is great!
I knew I recognized ToP throughout that arrangement!
It has some soul vaccination vibes as well! Awesome arrangement
"I wanna take you for a ride" - I did a double take while in another tab. So funny hearing that song covered.
I'm in love with mvc2 song!
Hearing the intro of "Last Surprise" into the song itself literally made me tear up! It is sooooo good! All the good memories of the game immediately flooded my mind! ❤
I listened to Pollyanna probably hundreds of times after it dropped on your channel, and it still hits just as hard today.
This whole album is full of so much joy and talent, I love it.
Been waiting to add Pollyanna to my Spotify playlist forever
The GROOVE in I Wanna Take You for a Ride, and those vocalists FUCKIN KILL IT. HELL YEAH
Shoutout to all the tower of power lines running through " I wanna take you for a ride"
Tifa's theme with a jazz orchestra is so beautiful. Such a great arrangement.
The test of a great tune is how good it sounds in other styles. Love this AND the contrasting lofi version by The Consouls.
Dude the male singer on I wanna take you for a ride literally sounds like Ray Charles and Huey Lewis combined and it’s amazing
i owe so much to this band, all of this music is what got me through my freshman year during covid and ever since then ive been keeping up with this amazing band and it never fails to keep me at the edge of my seat wanting more, thank you so much to all of these amazing players and thank you charlie for all you've done for me and all the others who embrace and cherish your music.
So happy you’re enjoying the music so much!! Thanks for listening!!
This entire album is phenomenal, but I Wanna Take You For a Ride is legit one of the coolest soundest things y'all have ever done. I'm stunned at how finely crafted an original song you made out of an absurdly short loop like that.
YES! i've been wating so long for you guys to release a studio quality version of your rendition of Can You Feel The Sunshine.
Every song is just absolutely phenomenal!!!! The new vocals, the vibe of the album... it's just a GAME CHANGER!!!
This album is wonderful from start to finish! A great addition to the great songbook of video game music! Pollyanna is a fantastic arrangement, and definitely a new favorite of the whole discography! Favorite track: Pollyanna (From Earthbound/Mother) ft. Alan H. Green.
Was expecting "Can you feel the Sunshine" to be my favorite but that title ended up going to "Beneath the Mask." I could listen to this album for hours everyone did such an incredible job.
I have been waiting for this arrangement of Can You Feel The Sunshine? for ages 😭😭😭😭
Please performance some of these piece in Berklee Performance Center!!! I’ve already bought the ticket in the middle of the first row!!! You’re my hero Charlie!!!
Wooo! Already bought it from Bandcamp! Thanks guys, and keep 'em coming!
And if you ever make it out to Utah for a concert, my Saturdays are open and I'd love to attend!
Loved hearing all the music influences. My favorites were Take You For A Ride - with the Tower of Power Funk. And Song of Storms - with a Wayne Shorter/John Coltrane mash up. Fantastic all around! 🙌
Yeah Take you for a ride has a lot of soul vaccination vibes! Awesome as hell!!!
I haven't listened to much Persona music so I don't know if it's originally there, but did you incorporate the lick?! @27:02
Anyway, I'm SO excited for this!! Not only for the releases of Pollyanna and Can You Feel the Sunshine, but bringing Benny back for a third Portal song? I love it!
Man yall wrote the rest of the MvC2 song? Pretty fucking sweet. This whole album is banger after banger, incredible work yall!
I'm including Polyanna in my wedding playlist. This version makes me so emotional I could cry bro
YESSS! THANK YOU!! I adore the Pollyanna cover so very much. I sing it all the time. So happy to get it on an album.
I love the emphasis on vocal tracks for this album! Absolutely a game changer!
Awesome job to everyone who worked on this. ABSOLUTELY LOVED the new version of "I Wanna Take you for a Ride." I hope you guys plan to drop it as a standalone too.
Hello, Lawrence??? Never though I’d see them here but I’m not complaining 😂
Lawrence on a track doing a Tower of Power homage feels really great, don't it?
Holy shit, "I Wanna Take You for a Ride" blew me out of the water! Love the Tower of Power reference!
Pretty... hip
Yeah, if I hadn't known better, I'd have said that was ToP. And just when I wrote that on Discord, the What is Hip reference hit! ^^
Take You For a Ride and Pollyanna will be on repeat for a long time.
I'm SO glad the Pollyanna cover is now on Spotify. A dream can come true indeed.
Whenever I hear your "Can you feel the sunshine?" it just makes me so happy and hyped even when I´m doing boring shit. Just awesome!
Excellent work as always, Keep doing your best 8BBB!
I had to stand up and dance to I Wanna Take You For A Ride. Just couldn't sit still
Amazing!! Congrats on the album release!!
Also shout-out to Pat for laying it down sax-y style on Track 11
This sounds incredible! So glad I was at one of the concerts last year! You guys make the best stuff, thank you so much for this wonderful music.
I was just listening through all your old albums again yesterday and the day before. What a coincidence to be blessed with another! I'll always love the stuff that comes from this talented ensemble!!
Also loved Moonlight Sonata Mvt 3, I'd be so down for more arrangements outside of the game-o-sphere too!
The two that always take my breath away are Can You Feel the Sunshine and Pollyanna. They make me want to cry from sheer beauty!
As a gamer who has recently started listening to Lawrence and The Dirty Loops, this album is like an incredible fever dream
I've only listened to half the album and already it is a masterpiece. Absolutely tremendous playing, singing, and arrangement!
I didn't even think it was possible to top the last album but somehow you guys did. Congrats on the album release!
ATE THIS ALBUM UP! (You should totally come to thr midwest and preform 😭)
"I Wanna Take You For A Ride" is incredible arrangement and the lyrics are great. Amazing work converting a 10 second music loop to a whole song. Also really love "Mabe Village", it's so relaxing and very different from other covers I've heard of that song.
Request for future song: "Welcome to the new world!" Which is the theme song for Kirby and the Forgotten Land
The gospel arrangement of Pollyanna is incredible!! 😮
I am HERE for the the Tower of Power reference. Amazing!
hell yeah!! i said the same thing ! :D
The "Squib Cakes" quote at 7:54 was gold!
Brooo beneath mask!!! Its like jill scott and erykah badu vibes....like pure velvet through my ears
Caught red handed haha :)
I have listened to “I Wanna Take You For A Ride” and “Pollyanna” so many times over the past few days
Pollyanna is a straight up religious experience, what a fantastic arrangement!
I have been waiting for the album with Pollyanna! Love this
This is AMAZING!! Definitely worth the wait and then some! Have you ever considered Vinyl? I would LOVE to your albums on Vinyl! Anyways, wonderful work as always. Thank you so much for brightening my days!
By far the best thing to happen this year!
just got to listen to them live last night in newport news. so excited to see them as soon as i get up to new york!
I saw so many comments hyping up I wanna take you for a ride and beneath the mask specifically, they did not dissapoint! All of these songs are absolute bangers! 11/10 job on this one guys! Well done, absolutely beautiful.
I need this album on Spotify
NOW
Its there
the "I wanna take you for a ride" it's absolutely insane
FINALLY! I’ve been waiting with SO MUCH anticipation for this! 🎉
I had to replay the beneath the mask a few times to process just how good it was! Absolutely phenomenal job on that arrangement !!
Amazing version! Love it! (small and polite request - please credit the original writers:- no OG music = no remixes! Cheers!) Superb arrangement by Charlie Rosen, stunning playing from the 8bit Big Band and amazing vocals from Joel Waggoner!
Ah yeah i do that in the individual videos but should definitely do it in the long play full album videos too you’re right! Will update that
Been waiting for this one! Excited to check it out!
This band has a sound as big as Hollywood, Las Vegas, and NYC all put together!
Great music
Man, you guys are amazing.
You are giving me driving music! All the music!
A full album of bangers, can't believe no one gave a shout-out to Mabe Village yet!
this is special, awesome work! :)
Incredible work as always! Beneath the Mask is one of my favorites from P5 and holy cow is this version next level. All the call & responses between the vocals and orchestra are just *chefs kiss* and don't get me started on how perfectly that song sits in Aisha's voice! Brava!
My ears are happy, thanks 8BBB, God Bless 😎🔥
I think I like all of these arrangements more than their originals, and the entire album just goes off in general. This is an all timer for me. It’s just so fresh and fun.
The fact that these tunes sound so great in big band style is a testament not only to the arranging talent and skill of Charlie (and others) and the performers (such tight playing!) but also the original composers - these tunes have great bones so covers by smaller bands like The Consouls J-Music Ensemble and insaneintherain (one-man band!) in varying styles also sound great and I agree that sometimes the covers can eclipse the originals.
Great job to all my friends and colleagues involved in this recording. Excellent!!!
amazing work! I love all of these covers so much. I would love to see a Halo 3 ODST cover sometime in the future from you guys, I could only imagine how incredible the jazz noir theme could be done with the big band!
This music is pure genius. Every song is like a journey. LOVE IT
I'd instantly buy a vinyl of this in a heartbeat
I know what I'm listening to this week-end! Cheers to everyone involved and thanks for all the effort put in this release.
Super Bell Hill at 1.15x is awesome! Fast swing is my jam! All around amazing album!
Wonderful as always! I love your arrangements!
This really made me feel more excited than a child on christmas morning
I'm buying this immediately. So glad the day of release has arrived.
I can hear the Tower of Power quotes in I wanna take you for a ride! Killer!
This is incredible all the way though my fav of the album is number 3. Spend so much time on MVC2 on Xbox back in the day
this is my favorite album you've released, exceptional stuff!!
Absolutely stoked to listen to this on repeat for the next few weeks!
God bless 🤩😍 so good! Tifa Theme had me in tears when that melody came in 👏🏼 bravo 🏆 🔥
It's everything I hoped it'd be ❤
I knew Pollyanna was godly from the video release, but the Persona arrangements man... You guys are on another level.
Great collection of tunes and as expected, the arrangements and performaces are top notch!
I didn't think it was possible, but I think this is even better than the last album. Well done you all!
why yes, I am feeling the sunshine. Banger album!!!
Ooh, nice to have this all together! Fun fact about "You Wouldn't Know": while it is definitely presented in the context of the Portal content, so it's not incorrect to identify it as a Portal song, it actually is the end credits song to Lego Dimensions as a whole. I just think that's neat, it puts the Portal stuff in a uniquely prestigious position among all of the licenses in Lego Dimensions.
Oh interesting! I didn’t realize it was for the whole game, I thought it was just the Portal portion! That’s awesome
Amazing!! id kill to hear 8BBB cover all of Shoji Meguro's songs
