The hypocrisy & double standards is disheartening, they always side with whoever is making them more money. I'm trying to fight plagiarism on TH-cam, I asked them to add a time-stamped “Edit History” feature for video titles & thumbnails (because ASMR artists tend to post around the same time, I've seen them copy each other's SEO titles word-per-word, including the thumbnail, making it look like the original creator, who posted a few minutes after the plagiariser seem like the one who copied Title + Cover-but when you actually watch the meat of the video, it's not hard to tell who was the original creator). Now that I'm seeing this double standard/hypocrisy from TH-cam, idk if TH-cam will listen to my suggestion/feedback, while they reward the people who have no respect for creativity.

I would say that TH-cam is more at fault for not being able to differentiate between these obviously sexualized asmr channels and regular asmr channels. TH-cam needs to do better and stop getting innocent creators caught in the crossfire.

It's important to remember that youtube is open to CHILDREN. It's unacceptable for youtube to be allowing this type of content. Especially knowing how dangerously addictive pornography is, this content could serve as a "gateway drug" of sorts. Honestly at this point youtube needs to be investigated by Congress or the FCC into how their algorithm is promoting this type of content. If she wants to make this content for OF, go right ahead, that site's for adults and has safeguards to prevent children from using it. But in my opinion it should be illegal to post this type of content on a platform that is open to children and then putting your OF link in the description. It's borderline distribution of sexual content to minors.

Why is that such a challenge? Fortunately, I found a browser extension that helps me block such channels and content from my feed and search bar. However, it's not foolproof; I still come across overly sexualized ASMR that I want to avoid. What's even more disheartening is that occasionally I stumble upon smaller channels that produce genuine ASMR content, not softporn material. Luna Rexx isn’t that bad in my eyes. Yeah sure, she takes advantage of her sex appeal to market her channel, but this isn’t nearly as bad as other channels. Take, for example, Malina asmr. From the very beginning she was making raunchy content, presumably to test the waters for her audience. When she saw that that stuff is successful, she plunged head first into sexual content. At least Luna Rexx had some form of plausible deniability, Malina literally has Durex containers and does an Aheago face in every one of her thumbnails now. The kicker is, she gets millions of views, so TH-cam pushes her content. She has a video from 3 months ago with her thumbnail showing her being completely topless, and that video has 14 million views. With that much success, why would she ever stop or pivot her style of content. I don’t really care that she makes this content, I just hate the double standard TH-cam puts on its creators, as can be seen in this very video. It just really sucks that some content creators can put blood, sweat, and tears into their magnum opus and have it dead-in-the-water (demonetized) immediately while Malina can take of her shirt and make bank.

There's an even more important issue at play. I have severe PTSD that comes with vicious panic attacks. Sometimes ASMR is one of the few things that can help me get through an attack. Now you tell me, how do you think it feels when I'm in the midst of a panic attack and I start searching TH-cam for ASMR content, only to be greeted with all this sexual and fetishized imagery. Do you think that's calming to me? Do you think that's relaxing to me? It's like having to walk through a minefield just to find content that is helpful sometimes.

I've been enjoying ASMR for the better of a decade, back when it was something that barely anyone even knew about. I loved having come across it and being able to enjoy this very unique thing that helped me relax and fall asleep, and felt like something that was able to be enjoyed by me and like minded people. Now over the last several years the actual good content creators are being overshadowed by sexualized e-girls who make clickbait thumbnails to draw in desperate and thirsty audience members and they rack up millions of views all while making ASMR seem like it's entirely sexualized. It's disheartening and irritating. In her response video she talked about how it's wrong to gatekeep the ASMR community from that type of content but honestly, gatekeeping is what keeps some things from being ruined. There's nothing more upsetting than seeing something you loved and were interested in get invaded by people that want to change the face of it and twist what it was originally for. If these e-girls want to show off their bodies and prey on desperate and lonely people then they should do it somewhere else and leave ASMR alone.

It's frustrating to see content like this as the first result, and I'm tired of hearing that it's the algorithm catering to my preferences. I've been trying for two years to block and report such content, only to realize that TH-cam lacks a basic feature: the ability to block creators from appearing in my feed or search results.
Typically, I search for ASMR videos, but every time, I'm greeted with channels like LunaRex or ScottishMurmurs, who manipulate thumbnails for attention and then express anger when their content is demonetized. Seriously?
Honestly, TH-cam holds the most responsibility in this situation.
Viewers should have the power to curate their own watching experiences, including blocking unwanted content.
Why is that such a challenge?
Fortunately, I found a browser extension that helps me block such channels and content from my feed and search bar.
However, it's not foolproof; I still come across overly sexualized ASMR that I want to avoid.
What's even more disheartening is that occasionally I stumble upon smaller channels that produce genuine ASMR content, not softporn material.
Yet, they get drowned out by larger creators who essentially channel their followers to their OnlyFans accounts. It's been two years, and this issue persists.
TH-cam should prohibit these creators. There are numerous platforms more suited for monetizing explicit content.
If they can't comply, tough luck-no one forced them to use TH-cam.
They must adhere to the platform's rules.
Furthermore, TH-cam should empower viewers to block creators they choose not to see.
And by "block," I mean completely remove them: no more videos or channel appearing in searches or feeds.
The algorithm should then readjust its recommendations accordingly. Even TikTok has this functionality!
If TH-cam refuses to ban these creators, they should, at the very least, prevent them from overshadowing smaller content creators who have no interest in producing softporn material.
In summary, I strongly disagree with pseudo-pornstars being allowed on a platform like TH-cam.

Luna Rexx isn’t that bad in my eyes. Yeah sure, she takes advantage of her sex appeal to market her channel, but this isn’t nearly as bad as other channels. Take, for example, Malina asmr. From the very beginning she was making raunchy content, presumably to test the waters for her audience. When she saw that that stuff is successful, she plunged head first into sexual content. At least Luna Rexx had some form of plausible deniability, Malina literally has Durex containers and does an Aheago face in every one of her thumbnails now.
The kicker is, she gets millions of views, so TH-cam pushes her content. She has a video from 3 months ago with her thumbnail showing her being completely topless, and that video has 14 million views. With that much success, why would she ever stop or pivot her style of content.
I don’t really care that she makes this content, I just hate the double standard TH-cam puts on its creators, as can be seen in this very video. It just really sucks that some content creators can put blood, sweat, and tears into their magnum opus and have it dead-in-the-water (demonetized) immediately while Malina can take of her shirt and make bank.

Now you tell me, how do you think it feels when I'm in the midst of a panic attack and I start searching TH-cam for ASMR content, only to be greeted with all this sexual and fetishized imagery.

I have no problem with these videos. Adults can make and consume any kind of content they want but I wish they were just more honest and weren't using the ASMR label. It's audio porn. I've been enjoying ASMR for the better of a decade, back when it was something that barely anyone even knew about. I loved having come across it and being able to enjoy this very unique thing that helped me relax and fall asleep, and felt like something that was able to be enjoyed by me and like minded people.
Now over the last several years the actual good content creators are being overshadowed by sexualized e-girls who make clickbait thumbnails to draw in desperate and thirsty audience members and they rack up millions of views all while making ASMR seem like it's entirely sexualized. It's disheartening and irritating.
In her response video she talked about how it's wrong to gatekeep the ASMR community from that type of content but honestly, gatekeeping is what keeps some things from being ruined. There's nothing more upsetting than seeing something you loved and were interested in get invaded by people that want to change the face of it and twist what it was originally for. If these e-girls want to show off their bodies and prey on desperate and lonely people then they should do it somewhere else and leave ASMR alone.
