I happened upon your video and was able to find a download of the software. It is a game changer for building voices and performances at a granular level with fast recall of saved settings with my MX88. Thank you for bringing this to the attention of MX users.
Dude, thank you. I have had this board for awhile and was planning to sell it for the limitations of 2 layered sounds. I was willing to take a loss but now I may just have exactly what I need. Appreciate you sir! Hope all is well with you!
Very cool. Will investigate. Have downloaded software.....Thank-you. Had MX88 for a couple of months...still working it all out. Always looking for more info.. and not just the 'official' line. Gained a lot from your video. Cheers Retro Mac Man. Greatly appreciated.
@@retromacman620 I found on a Yamaha forum that you can save this to a performance on the MX so you can just pull it up without a computer. One last question, at 5:26 at the top right in the blue main LCD you click "layers" but I don't have that button. I only have get, open, save, collect. How do you turn on those buttons? Thanks
@@shawno66 I'll have to check the app when I get a chance, I can't remember which section that feature is in, but the function should just be there on the upper right side
@@retromacman620 yeah thank you. I had already found a means and i had installed the software Pro into my pc. One thing though, i had noticed through your video that once you had connected through to your mx88, your sounds had changed immediately, although on the same voices you had used, lets say on the piano, concert grand piano, once you had connected your mx88 to the software, everything, though on the same voice, had changed, it then sounded much more heavier than it is and as if there were bass added to the piano whereas there wasn't at all. So how do i change this to return back to my previous while i can still make use of the software to apply some changes to and add up new voices??
So apparently the original site is down, not certain if the support is defunct. I found this link, which works drive.google.com/drive/folders/13jPTOBHq7pdeEwl_TfcRk09YPs8vazW9?fbclid=IwAR008UhZJXT60SKTse6lARZ27Hp91Pxw0EuRs1ly8Y2eVtCu-1kzwUSqHzU
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem...ew... yesI said the "P" word! For decades I have chosen Yamaha because I rely on the quality and I've never had a problem...Well until I got an MX88. I feel the same way about Tascam. I don't know if it's just me or what but it seems these days everything is being made so cheaply. The tech is there but the hardware has gotten cheaper every decade. ANYWAY... I got my MX88 last June specifically to tackle a project I had planned for a year. Having previously had a few Motif's I'm familiar with what the MX has and for that...no surprises. The action is good, but I also have a P255 and these actions are supposed to be the same, but they are not. It's all about the feel. ANYWAY...right out of the box after getting everything setup to start the project I noticed a crackling noise every time I turned the MX on. Consistently on every power on with first note/chord strike. All on attack of the note. BUT... after a few notes it would subside. Knowing now... I should have immediately returned it, but anxious to get the project going I made the exception since the noise consistently seemed to subside upon playing. It was like it just needed to warm up. Fast forward to project completion. After weeks of practice and many out takes I had a track I was happy with. BUT as I began to listen more carefully readying for mixdown I began to notice there were STILL crackles within the track. Be they ever so subtle... they were there, all on the strike/attack of the note! Because this noise is specific to the strike/attack of the note I was able to work around it by playing a little less aggressively and was eventually able to get a keeper track. However some crackling was still there. I performed a number of tests to ensure it wasn't another piece of equipment or a bad cable and found unanimously my MX has a problem. So yesterday I boxed it up and sent it to the nearest service center and it should be interesting to see what they find. So that said... has anyone else noticed this dilemma?
I have not had this experience with mine. As far as working, it's been pretty reliable. I think yamaha should release an updated model soon, as this feels a bit primitive compared to keyboards in this price point...
I guess this is suppose to be informative, but too much hemming and hawing with your delivery...got boring. Please spend more time showing how to DL the application and how it works, and less time talking.

You're welcome! So glad you were able to find the download! It really turns the board into a sort of workstation and a solid analog style synth
Please can you provide a link to download the software?🙏

Do you know where I can find a working copy? I cannot find it for windows

Hope it works out, I was disappointed when I found out you couldn't just go to the yamaha site and download the pro version of the software!
i went to sleep 13.5 times waiting to get the information...
Awesome video bro I was just looking for a way to use more sounds in my worship on a mx49
Hopefully it works for you man!
I noticed that the MX88 editor software is not on the Yamaha download site. Why did they take it off?
Good question, especially since the keyboard is still in production
I do not think they are, made in 2017, there is another one I downloaded to see if it is like what I see on your video.@@retromacman620

Can you do a split with more than 2 sounds? (vs layer)
Can you save it for recall without a computer?
I know you can save the presets for recall without a computer, not certain you can do multiple splits...

I don't have this keyboard anymore, maybe try contacting yamaha?

How can I program the 16 buttons with my own patches and recall like on the S90XS and NOT use the rotary dial?

I'm not sure how to do that, I think someone in the comments found a link...

Vycro MX, sorry for the late reply. I'm not sure you can find it anymore, though.
