    Yes we were in Whyalla and I saw the barges going back and forth so a good opportunity to put drone up. Cheers mate 🍺👍🍷🇦🇺

    Wow! Interesting process...and what weirdly shaped containment structures above deck! Great story, Andy!

    Great video work Andy. Thanks for posting. About 10 years ago I regularly drove from Adelaide to work on the hydraulic systems of the FOTB Spencer Gulf, the two barges and also the CSL Whyalla. Interesting times but also hard work.

      Thanks for watching.I watched these barges load up and thought at the time how odd that these barges depended on the tugs to tow them out.
      Cheers mate 🇦🇺🍷⛴️

    Great capture from above Andy - that's what I love about drones, you would never be able to capture this from the ground. Many thanks for sharing :)

    the barges are manned when loading, and also the fwd tug needs assistance from barge crew to secure tow line.

      Thanks Barry for that information. On several occasions that I have watched these barges I had observed barge crew secure tow lines to front tug and rear tugs. I would have like to have got footage of the discharging pontoon that’s outback at sea, but a little too far to fly the drone lol cheers mate and thanks for watching.🦘🍷🇦🇺⛴️🛟

    Where does the Barge go to ??

    • @OzbeachAndy
      @OzbeachAndy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching Mark under the video is details about these barges. But in short they go about 7 kilometres out to sea to transfer the load on iron ore cargo ships. These ships size are unable to go to the ports at Whyalla as its to shallow. Cheers mate
