Het blijft kippenvel om deze beelden terug te zien... Vind nog steeds tot op de dag vandaag Jean marie belgische beste doelman. Was altijd een genot om naar de kijken... Een man die er stond... Die ging er altijd voor... Sterk in penalties stoppen. Ik was toen 10 op wk Dat elftal maakte zo een indruk op me.... Het kippenvel, te tranen, de emoties toen Waren niet te beschrijven... Het was nog een echt elftal die vechten voor elke bal, gerets, Ceulemans enz...elke ik deze beelden zie voel ik me terug die kleine jongen... Alleen jammer Dat hij vooral belachelijk gemaakt om zijn toen niet vlotte duits... Vind ik best triest of wij allemaal perfect zijn... Hij werd en word nog steeds enorm gewardeerd in duitsland. Meer Dan in zijn eigen geboorteland. Best triest... Ik vind echt wel Dat we trots op Jean marie Mogen zijn wat hij voor het belgische voetbal en daar buiten heeft betekend... Jean marie voor mij Ben je een groot man... Jij hebt er voor geknokt van jongs af aan tot wie je Nu bent.... El sympatico...

Wouter Dehaut I think Courtois suffers a lot of long distance goals and I'm not much fan of tall goalies like Courtois I've always preferred goalies with short to medium stature but Jean Marie Pfaff is better than Courtois because Jean's saves were more difficult than Courtois

At the euro 80, he was great.
The firt time i saw him, it was for a game against Netherland (world cup 78 qualifer).
He played very well only beaten by Rene Van der Kerkoff (le poète).
He was good too, against Argentina in 82.
I saw that game too, first time I saw Pfaff playing. I thought Netherlands would score 5 or 6 goals, but Pfaff stpped them.

That area with Pfaff, Schumacher, Dassayev or Van Breukelen to name but a few. Great goalkeepers and also there was a personality in the goal, someone to look out for.

Jan Tomaszewski, Sepp Maier, Dino Zoff, Peter Shilton, Pat Jennings, Ray Clemence, Harald Schumacher, Pfaff, Renat Dassayev.
I also mention Bruce Grobbelar who was eccentric; unfortunately he was from Zimbabwe, a country that couldn't compete in international level.
He read the game like the best and made saves by taking away the best options very quickly. Very smart, all instinct. On top of that he was able to come with the spectacular saves due to his athleticism. He commanded the goal and his team like a true captain.

Pfaff was so good, that he was the only foreigner Goalkeeper for FC Bayern who was a first eleven Player. And he reached the CL Final with Bayern in 1987.
Even he didn t play for a great team of Belgium: No Anderletch, No Brugge, No Standard. ...Pfaff played for Beveren! A very small team....that could be champion of Belgian league twice during Jean Marie times....

lo vi por primera vez en el mundial de Mexico 1986 y fue uno de los mejores porteros de ese mundial junto a Rinav Dasaev de la URRS y Joel Bats de Francia. En España 1982 fue el portero suplente de Theo Custer en la seleccion velga.
