      Do you know anybody who's reacting to it?
      So far nobody in the pro scene is reacting to it and a lot of them have been going against that move since Tekken 5.

    • @theazgardian
      @theazgardian  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@UltimateBallaPOM Alright, so you say it's unreactable. PhiDX also says hellsweep is unreactable. Does that mean you wouldn't even try to block it? Just because something is extremely difficult to react to doesn’t mean you shouldn't practice recognizing patterns, tendencies, or setups that lead into it. Even pros rely on more than just raw reaction time.

    • @Ashinazuchi
      @Ashinazuchi วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@theazgardian Hellsweep has nothing to do with this conversation or this video bro, why even give it as an example? there is no drill involving hellsweep adds nothing to your point

    • @theazgardian
      @theazgardian  21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Hellsweep is a relevant example because it's often considered unreactable, yet players still develop ways to defend against it, whether through pattern recognition, conditioning, or matchup experience. The point is that even if something is difficult to react to, you should still train for it for overall betterment. The same applies to Dragunov's d2. It's not about drills specifically. It's about improving defensive awareness as a whole.
      I hope this clarifies my point.

      @@Media_Killer02 Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it. This video was more of a pure reaction guide rather than a character-specific or an anti-character/punishment one, but improving your raw reactions will definitely help with dealing with those annoying lows. That said, if Nina and Hwoarang are giving you trouble, labbing them, their strings, figuring out what’s sidestepable and where, and refining your movement (backdashing, sidestepping) and punishment will help you overall. For character specific guides, I’ll keep your suggestion in mind for future content!
      Peace!

  • @NyxDiscordia33

    just wanna drop this here so other people don't fall into bad habits or get confused
    make sure when you record moves to practice defence that you include at least a couple seconds of holding back to make sure your punish is valid
    I saw you block a scourge (Jin's d2) and launch it with WS2 towards the end of the video, which doesn't actually work. d2 is only -14 (one of the most annoying things about it) and WS2 is i15 so if your opponent was blocking they would just block it and punish *you* for attempting a slower move
    and for certain characters like Victor, whose WS1 is -16 on block, this a mistake that could cost you the round

    Level 5 is quite unreasonable if you're making it out to seem that it's a reaction thing.
    PhiDX himself couldn't do it and there aren't videos of anybody doing them.
    - the df1,4/df1,4~4 is handled by you flash ducking and appropriately punishing based on how ready you are for that move(so flash duck into standing launcher or your 12f which covers both scenarios).
    - You're not reacting to d4(16f) and extremely few people have the superhuman reflex to react to db4(21f?). The drill here, Hellsweep added, is to anticipate which low and punish appropriately(-12,-13, launch).
    In practice you MIGHT be able to react to the ff3/Hellsweep mix but you could probably count, with one hand and a missing finger or two, the number of people who will truly react to them in a real match.
    - With Dragonuv, the Snake Edge/Grab is more about blocking until the point the SE is about to connect then mashing your launcher button. If it's SE you'll be in block stun but your launcher will come out at the first active frame(since you're mashing) and it will avoid the grab.
    - when you get better with grabs, you can either (1) add more moves to list(unreactable safe mid, launching unsafe mid, barely reactable* low, reactable mid with similar start-up to the reactable low[King's db2 vs db3], duckable or steppable strings] or (2)turn on opponent Counter Hit property so that you have a reduced window period to break throws.
    Combining these two(and reacting to the situations appropriately) will create something which is somewhat close to achieving Ultra Instinct. You'd have to remove the unreactable lows that have counter hit properties

    • @theazgardian
      @theazgardian  วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@UltimateBallaPOM I get your point, and I’m not saying every mixup can be purely reacted to. But if that were the case, we wouldn’t see even the handful of top players consistently blocking things that are ‘supposed’ to be unreactable. Reaction in Tekken isn’t just raw speed it’s about pattern recognition, anticipation, and sharpening your defensive habits. If you never practice trying to react, you’re just relying on guessing forever.
      By Level 5 we tried to incorporate extremely uncreactable lows so that at least our mind can recognize them and with consistent practice be ready for them.
      I can say about myself that by practicing these my defense has improved by a lot.

      If you can react to and break throws consistently offline, does it even matter online? I remember Anakin saying that online should be used to prepare for offline. Because offline is the real deal. That's where your raw skills matter. So in my opinion, focus on sharpening your reactions and skills first, then we can worry about ping. It’s definitely a factor, but anything can happen. Let’s keep improving!

Congrats on being an new players trying to teach new players and gain praise for something you're bad at lol

As for the drills, I explained them in a way that helps players apply them practically and improving their raw reaction speed rather than just memorizing setups. If something felt unclear, I'm always open to improving! Either way, thanks for engaging-hope you still found some value in the video.
