Does this phone come with a version that's only has a single sim card slot? I don't really need the dual sim slot. And besides, whenever i see a phone with a dual sim slot, it always give me a feel like it's a china phone even though it's not.
I just bought this phone from Negrielectronics got next day shipping to Canada and I must say i love way for bang for the buck than the double the price note and even though screen resolution is low you don't notice it. Screen is amazing and so easy to type. Smaller than note but bigger than S3. With jelly bean its super fast and butter smooth no lag. Dual sim that works in the US & Canada is amazing. This phone is worth every penny and i recommend it to anyone who wants a good dual sim phone.

I am from Nigeria and it is a similar situation. Some people have two sims, maybe one for business and one for personal. Prepaid is only a dollar also and this will sell very well in Nigeria.
Im now using Galaxy Grand Duos . Im enjoying its smooth user interface, cool features and also the potential to have a dual sim. This is right for your bugdet to have a very smartphone. Thumbs up :)
fun facts: this phone was launched in India primarily. dual sim is used in india from 6 years now and there are also phones made by Chinese companies with Indian phone companies which have 3 or 4 sim card slots :D
I'm pretty sure that the duo on the top of the phone means that it has 2 sim cards, not that it has a dual core possessor. You don't see the Nexus 4 with quad on the top.
guys please i saw a vid about Galaxy GRAND i saw the lock screen isn't water effect when you swipe it gives u pic of lock is unlocked ,could that be changed in settings or what please repley because i am gonna buy this at 29\5\2013.THANK YOU :)
In Korea,this phone is aimed for the elderly users. The screen is big and it has a decent price point. It is a bit controversial but some claim that the small resolution actaully helps some users read prints better( Don't ask why because I don't understand it neither.) Anyway, an affordable(kind of) 5 inch screen phone.
Dual-sim phones are popular outside the US.. And many of us would consider it.. We're pretty much all using prepaid on multiple carriers.. There's no monopoly, we use what we choose, heck I have 3 phones.. Each with different numbers..
It has been a dream ride, and I look forward to the next chapter.

Patrick Sison every smartphone is a china phone. Iphone,samsung, Hauwei,HTC etc... yeah it goes on... the components and pieces are made in china

Jon, DUOS means Dual Sim. I've bought this phone and am using it since a month. It's a great phone everything is smooth, no complaints.

no, sprint is a CDMA carrier and this only works on GSM Carriers. AT&T and T-Mobile are the GSM Carriers in the US

Two sim phones are quite common in the South Asian part of the world. It's not a surprising thing to have a dual sim phone back there.
It is not locked onto any carrier (at&t, verizon etc) and has no contract so it can easily be used internationally.

the China 2 prong wall charger is the same as US.
the China 3 prong wall charger is the same as AUS/NZ
I dont have a use for the dual sim but the screen size does interest me.

Duos branding does not signify dual core...It signifies dual SIM..
