You won't get a stacked sensor in the A7V. Sony has the A1 or A9 in its portfolio for this purpose

@@itsmealex9290 Sony A1 II has a fast 50Mpix sensor (higher resolution) and the A9 III already has a GLOBAL shutter (much faster sensor) so a stacked 33Mpix won't be competition to either. I also want a fast stacked 39Mpix sensor, which is required for full width 8K, not because I need 8K, but because it is very efficiently down-sampled to 4K and 1080p.
I’d rather go back down to 24 MP if it means no rolling shutter. If A9 III is 24 MP, what sense is there in adding more in the A7 V. Plus we have the A7R series for high MP count

Sony wouldn’t do 44mp and encroach on the a1 series range.
Sony also doesn’t like to let any of their cameras have fps over 10 u less they cost $6k+. That way people don’t pay attention to the fact they don’t let third party lenses shoot faster than 15fps.
When your camera can’t shoot that fast it doesn’t matter. Bit if they could, then people would start to complain about the third party capabilities.

8k? I don't wanna see people's rash. Also 44mp with just a standard BSI cmos sensor? Man, that rolling shutter effect will be awful on video also the crap noise in low light. ugh. And don't get me started on overheating with that 8K in an entry level A7 body

As long as it gets the same subject detection tracking like the A7RV, I'll be happy. Hopefully, it's announced soon.
My top 3 wants: #1: Higher megapixels so crop-mode still photos are still print worthy. #2: 60fps 4k without any crop. #3: Heat dissipation / internal fan for hi-res video. Any other improvements are gravy to me (a 4th instant recall memory on the dial would be nice). With those things, I'd make an effort to purchase this in 2025.
I went Sony because Nikon was too far behind. I said screw Canon because they IMO screw their customers with their lack of 3rd party lenses and outrageous costs. With that being said though I am not all that thrilled with Sony and their business strategy. Why wasn't the A7V released before the A7RV? Why do they bastardize their entry levels? The A7 Iv is a meh camera IMO. The Nikon Z6III and the rumored Canon R6III clean the floor with the A7IV. It's just crap. Too old and should have had an upgrade already. I hope the A7V is worth staying with the system.
Sony A7iv is a "meh" camera? It produces fantastic images and has solid technology to help photographers. Only extremely niche photographers need "better" features than it provides. They recently added firmware updates that give focus stacking as well as compatibility with the remote camera app. Would be interested to see your work that you have outgrown the capabilities of an A7iv. And the A7Riv was released 2 years before the IV, and the IV has some features the RIV doesn't have so I'd hardly call the entry level "entry level. The Sony A7iv is 3 years old and I expect it will still be relevant and produce great images for another 7 years.

I think we will get a stacked sensor on the a7 series since each version is released in 3-4 years, the next release to have it will be too late.
I think brands like Sony, Canon, Nikon should be inspired to produce less camera models but better cameras. One for mid budget and one for pro. That's all. The phone is able to steal the low budget market.
I am tired to see some restrictions between close models just to have a difference.
Canon like Nikon, few by few, go on all-in-one semipro or pro models.

i wish sony would stop being stingy and put 6K and/or open gate on these $3000 cameras...lumix nikon canon all have 6K cameras under $3000. the s5ii can do 6K open gate and its only $1800. a full frame camera with 6K open gate as well as full frame 4K60 no crop is my dream.

Yes, would be greater to go with a 33mpix stacked sensor for more low light performance ! and finally include the pixel shift function with it ! / a brand new feature would be allso great, like a "shoulder display" on the left side (to be competitive to Fuji / Nikon) and to fill the useless waste of space there....

Only incedibly lousy photographers will not get incredible images with this camera. Guess what will be lacking is mostly behind the viewfinder.
No - will not get this one. My existing ones are more than up to the job - for me...

nada de eso es funcional, 4k a 120fps es mucho pedir, basta con el 4k a 60fps sensor completo, los 44mpx seria un error, ya que los 33mpx ya son demasiado, se volvería una cámara inútil, ya que para alta resolución estaría a7r , 8k exagerado , inútil, poco funcional, solo resulta 6k 8:9 sensor completo para sacar cortes horizontales y verticales o usar anamórficos, no tiene sentido un a7iv en estas fechas, seria un error, es mas útil un a7sIV con todas esas mejoras y llegando a los 20mpx para ofrecer fotografía básica y tener el sensor 6k disponible, mejor ciencia de color, mejores perfiles de color como lumix y fuji, mejorar el estabilizador y no hacerlo malo para vender el catalyst, pantalla mas grande para vista previa, prores, imagen menos procesada sin predominante de color ni enfoque digital, tarjeta sd tipo b, ia para hacer el rastreo de enfoque mas preciso, doble dual iso, en 4000 y 12,800, conectar disco duro usb-c,
