- Im back! Sorry it’s taken so long, been a hard couple of weeks.
Heres our recent play date though! It’s a nice location that met the needs for the amateur and experienced fliers.
Pabu was his usual self screaming at his invisible friends and or monsters 🤷🏼♂️ unfortunately i couldn’t edit out most of his screams for this video so hopefully its not too much haha

Most of the birds had been in their homes/cages for a week due to christmas holidays so they were all super keen to get out and stretch their wings!
Dory met her arch nemesis soss (they are not fans of eachother), another past quaker i hand reared, you can see him in prior uploads. Also beano is one of my old bubs, plus bumi annnnd i think thats it. Possibly another bird i reared i’ve missed lol

Some great moments in here! Like Kyrans super weird walk/strut 😂 its past midnight so im not sure what else to add, if i remember anything in the morning ill add it in.
Remember NEVER take your birds out to do this, these are free flight parrots which are very different to pet indoor parrots.

I just love Dory, your Quaker flying. My Angel Quaker boy flies only in the house, he's to old to fly outside not that I want him too, he has some illness but still lives a happy and fruitful life with his freedom in the house and to discipline me when things aren't his way. LOL

Brody are you being cruel on purpose, play date, 15 minutes of beautiful birds, but what up Roku and Korra, we need an update ASAP!!! It sounded like PABU said “I’m being Pabu“ when you told him to stop screaming! Oh by the way Happy New Year to you and your flock, and your friends!!! And it’s time to face it you got screamers for birds, my two boys tiels scream if they aren’t in the same room!!

joana darc lemes Pabu is a Major Mitchell Cockatoo -they are only from Australia, and I don’t know how popular they are as pets in other countries. That’s probably why you haven’t seen one.

I can only imagine how loud it actually is, how have you not lost your hearing yet? I have a Quaker too, Dory is by far the most "outspoken" quaker is seen before
ive definitely lost my hearing, Korra is a big reason for that one. Im actually industrially deaf lol

I was noticing among parrot videos sometimes the owners are stitching their parrots and the parrot bites as if t say ‘stop scritching’ but not bites hard. Sometimes the owners tell the bird not to bite and keep scritching when it feels like bird is saying stop. Is this a handling method? To teach the parrot that you are the boss? I’m very curious

he does but not as much as pabu as he was reared with quiet birds, Pabu grew up with Roku & Korra screaming non stop plus all the wild too's that scream every day near his aviary lol

is it possible to free fly a caique , because recall trained my caique and she can fly really well .but I have never seen anybody do it
All parrots can be free flight trained including caiques. See all the different species of parrots socializing on these picnics and meetups from quakers to Macaws and everything in between.
Graham Palmer i am not sure about caïques tho , because they are not very good at flying and can get easily tiered .

no never, established wild flocks are like people at the city shopping centre, each with their own groups and relationships, you dont just walk up to strangers and start hanging out with them haha well not normally anyway lol

Tiel forever yeh will upload that vid soon, they are good. Korra is sweet and loves cuddles, Roku extremely protective and aggressive to anyone who goes near her. #jellybellymarriedlife lol

Do you think different breeds of cockatoo can understand each other's screeches, like the mm and galah? I always see galahs and corellas in the wild together and wondered this.
Señor Jin 100% they can undermine each other - they can understand other parrots too. It’s actually more about body language than the sounds they make - but yes they can understand each other’s squawking

Yep that Bumi aka "Black Shadow" lol Maleficent I believe was spoken about not too long ago, she unfortunately passed away November of 2017.
are the white galah naturaly occuring or mutation. there beautiful, theres still one free living with pigeons in cork ireland, he was fine last weinter and it was a cold winterr, ppl wanted me to go catch it, not asking if id like it all about getting someone to get them a free bird, to me his happyness was top so seen as he seems to be doing great i wouldnt help anyone catch him for greedy reasons.just because theyd like a galah. id like a galah but not if its taking him or her away from all it knows ..if its not broken dont fix it, im about the birtds happyness not so much the bird ppl..

free flight parrots are drastically different to pet indoor parrots due to brain development and flight skill, a more accurate comparison is that of wild parrots.
Wild parrots fly alongside raptors daily, so our birds respond and react to danger the same way they do :) it's why its extremely high risk to take a pet indoor parrot out like this but not a free flight trained parrot. www.adventuresofroku.com has all the detailed info
