My garden is my happy place! Put a chair or two out there and enjoy it when you are not working in it!! Always have flowers in your gardens! Make it your relaxing, Happy place butterflies, humming birds, and honey bees!
I'm a new gardner and I've really enjoyed following you for the last year. Digging in my raised beds relaxes me and I loved all your sunflowers! The old goat is hiding in the planter next to Greg. Thank you for all you do !
Glad I was raised on food from our gatden and we always canned food for winter. And my mom taught me to garden and I have loved gardening and especially flower gardening for the last 50 some years!
Been gardening all life now gardening growing for farmers markets it is great joy go to markets watching people getting their produce asking how we grow all this
I would like to add one more thing to your list of why you should be gardening. Gardening has made a connection for me with our ancestors…I know…it sounds silly, but true. While gardening, I often think of how people long ago had to do it and I’m filled with appreciation for all my modern conveniences. While gardening, I realize that it’s a hobby for me, but for my ancestors it was a survival skill. Also, while gardening, I’ve come to understand many of the practices of our ancestor that some may label as harsh or even inhumane. If you’ve ever grown a patch of field peas and tended to them til they were ready for picking only to come out and find them eaten to the ground by your local deer population, those cute little darlings suddenly aren’t cute anymore and now have become possible food sources as well 😉😊. Enjoy your video and hope you have a very blessed day❤. Also the Old Goat is in the plant behind Greg.
Good day, Just pulled the last of our pink eye purple hull top pick peas after our third picking. Did great for us this year. Thank y'all. Tough one but I think the old goat in in the planter behind Mr. Greg. Y'all have a blessed day.
I won’t be able to watch the entire program but I have to tell you. We still haven’t had our first frost in western Arkansas and we are still enjoying tomato samiches from those Red Snappers. We received our seeds the other day and I can’t thank you enough. I can’t give enough praise for the seed quality especially after fighting a year of inferior seeds from bad seed companies. Thanks again and I will never use anything other than Hoss seeds.
Start with Hoss seeds if you are in the south and you can grow in anything … I started in syrup tubs and in a few raised beds… and try different things
I’m a little late but I think old goat is behind the pumpkin and onion bag. If not I have no idea and he’s hiding good. Thank you for all your information ❤
You should check out a older book written by a New York Times food writer, years ago. The name of that book is Real Food, he basically brings out that if your ( people our age) Grandparents would not recognize it as food don’t eat it. And real food doesn’t come through the car window! Also it was the first time I saw only shop the outside isles of a supermarket. Anyway great book. You should read. Says same thing this lady is talking about years ago.
Great info. I love learning new things about growing veggies in my garden. This will be my 4th season. Ive come a long way from when i started. Im looking foward to seeing how your onions grow compared to the ones i grew last year. By the way, any date yet when you will start shipping them out? Im going to prepare the ground tomorrow so it will be ready to plant in when i receive them. Nice video. Happy Gardening, Ed
I like the pinkeye that gives the dark broth, the broth itself is better than the peas. I like to crumble my cornbread in the broth. I'm waiting for a light frost on the collards to cook some. Growing the kohlrabi I bought from you guys and it's just starting to bulb up, I'm looking forward to making a slaw from it.
I haven't planted my onions yet I started them October 1 i got 1015 and red cerol and texas white I have trim them several times I trimmed the today again I've been using that Dr Joe's once a week I probably will not get them planted until around December 1st I hope they'll be okay
QUESTION : How many plants did you have of the pink eyes? We're they in raised beds? I have grow beds, pools and a few raised beds. I am trying to add new beds as money allows. Thank you so much!!
It’s been wonderful to see the reach she has gained, although she’s late to the game. This has been known for years, but doctors and people who stated such were deemed conspiracy theorist. For example, Robert F Kennedy Jr for years has been saying this. Good to see him in a position where he can make positive changes for our nation. Keep up the great work Hoss family!❤️
We are getting really spoiled here in zone 5B. With these awesome tempseratures. Now that I say this it will probably freeze, but as I write this we have not had a killing freeze yet. Funny thing....Im already getting the new seed catalogs in the mail and email. They are wasting NO time. Is that the Old Goat in the Palm Plant towards the bottom?
I do have a question, I planted Stevia this year in my greenstalk, like everything just about that I planted in several rows, I just let it go. It has started blooming. I did cut them off yesterday and I saved them in a paper bag. Once these dry out, will I have some seeds I can possibly use?
@ they had just flowered out. I shall see. This is the first time I’ve had Stevia flower out. I had no idea until I turned the GS around and saw them. Thanks!😊
No such thing as too much fertilizer in sand/deserts. You can try growing no fertilizer or water but how many years you willing to wait for that to make sense and pay off?..
The lazy garden is wonderful but the coastal Bermuda will take it over … but you know what if weeds will grow , so will plants .. the good Lord told me this one time that I was on my knees pulling weeds and complaining about them
I think peas are easy to grow … squash is hard here because of squash vine borers, I usually have a hard time with spinach and lettuce , but you taught me how to grow them inside

So true!
I need my "dirt therapy and sunshine" for seasonal depression.
Even after gardening for many many years, I still get excited to spot the first broccoli, or pea, cuke, etc of the season.
I'm a new gardner and I've really enjoyed following you for the last year. Digging in my raised beds relaxes me and I loved all your sunflowers! The old goat is hiding in the planter next to Greg. Thank you for all you do !
Sounds great!

Thank you for bringing up Casey Means!! We learned about Casey and Calley on Beyond Labels podcast with Joel Salatin and Sena McCulloch
New gardeners need to watch the videos
Yall and Danny and Wanda at pecan grove & Deep South homestead have taught me so so much
And I’m so grateful
I try to pick one veggie every season to learn everything that I can about it
Casey is awesome. I would love to see a video on Momma Hoss's favorite sweet potato recipe for the holidays.
Great idea!!

You would like the red ripper peas then…
You can plant them by a fence and they will run up the fence and they are easy to pick also

Hello Tammie

All my leafy greens have been attacked by worms had to spray with BT. Any more suggestions?
That old goat is hiding in the plant inside the white planter

you should if they were fully mature
@ they had just flowered out. I shall see. This is the first time I’ve had Stevia flower out. I had no idea until I turned the GS around and saw them. Thanks!😊
I haven't had a dependable mailing address in years
The EU has been better than the USA but they have really relaxed their standards lately.
