We had only shareholders OBC on these two sailings, they were booked in August of 2021 after cancelling our Symphony of the Seas and MSC Meraviglia sailings for the same weeks. Testing requirements made it difficult to sail a side to side on the different cruise lines.

Thank you for sharing your process of the back-to-back. Wife and I are doing the exact thing you guys did. Same itinerary and will be our 1st time doing a B2B and doing a Southern trip. Personally, with this cruise.....I hit DIAMOND stats ...boom! ( We are doing a COVE balcony which also will be a 1st)

When you do a back to back do you have to pack up anything/everything, or do you get to leave it all in your stateroom? That Capt. Pumpkin in the atrium is weird enough, but when he's talking, and there's nobody around, it's REALLY creepy! LOL. Is he there all the time, even when it's not Halloween, with a different head?
Nice to be watching some "warm weather" vlogs. Currently getting buried i a blizzard here in NJ - 118" snow, with 2' drifts, 50 mph wind gusts last night into today, temps dropping to the single overnight, so the deep snow and everything else is going to freeze. But - I am VERY grateful to have kept my power (that means heat too!), and it's supposed to be in t he high 40's by next Wed, so just have to tough it out until then. Garbage and mail will have to wait until then (have to walk about 1/2 block away for those). And haven't been able to do recycling for about a month due to weather, so that's got to wait too! LOL

We have our first back to back on the Horizon in October. We will be changing staterooms. Will we need to take our luggage or will it be moved by our steward? I missed where you said you got your old room card back - was that at guest services? Love watching your videos. I’m hoping I don’t miss any!
Hi! I'm so glad you get to enjoy a back to back. Some people were taking their luggage with them but you do not have to. If completely packed your room steward will move it. My suggestion is to take with you your medications, pass ports, electronics - any item that you would normally keep with you when dropping your luggage with a porter and any items you may think you will need before your cabin is ready Your new cabin will not be available until all the other cabins are open - like a regular embarkation day.

Hello, I will be doing the Sunrise back to back next month. Would you please clarify the Covid testing process required between the two sailings. I believe you mentioned you did the testing on the carnival ship. Was this provided by carnival. And if so what was the cost?
Hi, the procedure varies by ship. It was slightly different on Mardi Gras than on Horizon. That said the process is generally the same. In your cabin on the last couple of days of your first sailing you will receive an envelope with your back to back information. That envelope had our Covid Testing appointment information and our Back to Back procedure. On Mardi Gras we tested on embarkation day of our second sailing. On Horizon we tested on the last day of our first sailing. We did not have to pay for the tests and we did not have to schedule them. Carnival took care of all of that. There was a staff on the ship that conducted the test and gave our results to Carnival and us. It is very quick and easy. Do remember protocols and procedures are changing all the time, as of October 2021 that was our experience. Have a fantastic cruise! Hugs!
