Hey there I am part of a npo that plays musicals donating profits to a child cancer help centre. I'm currently getting into lighting, loving your detailed tutorials! Great source for learning can't wait to get started!
Watching your videos again and when I do I always find something I missed or had a question about. Keep the videos coming, PLEASE! Also, downloaded version 1.7.2.0 today. I'm in the patch section which is different and much improved!
Hi Mike. Sorry that i didn´t answer, but for some reason this comment was caught in the spam filter. 🙄 Yes 1.7 has changed a lot of things in the software, and I will make some videos on the new features in the near future. I will keep the videos coming, and thank you for always engaging with the videos in the comment section - that means a lot 👍👍

Nice! Good tutorial! I've worked with Grandma1 but going to learn MA3 now and also about buying a node. You should reverse the order in the TH-cam Playlist.
Hello, so I'm trying to set up the list you give in the video but some of the fixtures are not available. How can I make sure I'm using the same program as you? Everything looks the same except for a few things.
I had that exact thought. Looks like if you create your groups and click the arrow next to a particular group, you get a “New Fixture” button in there to add directly in there vs the large pool.
Hello, I'm from Hannover, Germany I can't find the way to patch my own device. For example a simple stroboscope, which is not listed anywhere. So chanel 1 is brightness, chanel 2 is speed, chanel 3 is running light and so on. Thanks a lot and happy easter!
Hi Detlev. Is it a fixture you have created yourself? If not you have to look in the manual which DMXaddresses that are used for all the different parameters and then write your own fixture profile. I havent made a tutorial for that yet, but i found i video that explains it from another youtuber: th-cam.com/video/yocxH7AEjXk/w-d-xo.html Let me know if that helps you or i you need more information :-)
@@Event-Lighting Thank you very much for your answer. The linked video was helpful althaugh the video has a bad quality. So have a nice sunday and I'm Looping forward for your next tutorual.
Hello! Always great videos, I'm struggling with an older issue and can't find help on it anywhere! When patching in anything with multiple pixels, like titan tubes, with more than one pixel i.e 8/16 - they patch in fine but when assigning them to the layout view, they are un-usable. If I assign for example 1001 it just looks as though it's fully on and I can't adjust any setting. I have to assign "1001.1" then .2 .3 .4 etc then each pixel will be assigned separately but surely there is a better/proper way of assigning all the individual pixels of one single fixture to the layout view? You can't 1001.1 thru 1001.8 as this doesn't work. On Ma2 you simply stored the main fixture ID and it would put in every separate pixel as it's own little icon that is controllable. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
First of all I want to say thank you so much for this documents. These video really help me but I want to ask a question about video walla patching. How can we use Grand MA 3 for play some videos on led screen is it possible?
Hi Özgün. The GrandMA3 in itself can’t control a LED screen directly. But it can control a Media Server much the same way as you control any moving light. You can start a video; you can scale the videos and you can apply effect all from the GrandMA3. But it’s the media server that has all the media inside, and the GrandMA3 is just a “remote control” Search for Hippotizer media server - or Pandora Media server and then you can see what it takes. 😊😊
Assisti ao seu vídeo do Brasil, falo Inglês e as legendas do youtube em Inglês também ajudam muito, conteúdo bem fácil de entender o que está fazendo e porque.
Watching from Athens, Greece! Great video, thank you! What if you can't patch the fixtures in groups, but need to go Viper-Aura-Viper-Aura-Viper etc? What's the fastest way to do that?
Hi Gkats5513 - Nice to have you on the channel. 👍👍 You can patch in the patch sheet as i have showed in the video. BUT you can also patch directly from the command line. If you *INSERT 20 fixtures in the patch window first* - Say you insert *10 Mac AURA and 10 Mac VIPER* in you patch sheet, but you dont give them any adress. You give them fixture ID: *AURA 1 thru 10 - VIPER 101 thru 110* Then you exit the patch and save the patch. Go to your command line and write: *Patch Fixture 1 thru 5 + 101 thru 105 + 6 thru 10 + 106 thru 110 at* When you press "Please" a new window will open, where you can tell it what universe and start adress you want - and voila you have patch all you fixtures in the selected order 😀😀 Let me know if that worked for you 😀😀
@@Event-Lighting Yeah it did work, thank you so much. I'd still guess patching fixture by fixture is the way to go in less symmetric rigs. Thanks for your videos, I am learning how to operate the MA3 combining your video tutorials and the manual (but 1000+ pages is not an easy read!)
@Gkats5513. I am happy that it worked, and REALLY happy that you get something out of my videos. 👍👍 You can also select your fixtures 1 by 1 in the patch window in the order you want to patch them holding down CTRL, that will also do the trick.. That might be easier if our rig is not to big. 😀
The patch window has changed in one of the latest updates. You still search the same fixtures. If you click “library” in the pop up window, you can see “description” in the bottom left. There you can see what kind of fixture you have selected.

First time Working with MA,in patch why not create the groups first and then patch the fixture ,half the work,or I’m missing something
