It's funny, because I've always considered you to be a very "chill" booktuber. You never get into the "X is the best book/series/author/character to ever exist, and if you don't agree, you're wrong!" kind of talk, which I find very refreshing! :) Anyway, great video! My holy trinity of Booktube are Elliot, Merphy and Daniel... I could listen to them for hours... that said this was a great video to learn about more very talented booktubers. I actually know some of them from Worldhoppers :) This video was such a cool idea!
I have only recently discovered this channel but watching it makes me feel like I have reconnected with long lost friends. I love the diversity of content. I appreciate your creative approach. I’ve watched rap battles , found dating advice , laughed over 1 star reviews , watched reviews on old favorites and found new books to explore. I am eager to check out some of these other channels , but really just wanted to say that you do a wonderful job Elliot. Cheers
Great idea! 😁 How about an opposite idea? Like, if you _DON'T_ like these books/authors, check out these booktubers? For example, I'm so tired of people recommending Sanderson to me just because I like long fantasy stories, even though I don't really like his stories/characters. It's so hard finding the Booktubers which first fantasy recommendation isn't Sanderson/Jordan/Tolkien/Rothfuss. That's why I really appreciated Samantha from Sam's Nonsense channel (even if our tastes don't completely align), but she doesn't really post any more, sadly 😭 I'll definitely check out Liene's Library tho, since you mentioned she isn't too big of a Sanderson fan 😁
I think people are sleeping on XCatherineReads. She is the most interesting booktuber out there. She's also super funny and creative. She reads Sanderson, Star Wars and other fantasy/sci-fi books, but she also does thing that I don't really see other booktubers doing. Like...recently for the reading rush she read the bible for 7 days, she did a tier ranking for all the Midnight Sun book covers, she dressed a few of her books up and took them to prom with her.
Well great! Now Elliot cut my free time in half, because I'm subscribed to 10 more booktubers 😱 But seriously, thanks for this! I was searching for more booktuber content anyway and they all sound awesome😍

I think Captured in Words is the first Booktube channel I ever watched! I know it’s where I first heard of Brandon Sanderson (& Mistborn). I decided last summer I was going to start reading more and break out of my mystery/James Patterson rut. I decided to see what TH-cam had to offer to help me decide what to read next , and I stumbled onto his channel. His videos are very entertaining!

Thank God! I have a hard time finding booktubers with the same taste as me. I keep getting recommended the same exact channels over and over again. There are some where I really like the person, but I am never going to read the books that they do. Or I get the opposite problem where someone does have the same taste but I am just not into their channel. So I feel like I watch a lot of booktube, but very few booktube channels which leaves me with less diverse reading recommendations. I am really looking for some good horror based booktubers and some sci-fi peps.
I watched Liene's video about not getting The Way of Kings and how it is too long... in an hour long video :D I do not agree with her, but she was entertaining and well-spoken so I subscribed:)

Rachel at the TheShadesofOrange has amazing sci-fi content as well as Tori Morrow and Literature Science Alliance! They are where I get a lot of my recommendations for sci-fi! 😄

The last one in particular has tons of older and less known titles that went straight to my TBR. I wish more channels ventured outside of the new and popular, so many times it's the same same book being featured on multiple channels at the same time.
It might return, but with slightly different participants. It started to fizzle out when some participants were prioritizing their own projects/channels more - less time & what-not.
