I've been in such a slump with my art for years. I stumbled upon your videos by accident and what a happy accident it was! I'm filled with inspiration and some great prompts to improve my skills or just have fun. Your videos always fill me with the urge to create something. Keep going!
Currently bingeing all your videos from the start (and feeling very inspired). A huge difference in your car drawing from a painting in a previous video. It's lovely to see how your work changes over time
Aww a Captain's log? that's such a great thing to do with kids to get them engaged and interested in everything you do on holidays. definitely something to remember if I ever become a parent
I love your compositions! Thanks for all the tips. I adore travel journals & always keep all the tickets, names & foods I go about. Recollecting is just so much fun!
I'm really excited to start my travel journal when I visit London next month. I've always wanted to journal but not in my everyday life (I prefer a messy diary for that where I write so scruffy that no one can read it lol). So having a special artsy journal just for travel is so exciting, it will be such a lovely time peice 2 look back on x
Thank you for the inspirational tips! I was looking for some travel journal guidance and your ideas and modelling help so much. As always, I adore your non-judgmental attitude around how to personalize our work. It gives an added bit of "permission" to express ourselves in whatever way suits us, if that makes sense. 💖💖💖
This is so beautiful! I admire how everything you draw (even things like cars) look so special and pleasing. I regret so much that I haven't made a travel journal from my trip to Athens in November... it was the best week last year. I'll definitely do one on my next trip.
Your style is great, very inspirational! I definitely see how making art about a trip or something helps memories. I always like to keep things that will remind me of a great time I had. Even if it's a specific song that I will listen to during that time, afterwards it would remind of the time.
This video is just what I needed lol. I got inspired by you to make my own travel journal! I'm drying plants to put into the journal as well. Thank you!! 😁
That intro though! Holy moly I love it! Great video as usual Minnie, very inspiring for a fellow artist such as myself. I always say it but I love your voice :)
thank u for making lovely and inspiring content!! I could watch ur videos forever!! I've been in a slump with my sketchbook so thank u for inspiring me to experiment with a travel journal/sketchbook 💗💗💗 also ur videos and voice are very calming so thank u for that as well ahaha!
Thank you so much for inspiring me, Minnie. I am already practicing drawing houses and stuff for making a travel journal this summer. (Even though we are not going anywhere special, lol) Have a nice day!
Happy late birthday! I would love to hear more excerpts from your travels! I love your first writing style, and it makes me want to keep notes in my phone to look back too!
belated happy birthday!! i hope ur happy keep these vids coming ur my inspiration tysm for your all ur efforts we appreciate them so much more power!!! 🌸🌸🌸
when you read out your diary entry i literally got lost in your voice - you're so well spoken! feel like you should do audiobook readings or something haha
This is going to sound odd, but you have beautiful hands! Your videos are awesome. Im glad you've been talking about travel journals, never done one and have been interested in making one
Love this channel and this video, of course. I also do some times such spreads in my scrapbook, but without drawings. I would like to get one of traveling journals as well:) Thanks
Loved your way of seeing things in a travel and transferring into the journal. There is a TH-camr called Cathy Johnson, she also makes travel journals. I highly recommend you check her out, her sketchbooks are unbelievable.
Jaden Teixeira I think it's probably instinctual to how she interprets the colours she sees or how she wants to see them (whether bright, muted, candy toned, warm, cold). Placing colours is usually from lightest tones first to darkest last simply for the sake of practicality (you can always make a colour darker but you can't always make it lighter once it's on the page already -especially with watercolour). I hope this helps, I know your comment was 2 months ago but scrolling past and seeing it unanswered made me sad. These few untold 'rules' are things you learn with practice but I'm assuming you must be either new to creating art or are just curious about Minnie's own creative practice. 💜
Ive been using Pitt Artist Pens for about 7 years now and they are fantastic to use the colours are great too but just a heads up to anyone thinking of using them I have found that the artworks fade after a couple of years I live in Australia and the lighting is extreme but have found that artworks Ive created using these pens do fade after time.
-do you get any bleedthrough or ghosting in your sketchbook? i was thinking that if it doesn't bleed or ghost, it would make a great journal to write in :)
Happy late bday! or.. feliz cumpleaños! :D I know you went to Mexico, I live in that country so I wanted to know which places you visited and which places you didn´t but wanted to visit. Thanks!
Minnie Ive got a question for you, and if you dont get around to answering it I hope someone in the comment section could give me some advice. The thing is that I feel like I am a slow painter (I emphasize "feel like" because I can't say that there is a set time frame that you are supposed to fit in as an artist). It takes me several days to create something that Im happy with, and I will experience several moments of frustration and almost give up before I finally complete a piece. This happens to me with every single piece. When trying to practice speed drawings and challeging my self to paint quicker I litteraly end up with a 5 year olds drawings that are too embarrasing to share (not exaggerating at all). Do you think this has to do with my skill and that I simply need to keep practicing in order to improve my muscle memory or is it simply just that everyone works at his or her own pace? I have been struggeling for as long as I can remember and no matter how much I practice I cant seem to nail the colors, shadows, proportions from the 4th or 5th or 20th try, I have to keep trying over and over until finally getting it right which often takes the joy out of the process. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you!
Personally, I think your pace is that you are comparing what you do live to what others are doing in a video mode that is several times faster than it actually was done. Very few videos on TH-cam are shown in the length of time it actually takes to have done them! Speed anything means that the video has been shown fast so you won't get bored! You aren't the only one I've seen ask the same question. Being as careful as you need to be gets you to the goal. The more you do, you will go faster just because you won't have to figure every thing out.
SeyvonTheGenie hey there, if you don't mind i am answering your question , I have got a Moleskine, and no, no bleed throughs. the paper quality is great. 👍 use the artist sketchbook moleskines
guys i need help! i'm gonna be in europe for a month, and i'd really like to journal there. but i don't have a printer! i'm not really good at art, so i have to use photos. i can't get one of those mini printers because they're expensive. does anyone have any ideas? thanks a lot
Elise Elise You could always take a pictures with your phone and use them as references and leave spaces for other things (like post cards, stamps, labels ads etc)
That's a great tip BoredomMuffins! Also Elise, if you look at a few online photo printing websites (the type where you upload your photos and they print and post them to you) you'll almost always find one with an offer going on for new customers like first 30 photos printed free. Even if they don't have an offer on, I find those sites generally pretty affordable, especially if you're not planning on printing a lot.
what a wholesome person omfg, how blessed are we all to watch her draw and listen to her reading a diary entry x
this is probably the most inspiring art channel i have come across, i love your voice, work and the aesthetic of your videos

Happy late birthday! Also, this is the best thing to wake up to ^-^
Loved your way of seeing things in a travel and transferring into the journal. There is a TH-camr called Cathy Johnson, she also makes travel journals. I highly recommend you check her out, her sketchbooks are unbelievable.
I like that the main colors showing are the primary colors
Loved this! Makes me want to journal again :)
Hey girly I was wondering how do you go about placing your colors and which colors to use?
Jaden Teixeira I think it's probably instinctual to how she interprets the colours she sees or how she wants to see them (whether bright, muted, candy toned, warm, cold). You seem to draw depending heavily on memory, do you have tips for people that have aphantasia or faulty memory?
-do you get any bleedthrough or ghosting in your sketchbook? i was thinking that if it doesn't bleed or ghost, it would make a great journal to write in :)
Happy late bday! or.. feliz cumpleaños! :D I know you went to Mexico, I live in that country so I wanted to know which places you visited and which places you didn´t but wanted to visit. Thanks!
U should do a hand writing tutorial bc urs is really nice

Hello! Can you please show more work using chalk markers? Thank you!

Happy late birthday ..!
What is the pen that you use at the beginning of this video? the yellow pointed one on the first car
Hey Minnie! Do you have any tips on building an audience on youtube? :)
What is that Yellow pen kind of a thing that you use to sketch the cars? And Please tell me the difference between Gouache and Poster Colors.
kirti sharma everything she used is linked in the description 💕
Ma'am, I wouldn't have asked if it was there. It isn't mentioned. :)
+kirti sharma it's a bic biro
Thank you so much Minnie.
Does gouache bleed through a moleskin sketchbook? Also does watercolor bleed through a moleskin sketchbook?
SeyvonTheGenie hey there, if you don't mind i am answering your question , I have got a Moleskine, and no, no bleed throughs. the paper quality is great. 👍 use the artist sketchbook moleskines
y should write a book
those pictures... did you take them with a polaroid?
Paola Peña i think she said she prints them with a printer
