@@crowwithashortcake Lawful at it's core just means you have an internally consistent code. It doesn't have to be a traditional one or come down from some authority. Chaotic elements come from choosing the self-serving regardless of rules. At the core, the only reason he helped was because he thought it would be fun, and Grog is generally gregarious. That's chaotic neutral.

These “down time” episodes where there’s no combat and the party are just exploring or having a good time are some of my favorite episodes.

Keyleth showing PTSD symptoms over illusions and mind control magic is an excellent detail. I wish more campaigns showed that traumatic battle experiences don't just go away after a long rest, it adds so much to the world and the people in it

Reasons;
1. Spoilers: often campaign 1 characters appear in campaign 2 and mention past events that will spoil campaign 1
2. You won't understand most of the jokes in campaign 2 without watching 1 first
3. You miss out on some of the best celebrity geust players that make often appearances in campaign 1 bit don't show up in campaign 2

Yeah. She steals a magic broom and says that she feels bad, before immediately going back into a smile while riding the broom. I don't buy it.
@@copycrow4486 The alignment change did nothing but make Laura stress about her character, and considering they could've easily bought or traded for the broom, had Gern not just instantly dipped, the whole switch makes Matt seem kinda like a dick. Besides, how is one small action worthy of an alignment change to the opposite side of the scale? (She went from neutral good to neutral evil)

The was my first thought
To be fair, that totally fit his character. Vax just wanted to spend time on the road with his friends but Caleb built a house he could carry with him. Scanlon was never really interested in teleportation, so there was no one from this campaign to push for it. In the end Liam's motivation really didn't change, just his interest in minor NPCs

@@bojackhorseman4176 Hell, I work for an irl boss, that thinks that way of his employees.
All of campaign 2, all the development and trauma and travelling and everything, has happened over just 10 months. Seriously, all of it. They've had basically no significant break from emotionally damaging experiences in all that time, with no real down time except a few days here or there to recuperate physically. The only homecomings they've had were just momentary reprieves, and for some like Beau going home was as bad as any battle and basically no different.
Tabletop campaigns, for the characters living them, are every bit as exhausting and traumatic as real life war campaigns. It's not a lifestyle that suits _anyone_ for very long, not that most adventurers survive long enough to die of exhaustion from it; typically the monsters get them first.
@@alexv3357 That's why my Bard settled down in Barovia after the defeat of Strahd.. after politically manuvering himself in such a way to be the uncontested ruler of Barovia. Sure, it took marrying an old lady and a few assassinations, but he's comfortably living as the new master of Castle Ravenloft and Lord of Barovia :D

Matt has such a good poker face most of the time, it took me awhile to notice his expression when Keyleth gives Percy his present...he does at least two double-takes, it seems obvious he's completely surprised by the reveal of an actual, boxed raven skull in this moment. Him realizing just how next-level and deep his girlfriend's (now wife's) talent and role-playing commitment goes is a marvelous thing to behold :-)

I love how Matt throws in these little vacation type episodes after a string of huge, lore heavy, stressful combat episodes. He has a great grasp of the emotional states of his players. Just letting them RP silly shit and have fun. It breathes so much life back into the Campaign. Just recently caught up in Campaign 3 and this reminded me of the Casino episode. Such a masterful DM. 🤘🏻
Keyleth is really growing on me. I came here after catching up to C2, and after hearing all the complaints about Keyleth I thought she'd be the type of character that I would really despise but the last few episodes make me feel like I really understand the type of person that she is. Sentimental and trying her best and figuring herself out, and that gift she gave to Percy really cemented that.
The hate towards Keyleth is severely overblown and honestly gets really petty at times. I like her! She's not my _favorite_ (that was/currently still is Tiberius prior to Orion tainting him with his bad habits) but she's still great.
I definitely notice the things people complain about when watching, and I can see how that could get annoying, but it mostly makes my eyes roll because THIS is what people have been complaining about and it's completely fine. She is great at times and not great at others like all the rest and they don't have to love her, but the hate is really exaggerated.
really late but its so annoying at the hate. Sure Keyleth isnt perfect, but none of them are. Kiki is actually my favorite for how awkward she is. Marisha plays that awkward persona so well.
yeah, Kiki makes mistakes and does great things like all the others. Like when she heated Vax's daggers without knowing they would hurt his hands, she just thought it would be the metal part so she apologized and healed it
Eh, Keyleth is a lot les annoying than Beauregard was in any second. Nothing against Marisha, because I knew from the start I'd hate Beau's character, since the very concept of it was something I'd never remotely like or play.
Keyleth is pretty tolerable. Her campaign 3 character is great tho: Laudna rocks and, while I'm sure ulterior motives exist indirectly there, it is a very funny character.

All the characters are great in their own way but boy, do I love Keyleth. Her talking moments are so poignant, you can feel it in the silences surrounding those. And her ironclad friendship relationship with Percy is just THE best.

Oh, wow... Only watching CR1 now, so it just occurred to me that Laudna might very well have been reanimated at this point. The Sun Tree corpses were already cut down /during/ the rebellion. She could easily have at least heard rumors of Percy wearing his bird-skull looking mask. Wow.
Also, considering who she's harboring, having a beloved little De Rolo mascot has to be some form of rebellion of her own.

I like when people are happy. They seemed to just have fun. I love when everyone's just so happy and having fun with one another. Just a bunch of buddies having a good time
Ikr! It's so nice to see them get a chance to just relax and enjoy themselves. It made me really happy to see them genuinely have fun and not need to worry about the entire party dying within the next five minutes.

Why have I never realised how far away matt sits from the group, I always kinda assumed they were as like a round table or something
They eventually commission several gorgeous Wyrmwood gaming tables, where Matt does sit at one of the points of a square table, in a deep cut-out, with the others at angles to him and to each other. There are studio tours and stuff later where they show it off. And they get a new table again for campaign 3, when they were all VERY stoked to be sitting together once more after the early-pandemic socially-distanced setup which had them all at separate small tables in a giant circle. :)
Oh, the first Wyrmwood table actually has a cameo in the animated show in episode 4! In the room the party retreats to.

I love these (mostly) filler episodes. It’s an amazing thing for Matt to do as DM instead of what a lot of DMs do which is just hard hit the plots and battles without any reprieve. You can see the tension they’ve had the past few episodes sink off and they’re as giddy as if they were actually at the Winter’s Crest festival. My heart is so happy
