@@nnaviation2147 avianca not only offers flat bed seats but also with direct aísle access on all their aircraft bigger than the A320NEO (a320/21NEO, a330-200/300 the ones used for short to medium haul flights) and on the 787 obviously as well for long haul routes

Sure, the corporate logo and livery, but its not from United originally, it was from Continental because they had a close bussiness relationship, Then United adopted it too.

They're are big part of our panamanian pride to have COPA as a very recognized airline and I love it and makes me happy that are slowly reactivating after the lockdown of international flights here in Panama

Since then, Copa has adopted a livery and corporate logo similar to Continental’s (now United). Copa participated in the OnePass frequent flyer program until Continental’s merger with United Airlines.
They also happen to be both part of the STAR ALLIANCE.

Ive been flying Copa Airlines many times from in/out San Juan, Puerto Rico and the service is excellent!! This airline offers hot good food in their flights and the service are really good. The Hub in Panama City is super convinience and you dont need to do customs in Panama City, Panama to make your conections.

Sam love your videos! 6 years ago I flew a Lufthansa charter with 32 Flatbed business class seats on a 737-800 from FRA-DMM, for work in KSA. The only way to enjoy 6-½ hrs. on a single aisle plane. I wish I could post the photos too. Thank for keeping us informed AND entertained!

@Lord Nerotix not sure if your replying to myself or @Macienzie but for me living with a cancer survivor I'm happy to see an airline allowing such a thing ( airlines and the whole industry tend to be very strict about certain things normally).
ClaytonTheCruton COPA takes breast cancer awareness month very seriously, most planes have a pink ribbon on their right side and flight attendants can wear pink ribbons that they give away in their office at Tocumen airport on their uniforms as well. Pilots have the option of wearing the pink stripes.

Copa always is a hit or a miss. The fact is, that only two 737 MAX 9 are owned by COPA. The other airplanes are regular 737NG with standard first class seats. You may get this or as I had some days ago, a 19 year old 737-700 from Panama City to Salvador (6h 45min). It had no IFE nor WiFi. I’d rather fly Avianca to and from South America as they have always good service, and in these medium haul flights you will always fly a widebody which is indeed much more comfortable (a330-200/300 and 787). I know you have flown Avianca Sam. Upload a video only about them! Great video though!
As a matter of fact COPA requested an order of 61 737MAX in order to start discontinuing the embraers 190 and the NG 700
Of which only 7 are MAX 9. The other 54 are MAX 8 which will be exactly the same as their current 737-700/800 but without IFE (very few Copa planes have this in the first place)... copa is turning into a no frills carrier with what they are making and they were very nosy trying to be a part of the new Avianca United alliance which was going to be great, until they came in. BTW: COPA does not fly to Europe or Asia, as their shitty 737’s just can’t get there. Even LCC’s are having 787’s or a330’s (eg: JetStar, Air Asia X, Scoot and many more) but copa is just proud of a 737 MAX 9. Quite unimpressive as well that the “business class” seats don’t have direct aisle acces (as on American a321T or Avianca’s longer planes). Copa just downgraded the service and could not keep up to Avianca and LATAM, undoubtedly the leading airlines in the Latin American market.
@@jeronimocastro3282 nop they changed the order now is 45 MAX 9 and 15 MAX 10. They modernizing their IFE with the copa showpass that you will have on your phone. There are actually 2 planes apart from the max that have this systems their plan is to put in every plane that doesn't have a personal screens.
And before you talk you have to investigate please they do not fly to Europe because they don't want their market is the Americas they don't have plans yet for going to Europe.
@@jorgevillalobos3067 if they could they would and I am sure about that. However if you want to stay on the facts lets stay on the facts. COPA only operates E190's and 737's. Avianca operates loads of planes ranging from the E190 to all of the a320 family and a320/21 NEO which have flat bed seats with all aisle access. A330-200/300 and 787's. Also, Avianca is one of the few airlines to have the 15 year policy. Plane that turns 15 years old, plane that is phased out from service, in order to keep their superb quality and safety standards, as what is happening now with their A318 fleet and some of their oldest A320's. Copa still with planes that have been around for more than 25 years ! Hub: COPA:PANAMÁ old airport. Avianca Brand New bogota Eldorado international airport which has been the best airport in South América for 3 consecutive years. Avianca covers transoceanic routes which copa no matter the reason doesn't so I guess Avianca wins by far the shitty 737 Copa
Years ago I was saying to my colleagues on the 737-800 that it would be possible to have flat bed in Business, they thought I was crazy. Now I feel vindicated, lol! Nice video.
A Boeing 737 MAX is a no no for me after the LION air and Ethiopian Airlines crashes.
I literally don't fly any Airline but Alaska now, and airbus only. If Alaska doesn't fly an airbus somewhere, i just don't go there.

for anyone interested the reason they r grounded is because when the nose is facing up way too much with a/p on, it will go vertical down and instead of taking it off, smaller airlines pilots aren't as experiences meaning they don't know what to do in that situation. BTW ik this bc a relative of mine is head of hq at qantas

I mean, they're fixing the problem and the 737 max will be one of the top selling and safest planes to fly on... look at some other planes that had problems. The manufacturers fixed them, and they regained reputation. The same will happen with the 737 max.

Thank you Sam another great video, i would just like to say that i know you really enjoy making these videos and you get to travel allot, but my main point is, that because people like you and some others who do the same, you actually in a way are raising the standards for everyone who flies. Before we had the internet it was hit and miss regarding flying with different airlines, but because you make these videos potential customers can now be a bit more selective with who they choose to fly with, and in turn bye doing these videos it has also made the airlines raise the game as the know that the competition is fierce and allot of customers will actually decide who to fly with based on what they can see from people like you who make these videos whether its economy business or first class. So a very big thank you.

Flied a lot with Copa while living in Panama, this is the very very first 737 with flat bed. All others use the seats of the second flight, or even older seats with top of the head entertainment system (long routes to south America = Brazil and Argentina, also 6:30h flight time). It was really about the time for Copa to use flatbeds because all long route flights are deep in the night (always leaving 11pm and arriving 6am). Hopefully they can put more 737-MAX operating these routes to US, Canada and South America... By the way, Sam is completely right about the lounge. Next time would suggest him to use the lounge between 11 and 3pm so he will see how a bad lounge can become closer to a bus station with some many people (as the lounge also accepts star alliance, priority pass and KLM/AirFrance)....
So the back of the plane doesn't have seat back entertainment systems? That's not right!

I wish they did this on JetBlue. Hey Sam, try to put the camera in manual focus mode when filming the take off, it helps me when to keep focus on what I want to focus and avoids the camera getting confused on focusing. But I love you videos and thanks for reviewing airlines, you help me make my airline choices when flying. 👍👍👍
