I’m not a fan of pickled cabbage (or any other cabbage). But yeah it’s definitely the time of year for this, soups & stews. Probably the only advantage that winter has 😂
I was raised on this and still make it often, I'd call it more of a stew than hash, try it with tin Mix veg and add an oxo cube for more flavour, in a non shtf add a few dumplings, a cheap meal that stretches.
When I make it for myself & my son (and my daughter before she moved out), I used to add peas & carrots while it boiled. Drain it, mash it & then mix a tin of baked beans into the pan. It gave it a consistency similar to that in the video & added an extra bit of veg in with the beans. Then the kids always had grated cheese on top too. I’d never thought of adding dumplings. I might give that a go next time. Thanks for watching & taking the time to comment
Interesting, not what I would call corned beef hash but still a good example of a good warm and feeling meal you can make cheaply with canned food that will last, great stuff! Edit: typo
I did enjoy it thanks. Mike said his would serve 6, I ate the full pan. Hahaha. Yeah I normally put onion in mine too, but I was following Mike’s recipe so that’s why I left it out this time. Thanks for watching & taking the time to comment
Very nice, love corned beef hash and it’s the weather for it. Red pickled cabbage is nice with it to 👍

@@humanprobably9110 it wasn’t what I would normally have as a corned beef hash too, I know what you mean. But it was bloody lovely & extremely filling
A little bit of onion in there & it would be perfect if you ask me. Great video. I hope you enjoyed it.

that is a stew.
@@linking-it whatever it is, it was delicious 👍
Looks like cheap stew
@bon3s325 it was a cheap stew. And delicious too 😋
@Suburbanpreppers I'm from a working class family from Ireland who lived on stew and cheap meals. Stew is one of my favourite dinners
Mind the price of corned beef is getting crazy. What was once a cheap meat is starting to get as expensive as other meats
Corned beef sandwich with drown sauce. You can't beat it, but as you are saying, it's getting expensive
More like Pig Swill.
