This a video of me on the roof of the Renaissance Center tower. It is the tallest building in Detroit, Michigan. It's a wonder I wasn't killed that day.
I worked in the Ren Cen Tower very regularly around the year 2001. Usually once or twice a week for about a year plus. Sometimes more. The space I had in the Ren Cen was one story below the roof and one above the old restaurant, so I have many pictures and several stories. I was on the roof there many times. I used some of the pictures in the cover art on my newest rock music album "The Wavelength". You can check it out on my Facebook fan page or purchase it on Amazon.
dude, so jealous. im staying there this weekend and Im Shinola's sole videographer. Im taking a stretch at asking but is there anyway to get up there and shoot some footage of the city. I want nothing to do with the edge for obvious reasons hahaha. But damn i would love to grab even a few seconds of video, even if the radio frequencies throw off my camera. Im local in Westland but please let me know. Would really appreciate it. Thanks

2:43, The white building in the background is the beloved Tiger Stadium. RIP 1912-2009
That's interesting how the picture was affected from the radio waves!
I'm fearful of my life just watching.
Imagine if the first "Die Hard" film was set at RenCen.
dude u are nucking futs.. I was just at the top floor today.. Crazy..
@masterbate23 Originally the center tower of the Renaissance Center was a Westin as well
A guy was arrested for free-climbing it today 😅😅😅
that building looks just like the westin peachtree plaza in atlanta
They're pretty much architectural twins.

I don't have access anymore.
Sadly you cannot get into the elevators without a hotel card
Adrian Kepler would great to be up there for the blue angels tomorrow. Jealous
Elevator #2 let’s you go up without a key card, and go up to level 70. Once you’re there, there are two stairwells, one of them goes to the roof.
ALSO.. If they're going to have people doing these jobs.. Would it kill them to put a secure rail around the buildings edges??? Seriously!
gotham is the detroit of the batman universe
Looks like a great view. Did you get any pictures?
OMG I HAD CHILLS 4 U
How do you get up there?
Employees only
Iam 😨 scary just looking at this in.my home
and that's why I will never get THAT job! :D *crosses antennae repair off list of interesting jobs* jk jk jk 0_o
@masterbate23 Because they are both built by the same dude!
Were those signal noises audible up there, or is it just the camera picking it up?
Aren't you concerned about your exposure to RF energy? o_0
were you strapped or tethered to something solid when you were up there?
No
You had a harness right?
No.
If anyone know how to sneak up tell me
