I am so glad you are experimenting with the egg bread recipes! 😋 I have been using indigo nilly recipe with the add in egg yolk 6g powder, and I just last time added 2 tsp acacia gum powder and 1/4 tsp xanthan gum. I baked in a bread baguette mesh pan for French dip sandwiches. They are so close to real bread it's awesome 👌 no nut flours and very low calories.

Just the other day I was thinking about making angel food cake by altering the cloud “bread” recipe. Will definitely give this version a try. Thank you for all your testing and honesty about what works and doesn’t work.
Amazing!!! You have made my cupcake happy place!!! Thank you! I used your recipe but added strawberry flavor and a sprinkle of jello powder in the batter and risked baking them as cupcakes. I rotated then like you recommend and kept a close eye on them. Success! I frosted them with cream cheese frosting made with powdered bocca sweet, lemon juice, and red gel coloring to make pink frosting-keto sprinkles. The grandkids loved them and my picky baker SIL gave me a thumbs up. We both shared a love for strawberry cupcakes but nothing has really hit the mark. Your recipe will be on repeat!❤️❤️❤️
Definitely going to be added to my list of things to make to take to the cottage!! To give it a little sweetness as well one of the things I like to do is take some powdered sweetener and put it into a mesh strainer and tap it over my baked bread danishes and it gave them a real professional fresh from the bakery look to the bread itself, sort of looks like flour. I’m definitely making these and I make a blueberry chia jam from frozen blueberries that I’m sure would enjoy amazing in the whipping cream which I will try because I always take the jam up with us for our keto waffles! Yum!! Thanks for trying this I was hoping you would give it a try and now I can’t wait to try them!! Thanks again!!
I L💗VE angel food cake! I have used another keto recipe (no coconut flour & real eggs) but excited to try this! I always add sprinkles to make it funfetti! 😁🥰 Also HAVE TO try it with your jam! THANK YOU!! 😇
Oh! you've gone down the PSMF hole! I'm on team butter powder. This looks great as for the new year I am going to try and make things keto but I need to lose more fat so I am adding more PSMF days to my week!
I'm so glad you came over to the "dark side" 😆 The angel food cake looks absolutely A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!! 💯 💯 💯 😋 😋 😋 I use PSMF recipes (keto verion) for keto all the time, so I get additional protein in my diet! I will try to get on that we talked about soon. I've been battling with what I'm sure is C.O.V.I.D. 😫 🤒 🤧 Love ya, hon ❤💙💜 p.s. No, it is not probable to over whip the powdered egg whites. In fact, the dryer the meringue, the better it is in the bread. 🤔
Lol yeah, thank you! No rush I am also battling the same thing right now, so I get it. Thank you for confirming my suspicion that you can't over whip egg white powder!
I’ve never had angel food cake. When I looked it up a year or so ago it looked too dry and it just didn’t look appetising to me. Yours looks much nicer! I love the little individual servings. I’ve made a few custards recently and now have egg whites I need to use up. I can see myself having one of these regularly enough for it to be a good way to use up egg whites. I have 12 in the freezer, but in only 2 batches so I’ll either cut the lump of egg whites in half before defrosting or I’ll make a double batch. From now on I’ll freeze them with only 3 per bag.
I'm so excited about this video that I had to comment before watching. I will also give you my recipe take on the PSMF Wonder bread that Maria makes. It was a combination of Maria's recipe, Indigo Nili's take and someone else that I don't remember so can't give credit but basically I take 12 egg whites and add a scant 1/4 cup allulose, 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. cream of tartar, 1 tsp. quick acting yeast (just for flavoring though I've been thinking of somehow proofing it with a little honey first), 1/2 tsp salt and blend it to extremely stiff peaks then I fold in 1/4 cup whole egg powder and 3/4 cup egg white powder. I bake in a parchment lined glass loaf pan for 30 minutes at 325 and then leave in for another 20 - 30 minutes with the oven off and closed then pull out. If I could figure out how to send you a picture of a slice of it compared to Sunbeam bread side by side I would. Now I'm going to finish watching, LOL
I've also been wondering about a little coconut flour or oat flour would help the texture as well. Right now if I get it the slightest under baked it will tend to have that "eggy" wet sound and feel to it. If you haven't seen, Carnivores Angel has made "Hawaiian Rolls" but the first time I made them they were like Styrofoam and even had the squeak to it. Second time I made some tweaks and the texture was great but they fell so flat. Third time I tried some more tweaks and it didn't have as good of flavor or texture but wasn't as bad as the first time. Anyway, all this to tell you that you might want to look up that recipe as well. I know Maria made a video of it now too but I'm not sure it is exactly the same but I would love to perfect some Hawaiian rolls.
There are so many variations possible it makes my head spin. I've already went through almost 2 bags just testing my variations. There are so many recipes I want to make, I'll probably put out my one bread variation for now then go back to it after my wedding because I have to get going on other things. But I will keep Hawaiian rolls on my radar for future testing.
I screwed up by adding powdered stevia, so they taste somewhat bitter. But I can't believe the texture, amazing. I feel guilty eating them, because it feels like I'm eating carbs. Thanks for the recipe, can't wait to try your psmf bread!
Can't wait to try this recipe, looks amazing 👏🏼 😋😍 I've been obsessed with the Hawaiian bread recipe from Carnivore's Angel, I made her cinnabon variation recently. Can't wait to possibly combine your recipe with that one. You'll probably have a video out before I experiment so I'll just wait for yours😉👍
Perfect timing! I am preparing my lemon curd to top your Angel food cake with!! Would you say that they are more delicate and fluffy with the egg white powder & water option or with the fresh egg whites? Thanks for all your recipes!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome!! Hope it turns out great!! I didn't try the fresh eggs version, I don't really think it would make much of a difference in texture. The powdered egg whites is just more of an easier, stable way to do it. Fresh egg whites, a lot can go wrong, the powder is kinda full proof.
I'm on an angel food cake mission, so thank you for this good looking recipe! The one I made today, I feel its a bit dry, but I used swerve, curious to see the difference with allulose.
Happy Monday! I just figured out that you were in Buffalo. Here's a challenge for you - Keto Sponge Candy! A Buffalo creation, Sponge candy is one of my favorites! Thank you for all you do!
Happy Monday to you too. Oh believe me I have tried several times already!!! I love love love sponge candy!!!! And sponge candy is one of the first difficult recipes I made in high school. So I know how to make it but alas it is still eluding me. And just like the French macarons, it is very frustrating!!!! You're welcome and believe me I will keep trying, lol!
@@KetoUpgrade Those sugar replacements just don't behave. I watched one of your videos, maybe about bread. Anyway, you said to mix the eggs for 5 minutes. With a hand mixer, that relates to 50 seconds in my head. I just ordered a Kitchen Aid mixer. Woohoo!
@@n3kma no they don't and it's very annoying! Lol Yeah thats the problem with using a hand mixer, you are probably never going to do the full time. Yay to new kitchen gadgets! Hope you love it!
You can use any whey protein isolate, I did try vanilla pea protein but they didn't turn out as light and fluffy. You may be able to just leave it out like in a regular psmf bread recipe doesn't have any whey protein powder in it. The overhead view is just my phone mounted above my cutting board.
I made the original protein sparing bread back awhile ago and my husband and I almost choked to death, not kidding. What has changed with this recipe, or what possibly did I do wrong. I'm afraid to try anything with it.
You're welcome! The raspberry sauce is just jam. The recipe is in my thumbprint cookie video. I always make extra jam when I make it to have for whatever. th-cam.com/video/SpGCjUchUKM/w-d-xo.html
Love Indigo Nili too! Curious to know if oat fiber & yeast for flavor in the psmf bread would work, I’m out of allulose & egg white powder, can’t afford to get any at the moment 😖 Really enjoy your channel!
I have used yeast. Both dry in batter and proofing it first. Both gave a fine outcome. I also used nutritional yeast for flavor. It might have been my nutritional yeast, but it made my bread sour. Sourdough? I personally didn't care for it. I subbed Nili's acadia fiber for oat fiber. I could smell it in the loaf while baking, but it did not change the flavor. Its such a small amount. I think it may help the structure of the loaf just a bit.
well, I been watching you make these breads and I wanted angel food cake for so long, I just spent $80 on amazon getting the ingredients I need. I hope it works.
I've tried it successfully in my cake recipes but had to alter the recipe quite a bit. Adding more coconut flour and less liquid. This recipe is completely different though. Maybe you can double the coconut and only use half the amount of the whey for beef protein. I'm not sure if it will work though. I tried plant based protein with this recipe and it turned out but I didn't like the taste.
As I was watching, I was checking ✔ off every ingredient and I am so excited I almost everything! Is the allulose (?) A granular or is it more like confectioners? I can't wait to try this! 😋
I've never used anything but allulose powder, all the ones in the description box are ones I've used in the past and they all work the same. It's like a cross between granular and confectioners. It doesn't work like a powdered confectioners sweetener like you need for frostings and such.
@@royceealmanza5689 Is it really granular? I've never seen allulose the was big granuals. If that's the case, then you cam blend it a bit but I don't think it will make much difference in this particular recipe if it's a little bit bigger granules.
Thank you for this recipe, I have been looking for a keto version of savarin. Can this pass as it? Can this cake be baked in a brioche form and soaked in syrup or soaking is not necessary with it? I think I’ve come to the best place to ask this with your expertise 😊 Thank you
I've never heard of that cake before. Looked it up and I don't think this would be your best bet. Maybe my keto butter rum cake recipe which I cut in half so I didn't have to make a whole bundt cake. So you could double that and make the syrup for a savarin cake instead of the butter rum sauce? Hope that helps, you're welcome.
Will try this later tonight and update you. Thinking what I have to add without the whip cream as I'm Lactose sensitive. 🤔 Maybe a little of ghee (mostly Lactose free) melted with sweetner on top with the lemon zest.
Awesome! If you have a can of coconut cream, put it in the fridge for a few hours, take out and scrap off the thick cream and whip with some powdered sweetener, really delicious. The ghee sounds good too though! Hope you enjoy!
@@KetoUpgrade guess what? I messed up this recipe #1. I didn’t see that the egg white needs to be separate before adding some other things...so it was a bowl of liquid. Lol Next time will follow to the key! So I didn’t want the ingredients go to waste so I merge this recipe #2 and added this recipe #1 (minus the lemon, added only two whole eggs instead of three because it had already the egg white powder from your recipe. It sort of came out like a cheese cake consistency because of the xangum I think. The next day, of course it taste better and especially warm from putting it in the microwave. I did minus the lemon and 1 tablespoon of coconut flour (cuz recipe #1 had it) plus used another oil instead of coconut. I’m not a baker so probably measurement wise it could be better...yet came out pretty good. Recipe #2 I’m talking about is this: th-cam.com/video/W5l0zFShSsI/w-d-xo.html
I’m interested to know what you think of the taste and texture of the psmf bread and flour recipes and how it would compare to say a ‘real’ white sandwich bread. I haven’t dived in yet myself and like you I’m not doing psmf as a diet, I’m doing keto. I’d like to know if it’s good because it’s as good as you can expect with the ingredients you can use on psmf OR is it just plain good? I love your videos and extra-ness 😜 the more extra the better in my opinion haha especially when it comes to sweets
I will be diving into my thoughts on the bread in a future video but all in all it seems to be a pretty good replacement for white bread, especially with Indigo Nili's add ins. Glad you love my extra-ness lol. I always want to bring the best because life without awesome desserts is no life at all. 😋
Allulose is a sugar derived from figs that the body doesn't recognize as sugar so you don't get an insulin spike and it goes right through the body having no impact.
If it is straight pure stevia you can use a tiny bit but it won't do anything but add sweetness. The loaf won't brown as much or be as soft. But it won't hurt anything.
I've made enough of this recipe and its variations I think I can answer this. The allulose is for the caramelized effect. Without it, your loaf is white. No brown "crust". It may look funny but tastes the same. Allulose caramelized faster than the other sweeteners. You can substitute it. Your loaf just won't appear as golden.
@@kdove2110 OK thank you. As with the PSMF bread I only add a smaller amount than some just to brown. So could do the same here. Fantastic and thanks for the reply
@@jmom687 Yes. To my 100g egg white recipe, I only add a tablespoon of allulose. I don't care for the darker crust. To me, allulose becomes quite bitter when it gets deep brown.
😆Growing up my goto birthday cake was angel food cake with chocolate whip cream icing. I haven't had it in years, since going lowcarb then keto. My Birthday is in 2 days .... SCORE 😁
@@KetoUpgrade …they turned out great! Next time I will add a full tsp of stevia…they weren’t quite sweet enough for me. 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 THANKS SO MUCH!
Everyone has different taste buds when it comes to natural sweeteners, I use that liquid stevia in my coffee every morning with no cream or anything and I use quite a lot, I don't find it having any aftertaste. If you are sensitive to stevia you can cut it back a little.
@@KetoUpgrade not nit picking..I just like it! I love your videos. Hmmmm I was thinking….what could you do with hemp hearts? “Faux Rice Pudding” maybe with some cinnamon, Allulose and vanilla extract? If anyone can make it, you can!
don't think so, but I haven't tried subbing all the flour for protein but you will definitely need a lot more protein than coconut flour because the coconut flour is so absorbent.
Hi, This is a BRITISH SPICE BLEND formulated in the early 1800’s. It is what flavours HOT CROSS BUNS. Could this be added to this cake? How much? For a Hot Cross Buns Cake! Without the fruit. Thanks, Glad🇨🇦Toronto
Thanks, and welcome!! I don't know what you mean by plain, they are all made of something different? There are tons of different kinds of protein powders (plant, soy, pea, etc.) but whey is really the only one I experiment with because it gives a nice fluffy texture to keto baked goods.
@@KetoUpgrade thank you:-) Im sorry, Im not english speaking so I may have trouble finding the right words :-)) With plain I mean just egg white protein powder, not whey protein. Most of the whey protein powder I can find here (in Denmark) has carbs in it, and I really dont know if there is a difference between using egg white protein powder and whey protein powder :-)
@@jpf4908 oh ok. There is a big difference between whey protein and egg white protein. Whey protein isolate is like more refined form of milk powder without the lactose. Egg white protein is just a fancier name for powdered egg whites literally that's it.
@@KetoUpgrade ahhh, thank you for explaining that, it cleared up some of the confusion I have with many of these products - also because i can mostly get products containing sugar or other carbs here (even our meat contain sugars) so I have been searching the internet in the big US :-)) oh, btw - Indigo Nili showed her trick on weighing "backwards" so mishaps dont occur in a video - she puts the ingredient container on the scale and set it to zero before she takes out whatever she needs. The scale counts backwards and its easier to get the right measurement like that :-)))...just thought I would mention it, it makes things easier :-)
@@jpf4908 you're welcome! Sorry its so hard to get stuff without sugar, I thought the US was bad with added sugar, we have some meat with sugar but you can usually find it without. Oh and I saw that on Indigo nilis channel, it's hard to break a habit of doing something one way that I've been doing for years, ever since pastry school 16 years ago.
If you are talking about the whip cream, cold solid part of coconut cream will whip and aquafaba (the liquid in a can of chickpeas) will whip but I don't know how many carbs are in the aquafaba.

I will try to get on that we talked about soon. I've been battling with what I'm sure is C.O.V.I.D. 😫 🤒 🤧
Love ya, hon ❤💙💜
@@KetoUpgrade you're welcome, hon! I hope you feel better soon!! ❤💙💜

Glad you are enjoying my recipes and my channel! Thanks for the lovely comment!
It looks delicious can't wait to make it. Would love your JAM RECIPE. Thanks
Hope you enjoy! My jam recipe is in the thumbprint cookie video- th-cam.com/video/SpGCjUchUKM/w-d-xo.html
You're Welcome!
@@KetoUpgrade thank you
Thank you for what you do!
You're very welcome!
Thank you
You're welcome!
I’ll try it!
Aww well I'm glad they still turned out well! You are very welcome!!
Can't wait to try this recipe, looks amazing 👏🏼 😋😍
I've been obsessed with the Hawaiian bread recipe from Carnivore's Angel, I made her cinnabon variation recently. Can't wait to possibly combine your recipe with that one. You'll probably have a video out before I experiment so I'll just wait for yours😉👍
Thank you! Hope you enjoy. I have many ideas, just don't know when I'll get to them, lol.
You are awesome ! Ty 💕
Aww thanks!😊 You're welcome!
You're welcome, the allulose makes them soft and moist! Hope you enjoy!
Lol
Yeah thats the problem with using a hand mixer, you are probably never going to do the full time. Yay to new kitchen gadgets! Hope you love it!

Angel food usually has almond flavoring too
Looks delicious , I look forward to making this…can the ISOPURE be subbed for another ingredient? Also what do you use to get the great overhead view?
You can use any whey protein isolate, I did try vanilla pea protein but they didn't turn out as light and fluffy. You may be able to just leave it out like in a regular psmf bread recipe doesn't have any whey protein powder in it. The overhead view is just my phone mounted above my cutting board.
Yes u can over whip.
I made the original protein sparing bread back awhile ago and my husband and I almost choked to death, not kidding. What has changed with this recipe, or what possibly did I do wrong. I'm afraid to try anything with it.
thank you so much for this. Do you have the recipe for the raspberry reduction sauce? I can’t wait to make it,
You're welcome! The raspberry sauce is just jam. The recipe is in my thumbprint cookie video. I always make extra jam when I make it to have for whatever.
th-cam.com/video/SpGCjUchUKM/w-d-xo.html
Love Indigo Nili too! Curious to know if oat fiber & yeast for flavor in the psmf bread would work, I’m out of allulose & egg white powder, can’t afford to get any at the moment 😖
Really enjoy your channel!
Just follow my videos and recipes and it should turn out great! Happy baking!
@@KetoUpgrade Aw thanks so much!!!!
If I have an allergy to whey protein...would a beef protien powder work instead??? Or is there another substitute you'd recommend?
I've tried it successfully in my cake recipes but had to alter the recipe quite a bit. Adding more coconut flour and less liquid. This recipe is completely different though. Maybe you can double the coconut and only use half the amount of the whey for beef protein. I'm not sure if it will work though. I tried plant based protein with this recipe and it turned out but I didn't like the taste.
As I was watching, I was checking ✔ off every ingredient and I am so excited I almost everything! Is the allulose (?) A granular or is it more like confectioners? I can't wait to try this! 😋
I was wondering this as well. She has several allulose products listed in the description.
I've never used anything but allulose powder, all the ones in the description box are ones I've used in the past and they all work the same. It's like a cross between granular and confectioners. It doesn't work like a powdered confectioners sweetener like you need for frostings and such.
@@KetoUpgrade do you suppose running what I bought through my food processor might make it a better consistency? 🤔
@@royceealmanza5689 Is it really granular? I've never seen allulose the was big granuals. If that's the case, then you cam blend it a bit but I don't think it will make much difference in this particular recipe if it's a little bit bigger granules.
@@KetoUpgrade Thank you so much for your help and clarification. I can't wait to make this!
Keto Upgrade Thank you 😊
Will try this later tonight and update you.
@@KetoUpgrade good idea! Thanks
@@colorfulforesight you're welcome!
How do you recommend freezing since a seal a meal will crush em' ?
I just threw them in a ziplock freezer bag and got as much air out as possible.
If you were going to make this 'dairy free', what would you replace the whey with?
There is no lactose in Isopure whey protein isolate but if you want it vegan I tried pea, it works but I don't like the taste of it.
Did you use avocado spray for the mesh pan?
Yes I always use avocado oil spray.
@@KetoUpgrade I could not agree more! Keep up the great desserts, looking forward to upcoming videos :)
Can you try cinnamon rolls psmf
I've already been thinking about that.
I have vanilla and chocolate egg white protein powder and wonder if I can use those with this recipe?
I think they would work but I didn't buy any flavored egg white protein, so can't say for sure.
Do you think you could use this batter in a bunt pan?
Maybe if you double it but I would be worried about stickage, it even stuck some to the silicon after I sprayed it.
Is the baking time the same using a springform pan
Should be similar but just keep an eye on it.
Could you spoon these into silicon cupcake molds?
Yes
Hi I’m new to your channel! ❤😊you’ve mentioned it several times in the vid, but What’s allulose?
Allulose is a sugar derived from figs that the body doesn't recognize as sugar so you don't get an insulin spike and it goes right through the body having no impact.
I can’t afford the cost of Allulose , but have powder stevia , can i use that as an replacement?
If it is straight pure stevia you can use a tiny bit but it won't do anything but add sweetness. The loaf won't brown as much or be as soft. But it won't hurt anything.
Brilliant would you suggest using erythritol/stevia blend if you have no allulose ?
Wondering if you can add almond flour instead of coconut flour? 3Tbs of almond flour to 1 Tbs 🥥. Perhaps?
Possibly might work.
Thank you chef...keto chef extraordinaire!
@@patsemi1722 You're welcome! 😊
Can you use vanilla flavored isopure?
Should be fine, might want to cut the sweetener down a bit because of the added sweetener in the flavored.
😆Growing up my goto birthday cake was angel food cake with chocolate whip cream icing. I haven't had it in years, since going lowcarb then keto. My Birthday is in 2 days .... SCORE 😁

Hi! I am planning on making these tomorrow, but do you think they would turn out okay in a muffin-sized cup? I only have a 6 opening donut pan. Ty
Should be fine, hope you enjoy!
@@KetoUpgrade …they turned out great! Next time I will add a full tsp of stevia…they weren’t quite sweet enough for me. 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 THANKS SO MUCH!
What size is your Kitchenaid mixer?
5qt.
So no stevia aftertaste with this recipe?
Everyone has different taste buds when it comes to natural sweeteners, I use that liquid stevia in my coffee every morning with no cream or anything and I use quite a lot, I don't find it having any aftertaste. If you are sensitive to stevia you can cut it back a little.
Would this work in cupcake form
It should, might need to bake a little longer though.
Oh and I can’t find the immersion blender link.

@@KetoUpgrade not nit picking..I just like it! I love your videos. Hmmmm I was thinking….what could you do with hemp hearts? “Faux Rice Pudding” maybe with some cinnamon, Allulose and vanilla extract? If anyone can make it, you can!
Could u also sub coconut flour for protine power?
don't think so, but I haven't tried subbing all the flour for protein but you will definitely need a lot more protein than coconut flour because the coconut flour is so absorbent.
Hi, This is a BRITISH SPICE BLEND formulated in the early 1800’s.

How much? For a Hot Cross Buns Cake! Without the fruit.

hI :-) I just found you, and love what I have seen so far
Will anything whip like that, that is non-dairy?
If you are talking about the whip cream, cold solid part of coconut cream will whip and aquafaba (the liquid in a can of chickpeas) will whip but I don't know how many carbs are in the aquafaba.
