I am the wrong person to ask about USB ports on the TV - I don't think I turned on the TV once during our recent trip. I did search the FaceBook group called WE LOVE THE EXCELLENCE RIVIERA CANCUN - and according to one post from November 2018, there are not USB ports on the TV. Enjoy your upcoming trip! I also love ERC so much!
Hey Bill - Yes the main lobby (and the Martini Bar on the lower level - down those majestic stairs) are all A/C - not open air... Thanks for the kind words!
Thank you for doing these videos. My husband and I are doing our first all inclusive next year at Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya. Out of all of the all inclusive resorts you have been too, is there one you consider “home”? What would be your top 3?
Hi Mindy - We have been to ten different adult-only, all-inclusive resorts - all but one of them were in Mexico; the exception being a resort in Jamaica. We have pretty much decided that the Cancun area is best for us - direct flights make the travel part of our vacations much easier. We have not been to VIM so I cannot comment directly on that resort (although I have seen favorable reviews about VIM in both TripAdvisor and on FaceBook). We have talked about our favorite 3 and they are Excellence Riviera Cancun, Excellence Playa Mujeres and Secrets Maroma Beach. Next Spring we are planning on returning to Secrets Maroma - but frankly any of those 3 favorite resorts would be just fine by me. One thing that I have learned when naming one as 'Home' is that each vacation trip is different and to expect that the next time we visit a resort on a return trip we try to treat it as a new experience - and not to be too critical in comparing old memories with things that may have changed since last time. I hope you all have a great time at VIM. Vacation planning and researching is half the fun. We watched a ton of TH-cam videos and joined FaceBook groups to get pumped up about our upcoming trip.
@@ginabyrd503 That is a difficult question to answer for me. We had booked our Spring 2020 trip to return to ERC primarily to reconnect with a group that we meet there in Spring 2019. We had to cancel that trip due to the Covid pandemic. We are ready to get back to Cancun this Fall. We tried to book a trip to EPM this Fall, but I guess because they are still only allowed to be at 60% occupancy, our preferred room type was not available. So we ended up booking Secrets Maroma Beach. We try to do 2 trips per year, and next up for us will be EPM in the Spring of 2022. My wife and I like all three resorts and try to keep it new and interesting each trip. There are always changes each time we go. I know that doesn't exactly answer your question, but for us, the differences between the resorts make each place unique. By the way, flights for our next trip are going to be a bummer. We used to get direct flights (Phoenix to Cancun) but American Airlines has cut back on the schedule and we now will have to connect through Dallas. Hopefully as things get more back to normal, they will add back the old flights and make our travel more hassle-free. And maybe the resorts will open up more room reservations and we can all enjoy the way we used to travel. Whether you end up at EPM or try ERC, I hope you have a great trip!
