I’ve never had an issue with micro transactions in free to play games. They’ve got to make their money somewhere, and I’d rather it be there than in adds
I love the game. Especially since you can already have a massive impact with just the basic squads. Like the different campaigns and the upgrading of weapons, soldiers and squads a lot. It would be worth it for me to pay a single amount for the game. However I think the prices for the premium squads are way to high considering you only unlock them for 1 campaign. There is only 1 bug i encounter and that is that sometimes npcs keep falling through the floor in the Stalingrad campaign, even though that was said to be fixed in the last update. I'll keep on playing and having fun!
I agree about the prices, however I also think they monetise them rather strangely, as I'd be honest... most premium squads actually kind of suck. let me explain, this mainly has to do with how customizable squads are - you can have a premium squad of 4 fully decked out PPD40 dudes on Battle of Berlin, or... You can have assaulters all with PPD40s as soon as level 20 (not so soon but still), and that squad can have like... 8 people, anti tankers, engineers, snipers, radio operators, heavy gunners, riflemen(or as I call them, grenadiers) etc., instead of just these 4 soldiers with PPDs that I believe are actually inferior to the ones you can unlock in the campaign at level 20. Without paying a penny. Otherwise, they are very very decent for early levels, if anything, for the huge EXP bonus you get for playing as one...
War thunder is 1000x worse, even with premium tank and acc it takes ages to grind the tree. Only annoying thing are silver and gold orders they should drop way more often.
One of the best free to play games I have played among the other games of the genre and theme. Its incredibly fun and addictive even without spending a penny.
Yup i built an AA gun in the shed on normandy as the allies were advancing and shredding them as they entered the property was the highlight of my week
I really loved it at first but the painfully slow progression(kinda pushing you to buy premium) is what made the game stale for me, since unlocking new stuff takes ages and sometimes it's not even a squad i necessarily want to use
Played it at release, restarted it just today. The pay 2 win took a few steps backwards I believe, it is still there, no doubt, but progression got smoother when they removed the academy mechanic and made everything logistics only, while removing the random drops from logistics as well. It is so much easier and faster to get to a lvl5 soldier and upgrading equipment fully is almost a non issue now. I can't speak for an entire beginners progression, but as someone who returned after half a year this is extremely rewarding to play. I still hate a couple things though. I hate having to progress both sides of 5 campaigns, meaning I have to effectively progress 10 different factions. Considering how slow it becomes after lvl 15 or so it is just a drag, luckily you have all the essentials until then. I still do not like the balancing of certain equipment and the AI - if playing squads - is still horribly unreliable.
Great game to play inconsistently. The slow progression makes it frustrating at times but enough free to play players where matches feel fair. Every now and then squads will get mowed down by someone with a much nicer weapon hard to tell if they paid for it or just been grinding but can be frustrating. Happily don't see too many flamethrowers and full auto long range machine guns clearing house too often. Great game
5:10 youve hit a Panther G with a T-70 and done nothing to him... so even though its "a hit in the turret" its nothing but a scratch to his 105mm of armor at the point of your hit...but thanks for the video, it was usefull!

Yes, you will likely get a few bot players, but not many, and it depends on the faction/campaign as some are more popular than others. Some campaigns and factions you may never see a bot, others you will see a few more.
I would rather play this then COD or Battlefield. Man if they can fix the gunplay, the ranking system, and add full weapon modifications this game will easily be a competitor.
I make a lot of in depth videos on the game and I must say I agree with many of your opinions. Many people think it's P2W but seriously it isn't at all! All early game weapons and equipment can be as good as late game weapons and equipment if used well. Prices of things are absolutely ridiculous, but luckily for everyone, you don't need to spend a penny on the game to level up and unlock almost all the very cool and powerful weapons, whilst the premium squads are good but not overpowered, so it's balanced well. That being said, gameplay, immersion, historical accuracy and the "fun" of the game is improving after every update, making the game awesome to play. I look forward to your future videos on the game and your opinions on things too!
I'd say the grind slows past lvl 10. But that's actually good for me at least because it gives me time to max my squads are really get them tweaked right. Honestly those first few levels I had squads and guns thrown at me so quick I got overwhelmed.

You can try the game, see if you like it and then buy your premium time. But IT IS pay to progress. Idk your life, but I know I wouldn't advice that game to a F2P friend, unless he has at the very least 15hours a week to play. Wich most people do not have. (I think that a lot of gamer forget that part. Most ppl don't have the time to play several hours a day). A casual player who plays 2-5 hours a week, can't progress if he doesn't pay. Denying that, is delusional. (Shit 2-5 hours a week you won't get far even with premium. It will be mounthes of grind for one single campaign)
I frankly just don't trust Gaijin with a game on the long run. I'm sure it's decent right now, but I've seen what happens with their games years down the line.
I'm so happy Gaijin has made this game. For so long people have been wondering "What if.." What if we could jump out of tanks and run into a better fighting position when our tank is becoming unrepairable, what if we could parachute out of planes and try to find our way back to the airfield/survive onslaught as you get back to safety or give your enemies a 1-man onslaught rambo style with no plans to go back to the airfield.
This game is a masterpiece. I am away from my gaming PC for a few months now, and I so miss playing and being a part of all the new updates and events.
This game has a lot of potential, but i feel like the movement/animations need some polish, it just feels a little stiff and jank and takes you out the emersion sometimes
I still find the fact (even with the new rank system) that it is not fair that a level 35 player can play against a level 2 player. It makes it extremely hard to get started.
pretty good game love that fact that it also has mod support wonder if a mod like Mordhau's Mestaria is possible where it turns the game into an MMORPG maybe something like Foxhole would be awesome but cool game nonetheless
Leveling up without paying is doable if you really like the game, but I would recommend membership to start off, or it will take forever. The Stalingrad campaign added even more aggressive pay schemes, so I have opted out of that one. I suggest any other campaign for new players. Also recommend just upgrading a few bolt actions & antitank/smoke nades (both work great against high tier stuff). Keep these until you unlock the weapons you want, that way you have the currency to buy and upgrade your favorite when it's available. Love the game, biggest drawback has been the appearance of hard tiered weapons. It's really grubby to add direct upgrades like FG42->FG42II (the high tier version simply has half the recoil and faster reload).
I spent 10e worth on the coins to buy pistols for all of my Tunisia campaign Axis squad members and boy was it a game changer. I no longer have to act like a cripple with the bolt action rifles in close quarters combat. But I only have that in just the Tunisia campaign with the Axis only. I need to spend more to get the same gear to the other teams and other campaigns and man it's going to be a grind if I don't spend a dime on this game. Almost feels like pay to win.
@@_MaZTeR_ you'll soon get plenty more though as you unlock new pilot squads they all come with pistols. I can't fly for shit so immediately strip the pistols off. They are definitely useful for the bolt actions guys, but once you unlock semi auto rifles the pistol's really are relegated to sniper's or remaining bolt action soldiers as backup.
@@donge9589 That's the thing, I played Tunisia for a while and I think I only recently unlocked the radio operator team. I got bored of that campaign and switched to Berlin and I only just got the first fighter pilot. Progress is so damn painfully slow that they're deliberately trying to get you to use real money.
@@_MaZTeR_ yeah no argument here, I actually bought an Xbox just so I could play this when it first launched, I have only maxed out allies on Normandy, well I say that but they have added more levels since. All my other campaigns are at various levels. I just play it for enjoyment, because for all its grind and bugs there isn't anything else quite like it on console. In that I mean WW2 based shooter with ai squadmates, I like the pacing which reduces the walking simulation You tend to get with more hardcore games like hell let loose. I honestly think they should give players a way to get 1 example of each weapon early so they can outfit one of their soldiers with it, it may keep early game people engaged enough to keep grinding so they can unlock said weapon and buy them for other soldiers.
@John Hathorne Star Wars Republic commando, Brothers in Arms: Road to hill 30, Ghost Recon Rogue Spear, SWAT 3 and 4 just to name a few, they all do the AI much better than this game, you will also find that the AI commands are extremely comparable to this game, move here, defend this, attack here, shoot there, suppression fire etc. I guess you just haven't played many tactical shooters. EDIT: I forgot to highlight, all of these games are "old" games, so it's not lack of technology, just laziness/lack of skill by these devs
@John Hathorne DICE has made quite significant AI for battlefront 2. Yes it has much larger budget but it's an old game at this point. I would say Enlisted is about a 3/10 AI overall. This is not a problem in general, but it gets horrendous when you try to grasp the fact that this game is basically an AI shooter. If I had the opportunity to command AI clones in Battlefront 2 in a similar fashion (or with more options), or if Enlisted had at least half as much advanced AI, I would get chills. Maybe in the future from another dev.

There is Hell let Lose and other realistic WW2 shooters in the recent years but Enlisted is the most fun for me. With the Bots and combined arms it feels like war and they got a perfect mix of arcade and realism i think. Sadly as a dad my time is more limited for enlisted than i want too. Reading the updates from time to time iam really impressed how far this game came in such short period
I dont understand why some people criticize the game heavily because of the grind or the microtransactions, I mean I literally paid 0 dollars to the game and I have no issue killing people with 1 or 2 shots with a Kar 98 bolt action. There is absolutely no downsides to go full f2p and not spend a penny. The more you play the more you unlock squads, attachments, rifles and it never felt too grindy to me. I mean its better to have a F2P game with this approach than to have a crappy AAA release you paid 60 bucks for and see how they try to shove in-game purchases down your throat. Its a really solid game with details you'd expect from a triple A release, solid optimization and beautiful graphics. I never had any performance issues with a 1660Super. So if you're not obsessed with having all the best equipment and dont mind grind at all, try it.
exactly, people forget the development team is small and you can’t blame them for needing a little bit of money to keep the game going. even then. being free 2 play and me spending only $25 only on the normandy campaign alone. i still manage to get plenty of kills placing my bots strategically with 5 star soldiers and weapons. the game has been getting a lot of content and update it’s crazy.
This game is quite pay2win and absolutely brutal for free players. The few days of beginning premium given was so easy to upgrade and salughter everyone, and respawn with a huge number of different squads to choose from, as well as upgrade your squad members and fill in new members making huge squads....yeah, I remember how nice it was to start.....
Gaijin can be really difficult to remove from your computer and it will automatically update whether you want it to or not. I love warthunder but gaijin is malware.
“software that is specifically designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to a computer system.” Well none of that applies to gaijin. And console users deal with auto updates too. Suggest reading about malware

I found their software extremely aggressive to my system; files not appearing where they should be and vice versa, constant marketing pop ups. They disabled some of my administration tools while not including basic fuctions/options within the client. It took me days to purge it from my system, and only with the help of other desperate folk driving into the forums. Gaijin are, or at least were leaching off the back of their game designers and customers.
I still remember the Stalingrad map update I forgot the entire name. Of it. Like woah. That Air raid and everything. Make me play like 12 days in a row on Enlisted and then stops due to school problems xd
The pyramid has the right slope on this one. Walk in for free, and actually enjoy it as a public experience. Pay into it, and you get rewards that don't break the public spirit.
TBH the way premium squads work in this game they make more sense to be used by Lone Fighters and less in Squads mode. A premium squad is nearly always worse than basically any free squad.
idk, unlike warthunder enlisted can be played as an unpaid experience and it doesn't feel like you need to pay to grind like warthunder, everything is not really given to you, but it feels historic and you can grind within that historic experience which I love
did they make the game more optimized/less heavy graphics wise? i can get 30-50 fps on war thunder and usually get 50 fps in airbattles but i never got above 20 fps in enlisted.
How nice would it be to have the battle for Norway or the battle for the Netherlands in it? With English Parachuters or german Paras that actually jump out of planes.? Maybe anything that's not seen to often in games

Chill bro, they are only on two campaigns. The German rocket truck you can one shot with a Stuart. I one shot the tiger two with a t-34/85. It's no more op than any other tank. What we really need is a rework to air combat. We need AI planes for players to focus on to lvl effectively, and we need more abilities to counter bombers with more player air slots. There shouldn't be a trade off between tanks and planes. Enlisted can handle more than one plane a team during a match with how big the sky box is. AA tanks and more infantry transport vehicles would help too. Why are their only trucks on Oasis and Stalingrad?

Enlisted is made by darkflow who is associated with gaijin who I think is helping them financially, so I think darkflow are not trying to do as many micro transactions but gaijin are forcing them to. Not sure about that though.
I would like to see, that NPC soldiers are using natural covers or builded structures/baricades. They should crouch, stick to walls, blind fire from covers etc.

Even worse than in war thunder, one side just have better tanks or planes or weapons or everything, For example. I know i am good at this game, when i care about game and not playing just for fun i can be top1 just because, BUT even if. My 70% winrate on moscow allies is i think just because germany suffers here. And im not stopping. I need to have marshall grade, time for that is lol so im caring so much to win, and i lose like 3 games from 20 and if im losing its just where i have 8k points and second best have 2,5. Literally i had a game where i had more kills and points that other 9 people in team together thats disgusting

Where are these microtransactions, I've finished 4 campaigns completely free, there's plenty of paid squads but if you actually count those as microtransactions i think someone needs to tell you what a microtransaction is.
I can't stand this game because they literally ripped a ton of the assets from an earlier title game they made. Same guns, visuals, sounds everything. Sure this is a completely different gameplay experience but it just upsets me.
To be completely honest I think the free to play part of this game is WAY better than the free to play side of War Thunder (1.0-6.3 BR)

It takes about 30-60 seconds to find a match. And it will populate with bots to balance teams

I want to see a war type mode like CoD WW2 has. NPC soldiers. Higher players/AI limit, Big maps, and of course objectives

Keep these until you unlock the weapons you want, that way you have the currency to buy and upgrade your favorite when it's available. Love the game, biggest drawback has been the appearance of hard tiered weapons. It's really grubby to add direct upgrades like FG42->FG42II (the high tier version simply has half the recoil and faster reload).
I spent 10e worth on the coins to buy pistols for all of my Tunisia campaign Axis squad members and boy was it a game changer. I no longer have to act like a cripple with the bolt action rifles in close quarters combat. But I only have that in just the Tunisia campaign with the Axis only. I need to spend more to get the same gear to the other teams and other campaigns and man it's going to be a grind if I don't spend a dime on this game. Almost feels like pay to win.
Make sure to take pistols off your pilots and reassign them to soldiers that have sidearm slot unlocked, it's totally free then
@@donge9589 I only have one pilot per team on the campaigns where I haven't spent money and one pistol with them
@@_MaZTeR_ you'll soon get plenty more though as you unlock new pilot squads they all come with pistols. I can't fly for shit so immediately strip the pistols off. They are definitely useful for the bolt actions guys, but once you unlock semi auto rifles the pistol's really are relegated to sniper's or remaining bolt action soldiers as backup.
@@donge9589 That's the thing, I played Tunisia for a while and I think I only recently unlocked the radio operator team. I got bored of that campaign and switched to Berlin and I only just got the first fighter pilot. Progress is so damn painfully slow that they're deliberately trying to get you to use real money.
@@_MaZTeR_ yeah no argument here, I actually bought an Xbox just so I could play this when it first launched, I have only maxed out allies on Normandy, well I say that but they have added more levels since. All my other campaigns are at various levels. I just play it for enjoyment, because for all its grind and bugs there isn't anything else quite like it on console. In that I mean WW2 based shooter with ai squadmates, I like the pacing which reduces the walking simulation You tend to get with more hardcore games like hell let loose. I honestly think they should give players a way to get 1 example of each weapon early so they can outfit one of their soldiers with it, it may keep early game people engaged enough to keep grinding so they can unlock said weapon and buy them for other soldiers.
The AI is still stupid as hell though
@John Hathorne Star Wars Republic commando, Brothers in Arms: Road to hill 30, Ghost Recon Rogue Spear, SWAT 3 and 4 just to name a few, they all do the AI much better than this game, you will also find that the AI commands are extremely comparable to this game, move here, defend this, attack here, shoot there, suppression fire etc.
I guess you just haven't played many tactical shooters.
EDIT: I forgot to highlight, all of these games are "old" games, so it's not lack of technology, just laziness/lack of skill by these devs
I keep the AI as reserve in a defensive position while I run into the thick of it, when I die I get more chances to do it again.
@John Hathorne DICE has made quite significant AI for battlefront 2. Yes it has much larger budget but it's an old game at this point. I would say Enlisted is about a 3/10 AI overall. This is not a problem in general, but it gets horrendous when you try to grasp the fact that this game is basically an AI shooter.
If I had the opportunity to command AI clones in Battlefront 2 in a similar fashion (or with more options), or if Enlisted had at least half as much advanced AI, I would get chills. Maybe in the future from another dev.

What I love about enlisted is "anything can kill anything" meaning you can wipe a whole squad of stg44 users with a Mosin which is amazing work
There is Hell let Lose and other realistic WW2 shooters in the recent years but Enlisted is the most fun for me. With the Bots and combined arms it feels like war and they got a perfect mix of arcade and realism i think. Sadly as a dad my time is more limited for enlisted than i want too. Reading the updates from time to time iam really impressed how far this game came in such short period
I dont understand why some people criticize the game heavily because of the grind or the microtransactions, I mean I literally paid 0 dollars to the game and I have no issue killing people with 1 or 2 shots with a Kar 98 bolt action. There is absolutely no downsides to go full f2p and not spend a penny. The more you play the more you unlock squads, attachments, rifles and it never felt too grindy to me. I mean its better to have a F2P game with this approach than to have a crappy AAA release you paid 60 bucks for and see how they try to shove in-game purchases down your throat. Its a really solid game with details you'd expect from a triple A release, solid optimization and beautiful graphics. I never had any performance issues with a 1660Super. So if you're not obsessed with having all the best equipment and dont mind grind at all, try it.
exactly, people forget the development team is small and you can’t blame them for needing a little bit of money to keep the game going. even then. being free 2 play and me spending only $25 only on the normandy campaign alone. i still manage to get plenty of kills placing my bots strategically with 5 star soldiers and weapons. the game has been getting a lot of content and update it’s crazy.
This game is quite pay2win and absolutely brutal for free players. The few days of beginning premium given was so easy to upgrade and salughter everyone, and respawn with a huge number of different squads to choose from, as well as upgrade your squad members and fill in new members making huge squads....yeah, I remember how nice it was to start.....
Gaijin can be really difficult to remove from your computer and it will automatically update whether you want it to or not. I love warthunder but gaijin is malware.

I found their software extremely aggressive to my system; files not appearing where they should be and vice versa, constant marketing pop ups. They disabled some of my administration tools while not including basic fuctions/options within the client.
It took me days to purge it from my system, and only with the help of other desperate folk driving into the forums. Gaijin are, or at least were leaching off the back of their game designers and customers.
I still remember the Stalingrad map update I forgot the entire name. Of it. Like woah. That Air raid and everything. Make me play like 12 days in a row on Enlisted and then stops due to school problems xd

TBH the way premium squads work in this game they make more sense to be used by Lone Fighters and less in Squads mode. A premium squad is nearly always worse than basically any free squad.

idk, unlike warthunder enlisted can be played as an unpaid experience and it doesn't feel like you need to pay to grind like warthunder, everything is not really given to you, but it feels historic and you can grind within that historic experience which I love

did they make the game more optimized/less heavy graphics wise? i can get 30-50 fps on war thunder and usually get 50 fps in airbattles but i never got above 20 fps in enlisted.

Chill bro, they are only on two campaigns. The German rocket truck you can one shot with a Stuart. I one shot the tiger two with a t-34/85. It's no more op than any other tank.
What we really need is a rework to air combat. We need AI planes for players to focus on to lvl effectively, and we need more abilities to counter bombers with more player air slots. There shouldn't be a trade off between tanks and planes. Enlisted can handle more than one plane a team during a match with how big the sky box is. AA tanks and more infantry transport vehicles would help too. Why are their only trucks on Oasis and Stalingrad?

Enlisted is made by darkflow who is associated with gaijin who I think is helping them financially, so I think darkflow are not trying to do as many micro transactions but gaijin are forcing them to. Not sure about that though.
I would like to see, that NPC soldiers are using natural covers or builded structures/baricades. They should crouch, stick to walls, blind fire from covers etc.

yeah, enlisted is rly good, but idk if this is intentional or not but balance here is...sometimes hard. Even worse than in war thunder, one side just have better tanks or planes or weapons or everything, For example. I know i am good at this game, when i care about game and not playing just for fun i can be top1 just because, BUT even if. My 70% winrate on moscow allies is i think just because germany suffers here. And im not stopping. I need to have marshall grade, time for that is lol so im caring so much to win, and i lose like 3 games from 20 and if im losing its just where i have 8k points and second best have 2,5. Literally i had a game where i had more kills and points that other 9 people in team together thats disgusting

I can't stand this game because they literally ripped a ton of the assets from an earlier title game they made. Same guns, visuals, sounds everything. Sure this is a completely different gameplay experience but it just upsets me.
