Well done man!!!! I've been telling anyone that would listen about the valve controller from Dahler. I also HATE burble tunes, lol. So the ability to run my flaps fully open while in efficiency mode, or going to Sport + and turning off ASD while keeping the valves open is my favorite feature. Glad you're bringing more exposure to people who missed the vids from Kies or WYF. AA installed mine when they did my mid pipe.
Thanks brandon! That's exactly how I felt when I started adding pieces to my exhaust setup in in Sport Plus mode, it was just two obnoxious for me to drive around with. So I'm glad I was able to Showcase this more to the public so people have more options out there
I've had the Dahler valve controller for a few years now. I got it from Jorg here in Germany. It's one of my best mods that made a huge difference in the sound of my exhaust. I was able to keep my stock exhaust and just add a single mid-pipe for an incredible sound. I programmed the open/close valve functions to my mirror buttons so I don't have to use the remote control that came with it.
Thanks for the "look, see" and hear!! when I'm in my M4 some times I don't want to hear my loud exhaust and put it in comfort. So I will be picking up one of these from Kies...ALOHA!
I didn’t mind them in my first 6-8 years of driving BMWs. Even now I don’t mind it when it’s on the oem setting but when people change them and make them like fireworks it’s a turn off personally. It would be nice to have it on the OEM setting and a button to turn it on/off as well in any mode. Let’s see how I feel about it whenever I can get a G80 myself!
I really need to get on the VC. Sounds great in comfort with the valves open. Another major plus for us manual G80 drivers is you get the linear throttle map, which IMO makes driving the car a lot smoother and more enjoyable. The throttle is too boosted in Sport+, which may be fine on the automatics, but its just too much in the manual.
Nice vid if you prefer sports plus throttle mapping you can run sports plus with the valves open and then hit the exhaust button in the center console. That also gets rid of the burbles but the valves are forced open so it sounds great without the burbles.
Thanks man. Really helpful. I have the AA equalizing mid-pipe on the stock setup and it sounds great. Except for the stock burbles and the "rattle" on cold startup. I think the Dahler takes care of both of these items without having to spend $5k on a total replacement exhaust. So, probably going in this direction.
I definitely agree my f80 M3 non-competition had zero burbles maybe a pop here and there. That's how I liked it. I'm definitely glad I was able to find this method to hear the exhaust and to get rid of the burbles
So for clarification of everyone, what are your settings for M1 and M2. I ask this so that it's clear to all that those settings can be changed to whatever you like. For example, My M1 is comfort/efficient for the engine, everything in its sportiest setting, and traction control fully off (set to 0), and ASD off. My M2 is Sports + with suspension in the middle setting, traction at 5, and ASD off.
Been looking and valve controllers, any reason you went with Dahler over vsc-2? From the description they do the same thing but dahler is 3x more expensive.
What's your exhaust setup again? I know you've changed it a few times? I've watched your AA videos and I think my best bet would be the AA EL mid pipe and their axle back on a G87
My exhaust setup now is Active Autowerke Gesi Catted Downpipes + Active Autowerke Equal Length Mid-Pipe + AWE Switchpath Exhaust. Recently added the Dahler valve controller. That's not a bad plan to be honest.
How are the carbon seats holding up? Especially concerned about the higher wear areas. I’ve seen some in very poor condition. I have a g80 on order hopefully for December delivery. I’m seriously OCD about this.
People always want to change In Europe they want the Amber lights in USA they want the clear No the M3CS has yellow running lights they want it.. I kept my yellow stock e90 angles eyes and 15 years later people love it.. how we are as humans.. always wanting something else.. I was a wagon.. because I can’t get it.. get it :)
Yeah it works perfectly with the stock axle-back. It will give you some more sound out of your system but don't expect to blow anybody's eardrums. Because you still have the stock mid pipe that has two resonators that helps quite the car
Why is everyone wanting burbles these days? Its so obnoxious and sounds like your car is broken, not to mention it sounds like shit. I will never understand this fad.
So refreshing to hear a modern sports car with zero unnecessary
burble. This makes the exhaust setup absolutely perfect, well done.
Thank you! Absolutely agree 👍🏻
Yessir… Dahler for the win… thanks for the shoutout!!

Been running no burbles for over a year now and it’s definitely the move!
sounds so nice in comfort open valves
1000%

I personally love the burble tunes, but I'm over 40 and no longer as self conscious.
🤣+1 here
hate the burbles years ago, now I like em...
That's one of the best things about the car community, we all have our own likes and opinions. I respect that 👌🏻

I’m taking notes from every video you upload, great video always. 🔥🔥

Wow I didn’t even know a G80 could sound this good! They sound like riceboxes with all those burble tunes

This is exactly what I was hoping for, I like the M Sport throttle setting but ứng to get rid of the burbles! Thank you

Finally someone mature with their car oh my days. I used to like burbles but it’s starting to piss me off
Another awesome video as always
Thank you 👌🏻🤘🏻
Top video as always
Thank you 👌🏻🙌🏼
U can also be in sport + and open valves with controller. Then press off exhaust button. It also turns off asd 💪🏻 youre welcome
Thanks for this info!!
Totally agree with you! Love the vid
M1 all day everyday thats how that exhaust must sound no burbels ect❤
I personally didn't like burbbles. I like how the engines back in the day used to scream. Burbble is just too much .
I definitely agree my f80 M3 non-competition had zero burbles maybe a pop here and there. That's how I liked it. I'm definitely glad I was able to find this method to hear the exhaust and to get rid of the burbles

@@TheDailyDriven it's the sound I'm looking for. More audible but no rasp
What are your other exhaust mods in this specific video? Midpipes?
I got rid of burbles as soon as I went BM3
That's another method for sure
Finally someone who agrees with me and made a video about it! Always thought the burbles made cars sound worse and cheesy
How are the carbon seats holding up? Especially concerned about the higher wear areas. I’ve seen some in very poor condition. I have a g80 on order hopefully for December delivery. I’m seriously OCD about this.
Can do the same coding engine sound into idrive and set comfort as sporty

racing yellow and amber DRLs are two very different tones.
Turning m sound off will also disable burbles
It works for stock exhaust? Is it than louder, because I turn every time Sport plus, but need little bit louder sound, but not too loud as yours 😅
Yeah it works perfectly with the stock axle-back. It will give you some more sound out of your system but don't expect to blow anybody's eardrums. Because you still have the stock mid pipe that has two resonators that helps quite the car
So without the dahler controler, the AWE switchpath doesn’t allow valves to fully open?
Yeah without the Valve controller you don't have full access.
Why is everyone wanting burbles these days? Its so obnoxious and sounds like your car is broken, not to mention it sounds like shit. I will never understand this fad.
Agreed. So juvenile and dumb.
Ofcourse it is better without the burble bullshit
