Awesome vid thanks for posting. This actually gives me a better explanation of whats going on with my car. I have a 2013 RDX with the V6 J series engine. My mechanic told me my axle seal is "sweating" transmission fluid on the driver side as well just like your aunt's RDX. I just completed my 105K major service. If you were me, would you also replace the axle when replacing the seal as well? Would you also just replace both. I'm not having any problems at all with them.. joints are fine. No shaking.
Thank you for watching the video. I’m happy to hear it was able to help you out. Well in my opinion since it’s sweating, you still have a chance to hold off on replacing the seal… And since there is no shaking at the moment, I would probably hold off on that too. It just depends if you’re willing to spend the money to just go ahead and do it as precautionary… But the answer to your question if it were me, I would probably hold off just a little bit more. Welcome to the channel. I appreciate your comments/feedback. Please feel free to check out the other videos. Hope you find them informative and entertaining as well. Have a great one! Hope this helps.
You’re welcome and thank you for watching the video! As far as part numbers are usually just call up the local dealer give them the VIN of the vehicle… Also, you could check on stuff online as well. I haven’t really used parts from online, but here’s an online link that pops up. acura.oempartsonline.com/drive-shaft
Hi there! I don’t have the part number anymore… the boxes are long gone. Purchase was from the Honda dealer… aftermarket is also an option, but didn’t want to run the chance of still getting a vibration.
@@TeamICZER Thanks for the reply. I called my Acura dealer and they provided me with the part number. So, i don't know what actually happened, but i got vibration after performing a wheel alignment in an Acura dealership. Before, my ride was smooth with no problem, just after the alignment i got vibration at certain speeds. Since my front tires were kind oi bad, i thought that's why i was getting vibration(they also rotated them). A month forward i bought new tires, they mounted them, balance and did alignment. Once they finished they told me my front axles need to be replaced. Now I'm thinking they messed up my axles in the first visit because i was not getting any vibration at all. Usually when I'm accelerating at high speed or when breaking, that's when the vibration happens. I'm mad man. But with your video, at least i know how it is done.
If it happened right after they rotated your tires… It could be the tires as well. And if you have vibration or breaking it may not be the axle it could be the brake rotors. Sorry for the late reply I didn’t see this til now. Thanks for watching.
Absolutely and thank you for watching the video! Yes, it absolutely did. Based on my experience, I already knew it was the axles. More specifically it’s actually the inner CV joints that are worn out that caused the vibration. Just went ahead and replace the entire axle on both sides. No more vibration on acceleration from a cruising speed.
I had the same issue whenever accelerating from 85mph and up, but mine turned out to be sticky brake calipers. 😬But I do need to replace my front CV axles, since the right side just started making noise every now and then when making hard left turns from a stop.
@TeamICZER I'm starting to experience some vibration under acceleration during taking a turn and my AWD defect warning light comes on and usually stays on for a while, till I restart the car. Did you experience your SH-AWD light coming on as well ?!
@@jaimefernandes73 That never happened to me. But you should also check your brake calipers. My RDX was having a similar issue, where it would vibrate when accelerating at highway speeds. Vibration would happen when accelerating above 80mph and stoped as soon as I let off the throttle and the issue on mine turned out to be a sticky caliper.
Thanks for the video. By chance, did you drive the car before doing the driver's side? I can notice a shake when I'm accelerating turning right, but it's smooth when accelerating turning left - I was wondering if you might have noticed anything similar on yours after changing passenger side only, or have any insight as to which side might be bad based on that?
Thank you for watching the video. I didn’t bother trying to pinpoint which axle was culprit for the vibration. My aunt was moving out of town and she wanted it handled. These vehicles are notorious for axle vibration, so if we didn’t want to mess around and just replace both sides. The only driving I did was to verify the vibration and road test after both axles were replaced. The vibration that was happening wasn’t specifically during turns just any acceleration
Just the video I needed, thank you. Did you need to use the axle itself as a hammer on the passenger side to get it to click in? It took a bit of force to get past the snap ring.
Glad the video was able to give you a visual. Yup, that how it’s done. Pretty much taking the axle and slamming it in. For the c- clip what I like doing is having the open part of the c-clip positioned at 6 o’clock. And if you’re still struggling with the clip. Have just enough grease (preferably the Honda urea grease) to hold the c clip centered. Hold the axle a centered as possible. If u have a buddy helping have them hold the spindle assembly out the way. Then u should be able to slam the axle in more easily. But sounds like u already got it. Good job and thanks for liking the video. 👊🏽💪🏽🙏🏽

@@TeamICZERthank you so much! I’m going to replace my front axles and shocks this weekend hopefully. I just did lower control arms and then the passenger side axle snapped lol. It wasn’t making any noise before, literally like 5 minutes before it snapped it just started knocking lol.
@@TeamICZER I was able to replace both the driver and passenger side cv axles with remanufactured Honda ones. After the install I noticed my steering wheel is slightly crooked about 20 degrees to the right. It drives good but my VSA and ! light come on after driving a little bit. Turning off the car and back on clears them but they come back when driving. Could to be a bad abs sensor? Do you think an alignment is needed to clear those lights?
Just a heads up this video is definitely not a tutorial. Doesn't even change the driver side even though the title says it. Complete waste of time watching this!! I 🤦♂️👎
Sorry, you thought it was a complete waste of time. It’s definitely not a tutorial. But you could clearly see how it’s done. You must have not watched the whole video. You probably stopped at the part where I said it’s gonna need an axle seal. Axle seal was picked up the next day. Then the axle for the driver side was installed right around the 15 minute mark.

Thanks for the video- was just curious to know if you have part numbers for both front axles- thanks

Hey thank you for taking the time to making the video.
I was wondering if replacing the cv axles solved your vibration issue ?

Thank you! And welcome to the channel. We appreciate the support. YOU are AWESOME!
do you know if the replacement axles need to have the ABS ring/reluctor ring?
the newer vehicles these days have the pick up inside the wheel bearing. So the answer is no you don’t need the axles with the ring pick up
