I studied architecture and ever since (literally) all night studios, I realized I love being up late at night. Everything just seems so calm, peaceful, serene… It’s so nice to study, read, and think at night. Definitely a night owl. I do love getting up before sun up as well - it has a similar feeling.
Being a teacher who is a night owl, my days are long and scattered with a bursts of energy but mainly brain fog and fatigue. I've found that my biggest help is the decision reducing like you said. I put my pajamas out the morning before and I basically made a uniform for myself even though I have a pretty open school attire. So glad to see videos that haven't forgotten about us night owls ❤
Our internal clock is SOOO influential of basically our entire life, so thank for sharing these tips! To anyone interested in this topic, I really recommend the book "The Circadian Code" - its not only about our sleep but about our internal clock overall, and what an effect it has on us.
I started night school get home at 11:30pm and normally I knock out at 8:30pm wake up at 6am. This is such a struggle to stay up. You guys have superpower.
I loved it when you started explaining circadian rhythms, genetic variants and molecular biology (I was shocked to hear it, since is what I study). Really great video!
I appreciate you taking the perspective of how to thrive accounting for the difficulties, instead of the cookie cutter "GeT MoRe SunLigHt AnD BecoMe A MorNiNG pErSon, Duh"
I can't really tell when my peak productivity/creativity hours are but I most certainly know that I like going to bed late and getting up late. Because even if I may not be productive in the evening, I just enjoy my free time more later in the evening/at night. It's a more chill and peaceful time. I'm both lucky and unlucky with my job because we switch between two shifts. One week I work from 7am to 3pm (so getting up at 5:15 for me, which is a nightmare) and the next week I work from 10am to 6pm. While I don't like ending work so late, my time after work feels more chill because I can go to bed later and enjoy more of that late evening free time. I still have the same amount of time after work but it feels like I have more when I end late because there are just less distractions later in the evening when everyone else in my household isn't running around.
The issue with using the peak productivity at night, is that I'm already so tired from pushing through the day, that I have no real energy left, when my brain feels the most productive. So it's like being eternally condemned to never be at peak productivity. Not really complaining, I still get a lot done, but I'm always wondering how much more could I achieve if society would allow me to use my natural productive hours.
Hello, this is a very great video, and thank you so much for the information. I do have three quick questions. What do you say about naps in the evening to get that extra sleep. Also do you suggest coffee in the morning. What time do you suggest for exercise? Please reply, this would be very helpful. thank you!!!

Definitely a night owl.

I never readjusted after my architecture student years but like you I also found that I like working late at night in the peace.

I need a good routine as I need to take care of my old dad at night - but I need to be more productive and try to make the best of it
You rock! Sending love 🤍

I have never heard anything more relatable on this topic. Thanks for making this video :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love how you just talk directly to me! Great video
Excited to see this!
Well I think I am more of a morning person. My problem is morning comes too early in the day. Every. Single. Morning.
😂😂😂

I totally get it 😩
Amazing video, Mariana! Thanks for sharing!
Cheers from Brazil!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for another good video and for helping people find their personally most active time of day/night to make the most of it.
Glad to help❤️
If you're at your best between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. you're not even a night owl in my book. I'm at my best between midnight and 3:00 a.m.
Me, an early bird, trying to figure out how to do this in reverse for my night classes 😂
😂
