Update: Cody is okay! He was a little sore, but nothings broken or fractured. He’s pretty much back to normal now. It could have been so much worse so we are definitely grateful!
I’m not sure Cody but I think Summer did it on purpose. I would sleep with one eye open if I were you. But really the look of pure terror and concern for you when it happened just shows how much she really loves you. You two are great together and I am glad you are ok.
I am glad that Cody's foot is okay. I learned the hard way that it only takes 21 pounds of force to break the small bones in your foot. I am also glad that you went back to your filming roots as well. We enjoy watching you both work together and smiling as you work. And you explain as you work and gives us an insight on what your days involve building your homestead together. And Cody needs a big tractor so you don't have to rely on cranes. Jim and Lydia can build you a container moving hootis.
Glad you're feeling better Cody, but still make sure to rest and elevate that foot for a few days. Great work on clearing some logs and getting the firewood in place closer to the house.
Glad Cody is on the mend, must have been really scary! It’s nice to see you teasing each other. Put ice on it and stay off it for a while. Go to get it x rayed or it might act up as you age.
Nobody taught you the criss-cross trick for firewood? At the ends of your piles make criss-cross stacks and the pile holds itself up. 3 pieces north/south, next layer 3 pieces east/west, and so on. My grandfather taught me that and it works well. You can also do the entire stack that way to allow a lot more air through and dry it faster, but it takes a lot of work and extra space; I just do my ends so I don't need anything to hold the pile up
There will be so many people that will be able to give you tips on how to do the shop for as little cost as you can, just look at ambition strikes & what they did. There will be folk with some good ideas to think about, I'm sure.
Hey Cody You've got 3 to 5 sharpenings left in that chain. Just grind a little deeper so to round the tooth more. The reason you are popping out while sharpening is the tooth is getting too flat or even rounding outward. I usually get 10 plus sharpenings from a chain. There is usually a line on the tooth that you should stop sharpening at but you can get 1 or 2 past it as long as they are not deep grinds. I usually only use Stihl or Oregon chains I guess cheaper chains won't get as many sharpenings.
So glad Cody is OK, it could have turned out really badly so easily. There's a lot of hard work that goes into turning downed trees into firewood. It's a good thing you guys are young and healthy ❤❤❤.
That "little bit bruised" no doubt looked a whole lot blacker and more bruised the next day 😉. Glad nothing was broken and all is good. See you on the next one. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
Great video y'all. Life on the homestead is awesome to see. Love y'all. Sorry about Cody's injury but that part of life on a homestead. It's work and sometimes you get hurt.
If you mark your starting link with a little "white out" you will never lose the point you began with when sharpening a chainsaw. Remember, the easy way out is not always the best way out. Been off gridding for 60 yrs and I have an entire tool box full of tip and trick from old timers like I have become. Looks like yall doing a great job..
You two are a great team! I’m so glad that Cody’s foot wasn’t hurt badly. Summer, I could see how concerned you were and it was heartwarming seeing that you two love each other so much. I have only one comment for both of you - please please please wear eye protection. Even a small splinter of wood can damage your eyes forever. That’s my mama bear loving suggestion for you both.❤️ Keep up the good work. I wait for your videos! You’re both so young yet determined and focused for your future.❤️❤️
Ouch Cody!! On video, she definitely dropped on you 😁 , 🙏's for your healing. Y'all be careful in future. Hope y'all will have a better night and week going forward.
Waynescoating = that is defind by installin a design of sorts halfway up the wall. Normally you would use a wood panel or you could trim and a diffferton coloc.
Hope your foot is okay. Talking about your containers, why not do like Riley on "Ambition Strikes". He placed them far enough apart then built a roof over from one to the other. Then you have the two containers to use plus you can put your sawmill under the roof and have room for building things. Just a suggestion.
I kinda saw her throw it at his foot. 😂 That had to hurt but yeah ice it down and move on. Just make sure you clean your chimney pipe if the woods not completely dry.
great shot - well there is something to be said about safety equipment, and sometimes that fails, i had some amazing safety wellies, hardened toecap, very comfy but mislaid them, i have some safety shoes now, and while removing a bulthead from a Toyota Hilux i lifted it on my own, fairly big and heavy but managable, got it up and onto the rear bumper of the van to get into the back, it slipped off onto my right foot, right across the bridge of my foot, and that part of the shoe is not hardened, i was hoping like a mad thing, not broken i thought, just dented ego, for a week i was pretty good able to walk on it, the bruising came through, horrible sight, and then i missed my footing and sure i broke something, so been unbearable for second week, so i totally feel for you Cody having a log deliberately thrown at you by the Mrs must be a sign for the future, watch that one Cody hehe, yep sounds like bad bruising just as i did, hopping mad for a bit, walk round, check toes work, but yes you will seize up for a bit with swelling and bruising Cody, this is just the kind of thing that makes you begin to think harder about what you do and how you execute things, can knock the confidence as it has done with me when i broke my back two years ago, ok so thats a tad more serious than dropping a green/wet log on your foot, but you will not forget, and as you age these things become harder, life is very fragile, everything changes in an instant, be careful, no passing logs between yourselves, the one thing i have learnt when you have more than one person trying to move or lift something everyone tries to push when others are pulling, so fighting against each other, but good team work needs some rules move the tractor closer and lift over shorter distance - i'm not a huge fan of the health and safety, it can get in the way, but self preservation is a must and you will learn better ways to do things, i watch a lot of videos where folk make do and overcome, that's pretty much my motto, but i giggle at a guy being all macho lifting something heavy when theres a tractor close by, stay safe people leaning against your container you have a nice section of container wall which you could make into a makeshift shelter for your wood pile, make it high enough not to bash your brains out against
Cody please learn the I’m in danger signals for the next video please.the videos out there looked like summer was doing the Olympic throw for shot put with the log please hurry and build the shop so we know you have a place of safety to retreat to 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 glad to hear no breaks just bruised
Ya'll really are a slightly younger version of me and my husband lol. My husband is the same way. He broke two fingers and sliced them down to the bone on an excavator fan. He only went to the hospital because he knew he needed stitches. And he drove himself. That was just the latest instance. I've been dealing with this for 20 years! 😅
Summer you didn’t throw a log at poor Cody did you🥴. I know you didn’t, love what you two are doing, Cody is pretty good at all trades, I wish I had that know how but didn’t. You’re both building a really nice life together. Good luck moving forward!! 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Oh man, that sucks. Goto ER and get it checked out. Why wonder about it. Fix it and move on. Was that hickory? Would love to turn that in to some bowls.
Well I want to know if you're going to take your shipping containers and turn them so the doors face your house so that way you can see if anybody tries to get in your containers
I was wondering if you have a light in the chicken coop so they will go in at night. One time I forgot to turn my coop light on and when I went out to lock them up my girls were standing at the door afraid to go into the dark.. maybe its something to think about.
On this week’s episode of how to take out your partner with a tree cause he didn’t finish the bathroom 😂, Cody I seen the video evidence you have a case 😂
I love all the work that you guys are doing, but you really need to be careful with the wood that you guys are chopping up with and moving around like you stated with how heavy those are and when they fall they can cause major damage I know because lifting bigger pieces of wood than that tore my rectus femoris muscle. Please be safe. 12:04
I thought having a night light for the egg layers helps keep up their supply of eggs. Or they like reading at night and are late watchers of old movies. Burning the candle at both ends.
Update: Cody is okay! He was a little sore, but nothings broken or fractured. He’s pretty much back to normal now. It could have been so much worse so we are definitely grateful!
glad he's ok 💕
Hi Summer & Cody. I hope Cody is ok. That must have hurt. Cody has had a lot of physical things lately and I Pray he is healing🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
I broke both my big toes this year doing the same thing lol so now I wear steel toes anytime I’m messin with firewood
Good to hear that !
Glad to hear he's ok....
I’m not sure Cody but I think Summer did it on purpose. I would sleep with one eye open if I were you. But really the look of pure terror and concern for you when it happened just shows how much she really loves you. You two are great together and I am glad you are ok.
Accidents you can laugh you can live with I think you were right he is milking it, with a smile on his face.

Nice teamwork you two. These experiences bond a man and a woman together in ways you can’t imagine.
Glad he’s feeling better and happy his foot isn’t broken. Accidents do happen fast. Glad all is good
Glad Cody is on the mend, must have been really scary! It’s nice to see you teasing each other. Put ice on it and stay off it for a while. Go to get it x rayed or it might act up as you age.

If you burn your egg shells in your fireplace, it helps to keep your chimney clear. A friend told me and it works.
Bro is a tough one. That could have put most people out for weeks. It’s really cool to see these hard working videos. Much respect.
Even if nothing else was done this day, HUGE accomplishments. Sorry about the foot!
Looks like you’re making a good dent in keeping warm this winter. Glad your foot is ok Cody.
There will be so many people that will be able to give you tips on how to do the shop for as little cost as you can, just look at ambition strikes & what they did. There will be folk with some good ideas to think about, I'm sure.

Accidents happen when you least expect them. Glad you are okay now Cody 🙏. Stay safe, both of you 🙏.
I just loved all of the good nights to your "girls". So sweet. You two are hard workers, and work so well together.
So glad Cody is OK, it could have turned out really badly so easily. There's a lot of hard work that goes into turning downed trees into firewood. It's a good thing you guys are young and healthy ❤❤❤.
Ty😊😊😊😊😊
Cody you are stretching it like a cartoon from the fantastic 4. Hope you heal well. Summer you’re a hulk lifting all the wood %. 😊
Cajun Country needs to bring his Ultimate Hootis to move the container!
Sorry Cody, just keep it elevated, and lots of ice it does help. Feel better. Summer bad girl..😂😂😂❤❤
Summer is the sweetest
That "little bit bruised" no doubt looked a whole lot blacker and more bruised the next day 😉. Glad nothing was broken and all is good. See you on the next one. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.

That was a bigger tree than I thought! 😲
Poor guy I saw him running in fear of his life you brute😂😂
Ya'all are such a cute little couple. Thanks for sharing your journey!

You should write a book. 😉
@@justme5544 I have. Many of them.
Love the teamwork on winter stocking up
Good to know Cody is ok
Ice his food to reduce swelling. Warm epson salt soaks to sooth it
Glad to hear Cody is okay!!! Yes, could have been worse. And, yes, we know Summer is too sweet to hurt you intentionally!!!
OH NO! GET WELL SOON!
I'm totally with you Cody, definitely on purpose man. Make her pay by making more coffee and treats :D
lol I gotta back Cody up it really looks like she threw it at you. ha. glad you are doing ok man. I am not ready for the cold coming in this weekend.
Ouch! Hope He is okay about your foot injury, serious or some broken fracture? You both have a wonderful good team and good spirits :)
You two are a great team! I’m so glad that Cody’s foot wasn’t hurt badly. Summer, I could see how concerned you were and it was heartwarming seeing that you two love each other so much. So glad Cody's OK, even if he did throw Summer under the bus... on second thought, maybe he deserved it! Keep up the good work you two!
Great video Cody and Summer
Ohhhh no… I’m very happy that he didn’t have any damage!!!!
Ouch Cody!!
On video, she definitely dropped on you 😁 , 🙏's for your healing.
Y'all be careful in future.
Hope y'all will have a better night and week going forward.
Hi from Colorado Springs 😀 doing wood is hard work
Waynescoating = that is defind by installin a design of sorts halfway up the wall. Normally you would use a wood panel or you could trim and a diffferton coloc.
Hard work pays off. I hope your foot is OK, Cody!
At first Hercules's I thought it was a bees nest the way Cody rocketed out of there, but I'm glad you're okay Cody.
awww....be well Cody
Cody, I am sending prayers to you for a speedy recovery 🙏
Hope your foot is okay. Talking about your containers, why not do like Riley on "Ambition Strikes". He placed them far enough apart then built a roof over from one to the other. Then you have the two containers to use plus you can put your sawmill under the roof and have room for building things. Just a suggestion.
How can you poor Cody, he’s an American treasure…. We will all pray for you 😂
Cody you need to get some steel toe boots to stay safe. And i believe you she threw it on purpose. The time laps excuse was just a cover up. 😆 Lol
You guys are so refreshing
Hope Cody will be ok and hasn't broken it
Summer and Cody blessings to you both ❤❤
I kinda saw her throw it at his foot. 😂 That had to hurt but yeah ice it down and move on. Just make sure you clean your chimney pipe if the woods not completely dry.
Great job on cleaning up the wood that’s down to help u keep u warm in the winter time!!!

You guys are awesome. I hope Cody gets better soon
Lol, we saw the evidence, I hope mends quickly for you. You're only allowed to milk it for love and cuddles, not for a go-fer🤣🤣🤣
Good hard work today! Sorry to hear about your foot Cody. Take care.
Get well soon.
Summer you didn’t throw a log at poor Cody did you🥴. I know you didn’t, love what you two are doing, Cody is pretty good at all trades, I wish I had that know how but didn’t. You’re both building a really nice life together. Good luck moving forward!! 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Another great video. Glad Cody is ok.
Nice teamwork guys love your videos❤❤❤from Canada 🇨🇦
Oh man, that sucks. Goto ER and get it checked out. Why wonder about it. Fix it and move on. Was that hickory? Would love to turn that in to some bowls.
I believe you mate
HAVE YOU CONSDERED BUILDING A THREE SIDED ENCLOSURE TO PROTECT WOOD FROM RAIN AND SNOW
Watch out Cody she is after your insurance, LOL
I believe him why would he say it!!! Oh and there's no blade on a chain saw just letting yeah know
Well I want to know if you're going to take your shipping containers and turn them so the doors face your house so that way you can see if anybody tries to get in your containers
You guys are fun to watch. Plenty of firewood, and hardwood at that. Will you sweep your flue pipe before winter? Just a thought. Take care!
I was wondering if you have a light in the chicken coop so they will go in at night. One time I forgot to turn my coop light on and when I went out to lock them up my girls were standing at the door afraid to go into the dark.. maybe its something to think about.
Ouch. Cody but glad you're doing good. Does your splitter also lat horizontal
On this week’s episode of how to take out your partner with a tree cause he didn’t finish the bathroom 😂, Cody I seen the video evidence you have a case 😂
What happened to the beautiful fence u guys built.
Shame on you Summer! Cody does everything for you! lol Hope it's just bruised, I'm like Cody, I hate going to the Dr. or hospital!
Cody! Save the video, it's forensic evidence. They have that sneaky way of denying that when they just wound and don't kill ya.
lol yes it was an accident lol Cody bugs u just like my hubby bugs me too lol
I love all the work that you guys are doing, but you really need to be careful with the wood that you guys are chopping up with and moving around like you stated with how heavy those are and when they fall they can cause major damage I know because lifting bigger pieces of wood than that tore my rectus femoris muscle. What kind of watch is Cody wearing while cutting the wood?
I thought having a night light for the egg layers helps keep up their supply of eggs. Or they like reading at night and are late watchers of old movies. Burning the candle at both ends.
Cody please use some eye protection 🙏
And safety boots
And chaps!
Should wear safety glasses when doing the sharpening. You only get 2 eyes Cody!
The video evidence shows Cody is correct, the log was thrown at him.
Hello how are you 🖐🌷👍👍👍👍😘😘😘😘
1ST MARITAL SPAT😮😂 FLYING LOGS OR 🛸 UFOS😛🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Dude you got a good woman
Chicken OCD! Haha
Rub some dirt on it. It will be fine lol
