After 2 years of 10 mg, I am tapering it down to 5 mg. Is gonna be my second week. The withdrawal symptoms are painful as feel very much more tired, more emotional, very dizzy, loss of motivation and focus, experiencing brain fog and lot of headache. When I was on my usual 10 mg, it did help with concentration and low mood, but was feeling a lot anxious, felt angry and ready to fight all the time and impulsive. After a while I got to a stage where I couldn't feel joy or happiness, also lack of enjoyment regardless I was doing things what normally I would enjoy. .That is very frustrating! And still was struggling with not being depressed. But this doesn't mean that everyone will experience the same!
Here's a detailed list of the neurotransmitters affected by Trintellix: Serotonin (5-HT): Inhibits serotonin reuptake by blocking the serotonin transporter (SERT) Acts as an agonist at the 5-HT1A receptor Acts as a partial agonist at the 5-HT1B receptor Acts as an antagonist at the 5-HT3 receptor Acts as an antagonist at the 5-HT1D receptor Acts as an antagonist at the 5-HT7 receptor Norepinephrine (Noradrenaline): May indirectly increase norepinephrine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors Dopamine: May indirectly increase dopamine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors Acetylcholine: May indirectly increase acetylcholine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors Histamine: May indirectly increase histamine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors Glutamate: May indirectly affect glutamate release through its actions on serotonin receptors GABA: May indirectly affect GABA release through its actions on serotonin receptors It's important to note that while Trintellix primarily affects serotonin directly, its effects on other neurotransmitters (norepinephrine, dopamine, acetylcholine, and histamine) are thought to be indirect, resulting from its actions on various serotonin receptors
I had to get off trintellix yesterday, my Dr. Put me on pristiq. No weaning needed. I was on for 7 weeks, super agro, very emotional, nausea. I had a gene test and the trin was on the list off low interaction. I'm sure the drug works fine for other people. I just wanted others to know that irritability can be an issue for some people
I stopped trintellix cold turkey because of the nausea. I still am throwing up every day and am sick of nausea. I can wake up and have 200 mg of diphenhydramine and still throw up an hr and a half later. Literally now have cavities from it. I dislike depression but am neither depressed nor anxious with a benzo but they dont want you to be addicted to those but do want you addicted to ssris. I just don't take anything now and am hoping nausea stops soon. Opiate withdrawal nausea is only a few days but ssri nausea lasts weeks and weeks!!
I was on trintillix 3 weeks at 5mg for stress and anxiety. It didn't do much. I tapered off. Day 3 of tapering. Some anxiety, but I'm going to the gym and burning it off. It's not easy, but not terrible. The ice pick zaps hurt but only lasted a day.
I have tried this for about a week and a half left side of mouth is numb, slight nausea but biggest disturbing symptom is dizziness. Its a matter of safety, dude Im getting off it.
This morning I woke up from a nightmare incredibly disoriented. It might’ve been a result of Trintellix since it’s the only medication I’m taking & im new to it.
I gave this med 8 weeks. It never helped. Also made me feel wiped out during the day until about 7 pm. Worse part being I couldn't nap, could not sleep until late at night and then waking up at 4 am every morning. What garbage.
I’ve taken celexa, Lexapro, Zoloft, Prozac, Viibryd, Paxil, and Wellbutrin and Trintellix has the worst withdrawal symptoms I’ve ever experienced. If I forget to take one dose, I have such severe dizziness that I can’t stand up at all. If it weren’t for getting zaps with it, I wouldn’t have connected the two.
Do not smoke weed while on antidepressants people. 2nd, why are you smoking if your on antidepressants anyway? Seems counterproductive. Just my opinion
Trintellix has helped me out in so many ways, no side effects did try other meds like zoloft and buspar only made sick or worse off so the mechanism of action is different to person to person, and i recommend first doing natural approaches and therapy before dabling into medication Btw the video wasn't useful, a bunch of wrong information
Oh lord, this was the worst "information" video on Trintellix/Brintellix I have seen on youtube. To answer questions you also have the knowledge to do that

Here's a detailed list of the neurotransmitters affected by Trintellix:
Serotonin (5-HT):
Inhibits serotonin reuptake by blocking the serotonin transporter (SERT)
Acts as an agonist at the 5-HT1A receptor
Acts as a partial agonist at the 5-HT1B receptor
Acts as an antagonist at the 5-HT3 receptor
Acts as an antagonist at the 5-HT1D receptor
Acts as an antagonist at the 5-HT7 receptor
Norepinephrine (Noradrenaline):
May indirectly increase norepinephrine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors
Dopamine:
May indirectly increase dopamine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors
Acetylcholine:
May indirectly increase acetylcholine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors
Histamine:
May indirectly increase histamine levels in the prefrontal cortex through its actions on serotonin receptors
Glutamate:
May indirectly affect glutamate release through its actions on serotonin receptors
GABA:
May indirectly affect GABA release through its actions on serotonin receptors
It's important to note that while Trintellix primarily affects serotonin directly, its effects on other neurotransmitters (norepinephrine, dopamine, acetylcholine, and histamine) are thought to be indirect, resulting from its actions on various serotonin receptors
Thank you for posting this.
