Good gods. Same. I was 15 and completely taken with the way caroline humanized klaus. Klaus was cruel and proudly brutal but here was another side to him that made him that much more complex. And caroline deserved to have someone that poured all of their attention on her.
Caroline always complained that all the boys choose her second over someone else. All of the boys she was with were with another character before they choose Caroline... except Klaus. Klaus saw her first and couldn't see anyone but her.... that's all she wanted. Why didn't they just let them be together? They would have made a badass couple cause they're two of the most badass characters on the whole show. She wouldn't have been eclipsed by his character and he would have been humbled by hers but he'd still be the big bad wolf... he'd just also be Caroline's little puppy dog! 😁

I am shipping them they are a good example for diversity in age and their has to be more couples like that because some girls are more mature than the boys in their age and they want something serious. And it should be a topic in society too. And this girls should be not judged
Diversity in age is absolutely okay in later stages of life. At the ripe age of 18 the brain is not even fully developed yet
( The prefrontal cortex is still not that developed and that's the part of the brain responsible for cognitive behaviour, personality expression, decisions, social behaviour)
Therefore, biologically speaking, no matter how mature one might seem, the fact remains that their brain doesn't function the same way as a much older person's and can easily be the objects of manipulation etc.
It worked so greatly in the show because the writers made it work. IRL the 18 year old wouldn't have gone off the hook so easily.
It's dangerous normalizing the relationship between a young adult and one that's well into adulthood.
Edit; the girls absolutely should not be judged, cause if they were that young adults they were taken advantage off, but that doesn't mean that we, as a society, should support and let them be manipulated etc.
We should protect young adults, not let them be objects to harmful situations

I knew that the TVD fandom was filled with mental illness the second I found out that Klaroline was a ship at all. Klaus kidnapped Caroline with the intent to actually sacrifice her in season 2, he actually DID kill her best friend Elena and Elena’s aunt Jenna, he forced Stefan to leave Mystic Falls and commit dozens of grisly murdered for him, he put her boyfriend Tyler into transition without a guarantee that he’d be able to survive, then he commanded Tyler to bite her which would’ve killed her, he bit her himself in season 4 and was inches away from letting her die (not to mention the fact that he shoved a coat rack or something through her torso the same day), he killed her boyfriend’s mom… the list goes on and on. Which is why it’s so concerning that I also sort of ship them💀
Yes to all of this, but like, it's a vampire tv show, you can NEVER watch or read something about vampires and expect them to have human morals, it'll be toxic and abusive at times and romantic in others, that's why i embrace all the problematic features that they have and ship anything i want lol
