Thinking back, I remember Alex driving Mary Borgstrom to the cemetery in his ambulance after she passed away. Both ladies really seemed to like Alex. I watched the whole auction yesterday, while I did house work. They were there til 12am and I watched their Sunday auction today and they said your auction broke three records for them it was the largest online visitors, the most money made and the longest online auction they have ever done!!! So amazing. Mary had an amazing jewelry!

Watching the video of you chauffeuring Madame Rac around, and seeing how chuffed she was- I know that she would be absolutely thrilled that you and Melissa have benefited from the things she collected in her lifetime. You treated her home, and her treasures, with the utmost respect. She is smiling down on you, for sure.
Great haul. But, it comes down to how you treated the piano teacher when you bought her Cadillac! You made her feel special. And you appreciated her wonderful car. You were dressed up as well. Not dressed up for you but by comparison to the rest of us. I know she appreciated that as well. It is a matter of respect.
I think my favorite thing about these people is that they were so respectful of Madame Rac. They never made fun of her or complained about her hoarding, they were just excited about the all the goodies they found and praised her incredibly good taste. They were very grateful for everything they found in the house. They shared what they knew of her history and even made a video to celebrate her life. They simply showed respect regardless of the situation.

Random thoughts on planning the cafe: Have an order window where people can line up outside to order ice cream, etc. that way the interior seating won’t be thronged with standing people waiting for a cone to take over to the playground.
As an ex restaurant owner, please get some advice for that build from a restaurant person plus your local health department regulations for their requirements .

That’s an incredible success. Every episode was an adventure and after several episodes, I decided I’d better start going through 50 years of stuff before my sons had to deal with it. The clear out is ongoing, but amazing how much is headed to other people. If we ever get out of Covid lockdowns, I’m heading to Canada from Louisiana for a visit. Maybe the coffee shop will be open by then.

If you have some extra money left from the sale after you calculate all the cafe plans, you should definitely consider paying a tech designer to build you an online store and pay a part time employee to take pictures and sell your inventory online. the reason I think you should do this, is that you have an amazing international exposure via youtube, and its clear that most people watching are into the stuff your selling. I also don't think it should cost a lot of money to set this up, but surely it will increase the number of people who are able to buy all the cool stuff you find. Hope this idea makes a financial sense.

I think that some people bid to have a way to share in your adventure. We were with you when you discovered the hidden room, laughed at Hans trying on the wigs and excited when you found that roll of money in the kitchen. You and your family gave up your privacy to let us watch over your shoulder during this and gave us all a distraction from the craziness going on around us. East Coast Canadian here; donairs themselves were invented in Halifax, but they were inspired by gyros like Alex said. Spiced beef shaved from a roasting spit, tomato, onion, sometimes mozza, with donair sauce (garlic powder & condensed milk, it’s super sweet), all wrapped in a pita. They’re found all through the Maritimes, usually at pizza places. ^_^ Congratulations on the auction btw!

They make a respirator mask that has microphone in them one of those would be perfect for you. A little pricey but would be the best for you!
Or he could wear a regular mask when he’s filming or do a voiceover when he’s in a space like the attic.

I think that some people bid to have a way to share in your adventure. We were with you when you discovered the hidden room, laughed at Hans trying on the wigs and excited when you found that roll of money in the kitchen. You and your family gave up your privacy to let us watch over your shoulder during this and gave us all a distraction from the craziness going on around us. Most of us couldn't travel or share the holidays with our families but we could explore that wonderful house with you and your friends. Thank you all again.

East Coast Canadian here; donairs themselves were invented in Halifax, but they were inspired by gyros like Alex said. Spiced beef shaved from a roasting spit, tomato, onion, sometimes mozza, with donair sauce (garlic powder & condensed milk, it’s super sweet), all wrapped in a pita. They’re found all through the Maritimes, usually at pizza places. ^_^
