bronze because the 1100 pieces are mostly small and therefore cheaper pieces, so for me is to high of a price for what it is, i think is a missed opportunity to get a new french cafe as small modular. the back is hideous
Bronze. Visually it is nice, but I feel very little for this as far as considering it for a purchase. I'm not a fan of this facade only look for a random location. In comparison, the Trevi Fountain set is pretty much facade only but far more interesting to me because of its historical value. Gateway piece for some people into a larger modular line? I don't hate that theory. Though this being such a small set I could see some people taking after it if they have display or general space issues. I'd be genuinely curious to know the buying/collecting habits of the people who would seriously consider buying this.
Designed by Hoang, our Vietnamese urbanist whom is specialized in this kind of builds. He made lots of local designs in same size / style before he got hired by Lego. The techniques will be interesting as he did with the Retro radio
There’s great colors use, and some great printed parts. I’m excited to see what people do with alt builds, especially someone like Brickative. While it’s not a day-1 purchase for me, I’ll pick up a couple to modify into something that fits my city.
to me it is similar to the London phone box. I would wait to see what people do with it on Rebrickable before picking it up. also, the design really seems like they are reducing piece count on sets overall.
This is an interesting diversion from the traditional Modulars. You may be right, this could get someone into collecting, as long as LEGO persists and makes more sets that fit into this sub-theme.
It'll be interesting to see how they tackle this in the future. It doesn't take away from the modular line, since they'll still make them. I wonder if mini "one floor modulars" would be a better approach?
At first I thought it was this years Building GWP like the restaurants last year and the houses of the world the year before, I can se mocs around it, and its interesting parts, but also depends if they are printed or stickers, I don't think I'd ever buy it on its own, Just for parts or a moc, so I don't think its going to sell to the masses. The design is great, so I'd rank it 6/10, Great effort but it doesn't work on its own for me so it looses some points. If this were just a floor or part of a larger set, the scene would be 10/10
The idea was good, but lego... I'm french from paris, this hurt my eyes, this is not the best french cafe we can got for sure, nothing exept the croisant look like french
That’s a good callout! I’m thinking it sits somewhere between modulars and architecture sets. It’ll be interesting to see how this does and if we’ll see more.
Absolutely not a fan of having to put every modern lego building agains a wall because they cant be asked to make a backside to already overpriced sets
Lego desperately needs smaller, more affordable sets for those who are interested in botanicals but think modulars are too big or expensive. However this set aint it. It needs to be a fully enclosed building looking good from all angles. Without mini figures this isn't even a play set, so having building sliced in half with that ugly back doesn't even make sense. Tranquil Garden is a perfect example of this sort of idea done right.
Would you rank this a bronze, silver, or gold? Check it out here: bit.ly/4h5PDpV
I think it’s a bronze because of the miss with the back.

@davidalvarez2987 Solid callout on the smaller pieces when it comes to value. I'll keep that in mind when I do future comparisons 🙂

I enjoy this style of reveal video since you actually go over the various details in depth, unlike many "reveal" videos that just show the box.
Thank you for letting me know! I’ll continue doing these for interesting sets that I run into 🙂

That’s amazing! Thank you for sharing that with us! I’m interested in the techniques, for sure. The cobblestone sidewalks look super interesting

This is a pass for me. I already have the Parisian Cafe Modular.
I think it’s great for a gift for a friend. An alternative to the botanicals
Definitely nice to have an alternative gift option! We need smaller, high quality sets, for sure.

I feel like there definitely should've been a second one released along side it to compliment it
Totally agree! That would also feed into the "gotta collect these" bug that some of us have 🙂
I like this set, but I feel like it is missing something that would make me like it more. Some depth perhaps. Thanks for the review!
Not a big fan of this build. The scale seems a little off. Those chairs don’t look right for a minifigure, but might work for mini-dolls.
Yeah I wonder how the scale looks in person? I'm still surprised that this wasn't built for minifigures...
It’s missing a lot of things to be a round product for many people
Awesome so how much a d release date
Releases March 1, 2025
79.99 USD / 79.99 EUR / 69.99 GBP
1,101 pieces
The idea was good, but lego... I'm french from paris, this hurt my eyes, this is not the best french cafe we can got for sure, nothing exept the croisant look like french
I also miss minifigures, but I think the building looks more "real" without them.

The scale is off for minifigs or the rest of their buildings.
I love it, but no minifig...?!
The only value in this set is some of the unique pieces that could be re-used in other modular Mocs.
With no figures, it could be sold in different markets as French or French Indo-China
It may amuse people in Shanghai to buy a set
I’m i the only one who is mad the twilight house won instead of the ratatouille figures
To me this isnt it. 80 bucks for a stormfront, no thank you. I can see people using it as a model to put against the sidewalls of modulars tho.
That would be interesting to slightly modify it and put next to a modular 🤔
Definitely not for me. Can’t get past the peach color and horrible color palette on back. IMO doesn’t look very French to me.

I honestly really like it for what it’s for. It really dose capture that French vibe. And it will look good behind me in zoom calls and stuff.
80€ is bollocks
