Another great video, but lets talk about the elephant in the room. Has anyone notice that Dom has a remarkable resemblance to Kristofer Hivju who plays Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones?
Yes we land it very easily now whilst sailing. If you look later in the season one playlist, there's another drone landing video which should help. I'd link it for you but I'm just at work on my phone right now 😬 If you can't find it then I'll get it for you when I'm home later ⛵️🍻
Your videos are quite exhilarating, especially the soundtracks. Magnificently produced, so, so skillfully. Your drone shots amplify, rather than distract, from the beauty of the water and surrounding countryside. Thank you for sharing so much of your sailing life with us.
Work in progress? Beautifully filmed, loved it. I don’t sail, but love the Northwest of Scotland, it’s my favourite place for sure. I haven’t been for over two year, this short film gave me a stomach ache thinking about getting back up there.
Love this channel. I always watch and love all these channels. But good to see a decent one of the uk. From a fellow manc planning the same adventure soon.
Ok folks, time to 'fess up...this cruising stuff is simply a pub crawl around England and Scotland! That pub you 'sought refuge in' seems to be so homely and safe, a great choice indeed. Love the drone shots and the beauty of the landscape. Thanks for sharing. Another escape for me!!
Peter Pierson it really is an amazing stretch of coastline, possibly the most beautiful part of the UK. Have you been to that pub next to the hotel and sea lock too?
We drove around part of the West Coast, essentially from Ayre, over to Oban and Mull and then up to Fort William. Saw some bits of the canal. The pub you visited, looks classic...but no, we weren't there.
Another great one guys, tip on the drone flying, when I fly mine on the yacht grab it and flip it 90degrees and it will power down, this allows you to fly it and then one person catching it just grabs it and turns it upside down and it powers down! Works every time and but safer!
We will give that a try, although we’re looking to build some kind of plan B, netted area where we have the most deck space, for an emergency (we’re rapidly running out of battery) ‘landing’. 😂
Sailing Cadoha are you resetting the home point as you sail? The drone will think it is forever getting further away from its home spot and think it has to fly back to where it took off, reset the home point as you are flying to your current location and you will get loads more flying time! I recently did this when filming our 53 foot tenders!! I am home at the moment so if you want any tips let me know! Heading to Southampton tomorrow to the MCA so I will be Around
Paul Vincent thanks, we’re glad you liked it 😬 If you know of any good sailing channels that we haven’t mentioned in the description box, do let us know, we also love watching other people’s adventure 😁⛵️
Glad you liked it and I seriously hope we've done Scotland the justice it deserves. Even when I watch the footage back, it never feels like it's enough, the place is truly magnificent and I certainly hope you get to see the place yourself, if you've not been before :)
Nice one guys. I love Crinan, wonderful place. I think the owner of the hotel owns the gorgeous wooden fishing boat. I rebuilt one very similar to that, it is either a Seine or Ringnetter. My Rival is on a mooring buoy and it is easier to pick up the line between the buoys than try to hook the handle on the buoy as you found. I have a Dji Phantom F40 drone and the legs hanging below really make catching it a lot easier. Look forward t the next one.
FrenchAM100 Yeah, I am seriously considering exchanging the Mavic for a Phantom , just because of the shots we love getting from the boat, and the Mavic just feels a bit dangerous to land, although we think we’ve come up with a potential solution, potential being the operative word 🤞
Hello there, glad you enjoyed it. I have to admit, I do love to fly that drone, just about everywhere I can, although since this video, we nearly lost it a couple of times 🙈🙈 Do you happen to have one at all?
Lovely shot from the drone at 3:15 . Lovely episode. I loved the little wooden boat near the end. Good idea to shelter from Storm Hannah! Your camera has the same low light focussing issues my Lumix LX15 does.
@@CadohaAdventures Sweet good luck with that ..... Am going to put my neck out and say that Carly is going to nail this task.... come on Miss you so got this .....
The fish and chips was highly recommended, and very good. I agree with you, too, there's no place like a good, old fashioned English pub to take shelter from bad weather, ha ha :)
The music is all from a site called www.epidemicsound.com they have a huge selection to choose from. Glad you enjoyed the video, feel free to share it with anyone you may think would also enjoy coming along 😁⛵️
You may have learned this by now, but if right after you catch hold of the drone, if you turn it over on its back, it should shut off the motors automatically.
@@CadohaAdventures Yes, your handle allowed you to have firm control of it while it was switched off at the controller. I haven't researched drones enough to know if they have any good quality drones that are also waterproof and float. I have seen some advertised that look like the DJI Phantom but are made by another company. They claim 4K video but I've been fooled before. I was watching some of your first videos and had missed that you were wearing a kilt while in Loch Ness! And I suppose that was what the "war paint" remarks were about on your face as well?
The whiskey was lovely, as were the fish and chips, however I don't think we took our time to really make the most out of the whiskey whilst we were there :/ Next time ;)
Someone else may have possibly, but we’ve only ever posted them on here, mainly for friends and family to watch, but of course anyone is welcome and it’s always cool to hear when other people enjoy following the little adventure 😬
Hi - lovely videos. I’m new to this sailing lark, and as yet just been an armchair sailor. So can I ask a few questions. Storm Hanna was on its way. So you just moored the boat to a buoy. Was it ok just to leave it there ? Were you not worried about leaving the boat during the storm or was that ok. Would it not drift off, or is that the idea of a buoy ? Why not stay on board ? Or did you just get a bed for the night and all was ok in the morning. Does it cost anything to moor up to a buoy. With the engine starter giving trouble you didn’t arrive at points as planned, so is that ok, you don’t have to book ahead ? Can you just pull in at a marina, or do you need to radio them Sorry for all the questions
Hello there and thanks for the questions. We moored up in a super sheltered little anchorage that the storm wouldn't beat up nearly as bad as being out at sea. We did actually stay on the boat the entire time, but in the video when you see us get off the boat, it was just to go to the pub for a few beers (plus some fine Scotish whiskey) and some fish and chips. The storm really wasn't that bad for us, thankfully, but again we were tucked up nicely for the night (which was technically the night before the storm was due to hit) and the next day we entered the Crinan canal, which wasn't our original plan, but due to our starter motor breakdown in Inverness, our journey plans got a little messed up and we had to adjust to changing conditions.
Another great video, but lets talk about the elephant in the room.
Has anyone notice that Dom has a remarkable resemblance to Kristofer Hivju who plays Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones?
Ha ha, I’m so going to have to start watching GOT I think, it’s not the first time it’s been mentioned 😆

Ha ha, it does have an aspect of a huge, ultimately global pub crawl to it :)
@@CadohaAdventures i like pub crawls :-)) especially the kind you're visiting :-)
Thought I recognized your boat. It has been on You Tube for a bit! Cool history and back story.
Yes we oddly saw it for sale on Facebook, and it ended up being a boat owned by another TH-cam couple, small world :)
Once again...lovely footage. Crystal clear. I hear Judy Collins singing "Farewell to Tarwathie" as you were in Crinan. Love that coast of Scotland.

Thank goodness there was a pub nearby, otherwise I can't imagine the horrors. Well done!
One thing we're becoming experts on now if finding suitable establishments to hunker down and take refuge in :)
Beautiful shots, in the pub and with the drone.... Keep them coming, and stay warm!
The pub is becoming quite the regular feature on these trips. I’ve got to learn how to say no to Carly’s demands?! 🤷🏽♂️😬
