The hybrid merchants buy the item size that they don't sell. Barkun buys smalls for +1 but he sells medium and large. Midsworth buys medium for +2 but sells small and large. Quixel buys large for +3 but sells small and medium. It makes sense that the merchants wouldn't have increased sell value for items from their own shop.
