In today's episode of Customs with Vick, we bring you a special custom Air Jordan 6! To start off this custom Vick preps the shoe by taping sections of the soles and the entire upper. He then mixes salon care 40 and dye which he applies to the outsole to give an aged look. Vick then moves on painting the midsoles a beige color. Using the iron method, Vick reshapes the shoe to get it looking just like the sample. Lastly, he paints on the 23 and extends the tongue a bit higher which really sets this custom off. I don't really understand the aging/vintage trend that's popular right now, but I can't deny that Vick makes everything he does look super crispy and professional. Nice job my man.
Yea man i dont get it idk about u but i dont want my soles yellowed/aged like that its not crispy it looks old 🤷
@@bigshermsthenikesbkid8211 neither do I, but it's a wave right now and if it makes Vick happy then more power to him. At least he does an incredible job doing it. Just not my cup of tea, but they're not my shoes either. Anything this man touches turns out dope though.
Better to “age” them naturally and actually wear them lightly until they do look like the OGs.
@@bigshermsthenikesbkid8211 Yellowing is beautiful. It shows that you're an OG. You've had your sneakers for a while and take care of them. I love crispy clean uppers with yellowed soles.

The reversed infrared samples were from 2000.
10 years ago, people flipped out about their midsoles yellowing, now the aged/vintage look is the style. Me personally, I like a fresh pair of Jordan's, if the midsoles age I would rather let the shoes age the more I wear them.

Well I was cool with the results of the yellowed midsoles Yes I understand they were always clear or off white and turned yellow but that's what I didn't like about OG's and in my humble opinion prefer the blue icy sole tints
Same here. It’s wild to me that I’ve spent years trying to prevent my shoes from doing this and nowadays they trying to make them look like that on purpose.
@@GraV21 No doubt...I have all the 6's and washing sole's religiously after wearing to stop it but unfortunately on some of the clear translucent sole's it's a losing impossible battle. I think all translucent sole's should be smoke as the my PSG 6's and the my Bordeaux 6's or my black cat 6's to name a few. They have yet to discolor. 🤷🏿♂️
@@chitown702 yeah those “icey” soles don’t stay that way at all. Unless they can develop an icey sole that doesn’t oxidize then I agree with you.
@@GraV21 true I didn't think about my Carmine's or other lighter colored gym 👟's shoes. That smoke look may not look appealing, if they can come up with a space hippy sole of recycled junk I'm sure it's not hard to come up with a oxidation free sole as well. Simple 🤦🏿♂️ these brands are ridiculous for real. Glad I'm retired I have everything

The tongue being raised just made me love these even more , too bad the new ones are short
All you have to do is just cut the inside straps about halfway and then put the shoes on and pull up on the tongues a few times and it will stay higher like that. I’ve been doing it to mine 6’s for years and never had an issue with them staying higher like that. Just don’t cut the straps anymore than halfway so you still have enough of it intact to keep it from falling to the sides when your wearing them
It's crazy how much you pay attention to detail on shoes(I.e. how high the tongue should be raised, the illusion of exposed glue, etc). Very nice!

The 6 Carmines are my favorite Jordans....My second fav is the 4's so you know once I saw this video I had to watch it.
Nike should be ashamed. They should doing this. If they give us a OG and call it something crazy like "Reserved Stock" and have it aged with OG box and all people will be screaming TAKE MY MONEY! This is very well done.
