Lost my charger, so checked this video out to remove battery to charge but instead have been inspired to mod a little and stick an 18650 lithium cell inside, cut the bottom off the trimmer and 3D print a new bottom to the trimmer to house the longer battery cell and put a micro USB charge port on the bottom. Get a 18650 battery from laptop and use the board from a power bank bought from poundland. Cheap simple upgrade to squeeze a few more years out of my trimmer Thanks for the inspiration
Thank you so much, Sir! I just replaced the original rechargeable battery with a new one but not so big capacity, just 1500 mAh. Its work like a charm. The disassembly was like a pain in …. but its worth! Btw, thank you so much🙏
I have the same model, have just scrapped it after 5 years of use , needed new battery. But after watching you splitting the case open with difficulty decided just to buy new one. Nice vid to watch though...
@@pulathisiherath1492 Just used it as you would use it, only recharged it when it went totally flat, but the charge lasted less and less as time went on. The new one I got the on/off switch is a bit sticky to operate, but I hope it lasts as long as the old one..
Since you replaced the battery the trimmer originally had for one of higher capacity, do you never get any overheating from that new higher capacity battery? ¿No overheating in it? ¿No overheating in the plastic covers of the trimmer? ¿No over heating in the motor of the trimmer ?
Try by removing existing wire from switch and direct connection to switch from positive terminal of the battery. Before doing it check the polarity of the wire connected to the switch.
I also faced same problem. Original battery is low capacity and it's china make does not support more duration. That's why I changed the battery to higher capacity.
Thank you so much! This helped me to open and repair my philips MG3721. I wish you all the best

@@daviddillon172 did you use oil on the blades or the motor from time to time?
@@pulathisiherath1492 No, I never lubricated any part of it, just brushed the blades to clean it.
@@daviddillon172 thanks a lot bro
А зарядний ток какой нужен? При заводской зарядке в 70mA выходит 50 часов зарядка.

Very nice and helpful video
Do you know if it's possible and how modify it to work while charging?
Actually mine is working while charging. Because when it is low battery I use charger and use.
@@commonmanideas4483 Unfortunately mine doesn't work while it's charging. So I would like to know if there is any way to modify this.
@@commonmanideas4483Do you know if this protection circuit that prevents use during charging is located inside the device or in the DC power charger?

Thanks! It's helped me
thank you for video
Plase make video to reduce 16 hours changing time for mg 3747/15 .
Why you are changing for 16 hrs charge it for 4 to 5 hrs is enough.
@@commonmanideas4483 :it is written on manual to charge 16 hours ,
This trimmer work only 20 minutes with 10 hours charging .
