The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique (traditional cazaq singing). Is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist? Brilliant! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

Concert experience:
I first heard Dimash's voice in July of 2019. by December I was convinced that I had to see him in concert so I traveled from Seattle to New York City by myself. but I wasn't alone for long! meeting all of the Dimash fans the Dears was quite a beautiful experience in and of itself!
Barclays center was jam packed with people all so excited. The positive energy was off the hook!
I could write an entire novel about what this experience was like but I will tell you that my favorite song that night was the one titled "If I Never Breathe Again". It's a song about a love so enduring that even would survive death, and you would not change a thing. And that is exactly how I felt about that concert a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will always cherish. That experience is now living in my soul like a gem of untold value.
Oh my! Seattle to New York sounds like a nightmare! But you got to see Dimash which is totally worth it. I guess you can say I’m a bit jealous 🙄😂 Hopefully he visits the west coast someday

I was at Dimash's concert in Ekaterinburg almost three months ago (February 23). It was an unforgettable day!
His live voice is 100 times more powerful than it appears in videos. It simply fills the whole concert hall with itself and penetrates into every cell of your body.
Everyone should attend Dimash's concert at least once in a lifetime!

Everyone keeps saying he's not human...yes his range, pitch perfect acrobatic runs and unbelievable breath control (the last ceiling high belt and incredible run down and up and down was almost 25 sec) are one of a kind. He brings to his performances more human emotion that any other singer I've ever heard and he brings them out in us. That is why he is so beloved, he makes us feel alive! I have always called music the worlds common language and I nominate Dimash as our embassador! Stay safe and peace...love your reactions.

I went to his concert in NYC and i it was a real journey, crying, screaming, laughing, it was spectacular, i think the best of the concert more than the songs was his interaction with us Dears, he is so humble! He genuinely loves his fans

Thank you for your reaction! Couldn't click fast enough. This song was written thirty years ago for A-Studio by Baigali Serkebayev, the gentleman playing the keyboard. The guitar player, Fedor (Frederico) Dossumov, and the bass player, Vladimir Mikloshich, are also with A-Studio. I was at Dimash's concert at Barclay's Center in NY this past December. Hearing him live is ethereal. The entire concert stood out for me, it is a concert that will never be topped, or forgotten. The concert was almost three hours, and it took you to another world. I saw Dimash last December in NY! It was the best concert I've been to! Seeing him in person and touching him...I was on cloud 9 for a week! Maybe longer. 🤣😂🥰 A live performance by Dimash is what every Dear should experience in their lifetime. It's like watching magic happen in front of you, so surreal! ♡♡♡
This song is extra special, because the musicians onstage with him are a Kazakh group called A-Studio, and they originally made this song famous in the 80s! The haunting bit before the crazy run (23 seconds btw!) is adapted from traditional Kazakh funeral singing, as a tribute to another member of A-Studio who had passed away. Also the guy in the white shirt who stands up at the end is Russian composer Igor Krutoy, he came out of retirement to compose specifically for/with Dimash! He arranged Ogni Pietra for Dimash to sing as the opening of the European olympics last year

Welcome to Dimashmania! Dimash is a voice like no other ever in the history of the world! I also first heard his voice in Opera 2, when he performed Episode 2 at Singer 2017. My life changed since. I saw Dimash at the Barclay Center in October 2019 for four songs at Igor Krutoy's 65th birthday celebration. I brought my New York college attending daughter. Dimash did NOT disappoint. I actually read the musicians as trying to focus and not show too much of their amazed shock! Peace! JK, Washington, DC

Tink! ✨✨🧚🏻♂️✨✨One of the other guys who comments on Dimash said that the band on stage wrote the song. The lead singer of the band died and so when Dimash covered it he asked the band to back him. The Arabic style vocal trill, before he does that 25 second (it was) single breath super human thing, is a kind of singing done to pay tribute to someone which is why he did it. He also stops singing early so people can just look at the band for a second. It’s their song so in a way the whole thing was one story. Dimash celebrating the song, the guys who wrote it, and the lead singer. Kinda cool. Oh, and pink suits you, love you as always 🥰🥰🥰

Great reaction. You need a different scale just for Dimash. He is always 10+ on every criterion!
I have to disagree. Vocal ability is always off the charts, obviously, and his performances are great too, but some of his interpretations are truly dreadful. And he often overdoes it. I find that when he covers Western pop music it's sounds terrible. He did a Lionel Richie song "hello" and it was painful to listen to him mangling the lyrics to death by overcomplicating it. Truly horrible.

Seems that there are always those, whose main form of joy, is to try and belittle those who are truly great at something. It's like they cannot stand the thought of someone being that much better than them at something.

Just discovered him couple days ago and watch videos his performance it’s unbelievable talent and gift. The voice is pure out of this world he brings us to to a different place , his presence, his looks, eye contact , hand movements and body language I guess it really paid off for him study and learning though out his life. And now we see that all his hard work paid off. He is not just a singer but he is the art. From what I understand this was a very popular song from 1998 written by the man playing piano. It was a band called A-Studio and the lead singer was killed in a car accident. I think this was a charity concert and Dimash sang with the original band in tribute which is why they cut to the band more than usual. Of course it's nothing like the original but I think the band were just in awe with what Dimash had created with them. Again this shows his generous nature as an artist.
Great singer and controls the stage like a master, but I'm most impressed with his pitch control! He's got it going on, for sure.
