- Waluigi! Super Smash Bros Ultimate snubbed our lovely Waluigi from entering the SSB franchise. He's the biggest Nintendo meme, and will be a star in Mario Tennis Aces, and yet he’s not enough for the new Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. But what makes this Mario franchise Luigi look-a-like tick? He's like Wario but even more gross and nobody likes him (except when they're laughing at him). Waluigi is nothing more than a perfect exaggeration of Luigi's main concept: the neglected, forgotten, side character, the second player. We see in Luigi a character whose original purpose was simply to be a forgotten pallete swap. This resounds throughout his character as time goes on, constantly again and again playing second fiddle to his brother. Still, Luigi is thrown a bone every now and then. He often gets to go on adventures with his brother, gets his own love interest, and even gets a beloved game or two of his own. Waluigi is a charicature of this, in the same way that Wario is a charicature of Mario; where Luigi is always second to his brother, Waluigi is always second to the world. Waluigi doesn't get to have his own games or adventures or love interests, or even a place in Smash like Luigi because that is what his character is. Luigi is simply unlucky, losing the spotlight most of the time. Waluigi is a poor, pitiable cursed version of this, destined to never get the spotlight in the first place. His forced irrelevance and the fact that Nintendo always leaves him out is a metanarrative comment on this nature of his character. My heart aches for this poor purple clad trickster, forced to yearn for glory and happiness exaggeratedly more than Luigi but also destined by virtue of his character to fail more often and more humiliatingly than Luigi. This, then, is perhaps the true source of Waluigi's hate: he sees in Luigi quite literally himself, and in fact someone integrally less than himself, and yet Luigi is the one who is allowed, occasionally, to succeed, not the purposefully exaggeratedly harder working and greater wanting figure that is Waluigi.

davidevgen It should have the same format as any open world mario game. But have all the good guys as bosses and the final boss being some crazy luigi fight at the luigi's mansion. After defeating luigi and realizing that his plan on finally beating everyone he has ever hated the ending should be that it was all just a dream and he leaves his house to see that mario and luigi are being praised for saving the day which angers him and the game ends with him running towards them to ruining the ceremony.

I personally think waluigi is severely depressed behind the scenes all he wants is to win just once but nobody will let him do that so he cheats and eventually goes insane trying to succeed but when he fails again and again nobody will let him live it down. Everyone hates waluigi even wario from time to time and he just wants to be liked but in the end he knows he will never succeed so he needs to put his silly mask on to hide the fact that behind the scenes instead of hating everyone all the time he does things like bang his head on a wall asking himself when he will finally succeed and back himself into a dark corner asking himself when his time will come and yet nobody will care. That’s just something I came up with it’s not cannon (probably) and that’s exactly whenever I choose waluigi in a game he’s in I go full tryhard so I can win, so *waluigi* can win... I think from what I understand Waluigi is a character that's trying to be remembered, if he can't be loved then his only other option is to be hated as in being persecuted (can't think of a better word) or he just wants to have a bit of influence
I'd honestly enjoy seeing a game where Waluigi and Luigi have to team up. It would Waluigi more spotlight, and a chance to learn about his character. He could possibly even redeem himself by being the hero with Luigi.

And WarioWare features Wario and the WW cast, no other mushroom kingdom based characters except for the occasional reference or "easter egg" in a mini game/micro game

I was hoping for both Waluigi and Daisy to be playable in Smash, they are my 2 favorite characters and I don't think either of them deserves any hate or negativity. I feel bad for Waluigi because of how he gets treated by everyone, including Nintendo. He is a strange character, which to me makes him more interesting, but he's still pretty damn awesome.

If his character is the result of a failing brought upon by his ego, then the question remains...where did that ego come from? you yourself said he is talented and egotistic, but has no backstory.
If his current character is the result of his world crashing down around him (in the form of rejection and such), what built him up enough for him to crash so hard? Where did his talents come from?

Well In one of the Mario cart games he has a race track which is a casino. So perhaps this is to indicate that he found success as a gambler. This would make sense as one of his main gimmicks is cheating. So if he cheated as a gambler he would get fame and money really quickly.
I think he's egotistical *because* of his many talents and skills. They brought up in the video how surprisingly talented Waluigi is; Growing and using Piranha Plants (the same plants everyone's too afraid to even want to go near), crazy dancing skills, enough tennis skills to match the Mario Bros. who can knock away Bullet Bills, and is apparently rich AF given that he not only has a casino for a race track but also his own freaking island. It's called "Psycho Waluigi"; and also features involvement from an enemy character who might as well be military general sister of Capt. Syrup. Waluigi is granted his wish by a psychic ghost who merges with him, and he can control stuff with his mind. I suggest playing it, as it sounds very well thought out...

Waluigi is possessed of a singular narcissism; he's clearly the best, so why does everyone else get the glory? Simple. They must be cheating. And if they cheat to get ahead, he aims to settle the score by cheating as well. It never works, though, because Waluigi is, for who he is, generally somewhat honest somehow. He genuinely believes he is "the best", and, being honest, can't quite bring himself to cheat enough to truly win, or well enough for it to go unnoticed. Everyone hates him because they have to. He, essentially, makes them feel better about themselves by being the worst.

Why don't know why they didnt make a super Wario brothers game. Dude it's like a great idea. Wario and Wuigi could be doing mischievious and sneaky things. That would be awesome and definitely worth shitting out a couple games. It's a great idea. Honestly the funny part is I don't even own or play any Nintendo systems. I just think it'll be a cool idea.
