  • Got another group of Trailhawks together for some fun in the woods! 5 of us '19s showed up! It was a good day on the trails, thanks to all who showed up!
The next Trailhawk Ride is scheduled for this coming sunday (nov 10th) around Chillicothe Ohio, so far i think there are 8? THs that are coming (plus some other rigs). Let me know if you want to come out with your TH and i'll get you the info!
Sorry, to any other rigs, but this ride got a little bigger than i was planning (more than 15 confirmed), so if you haven't already talked to me about being one of the 'other rigs' i need to put a cap on it for this ride.
    Mods:
-Rocky Road Super Sliders (rock rails)
-Dobinsons KL Trailhawk suspension lift, paired with partial Hazard Sky lift spacers to achieve 2" lift
-32" Milestar Patagonia MTs (265/70/17) (had to trim front fenders and pinch welds)
-40" Rough Country Curved LED DLR Light bar with Hazard Sky mounts
    -Rock Lights (cheapo)
    -4" Pod Lights (cheapo)

I love watching you guys put the KL's to the test. Jeep ought to put you on the payroll for real-world, off-road testing. This is the best channel to see what a KL TH can do and how capable they really can be with a good driver and a no fear attitude. Thanks for the uploads.

Thanks man! I love this platform and do what i can to break the bias against them! They won't outwheel everything ever, but they will most certainly follow an average wrangler down an average trail!
I've been tossing the idea around of sending Jeep a msg including all the comments and msgs i've gotten saying how my videos were what convinced someone to get their TH.

Awesome, just bought a 2021, wish I had some TH's closer so we'd be able to go out like this

Hey I’m glad I can keep it interesting with the downed trees!! Lol 😂 I’ll have to invest in a saw so I can start helping cut them up!

They should all be clear by the time we go through this time. There was a large ride today, and another on saturday, so by sunday i don't think there will be anything blocking, and if there is its probly too much for me to want to tackle with my meager skills.

Just curious, was stock bright white not using its lockers? (3:30) Odd to see driver side rear wheel not spinning. When offroad conditions look that slick, I automatically engage lockers out of habit. Enjoyed your video.

It appears as though they just had it in Auto and unlocked. For that puddle i think i only locked once. Just learned to do it the same as the last guy (the red), steady in the throttle and a little wheel shimmy on the second 'hill' would pull be through. Now with 32's i don't have to worry about anything in that puddle.

That's me. Rear locker was ON, but it's just too deep there and we high-centered. You can hear him say my right side is off the ground. After myself and the next stock TH got pulled through, that shaved the center down enough that the red TH was able to make it through. ;)

That looks like a ton of fun going out with a group of Traihawks!

Looked like a fun ride! Wish I could make next weekends meet, I’ll actually be at a bachelor party in hocking hills. Maybe I could meet up with y’all if you’ll be around vinton?

Vinton is where we'll be all day! Though cell coverage is a little rough in that area, you can try to meet up. (the plan is to meet at the trail prep staging place at 11:30a and depart by noon, finish in Londonderry around 5p because i have to go to work that night.

It's really nice to see some Hawks together on the trails! I've always been the only one.

I was too, so i started searching, and watching the various FB groups and slowly built up a small group of 'local' THs. So far in 9 months i've gone from no TH buddies, to my last ride had 6 of us on the trails!

A question. Do you lower your tire pressure? If so how much?

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

All the time. Yes. I usually go to about 18-20 psi for the trails.

Great videos! I imagine an Outback wouldn't get through this stuff?

It may be possible with all the right lines and spotting, but there are a few areas where it would have clearance issues. (don't know, haven't tried)

An Outback would probably have some approach angle issues unless the front fascia gets trimmed for a slightly-better approach angle. The departure angle is also not as good as a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.
With a 2-inch lift, a Subaru Outback on larger all-terrain tires will have comparable ground clearance as Fearless', but still have worse approach and departure angles. It also doesn't feature a low-range gearbox, factory skid plates or locking rear differential like a Cherokee Trailhawk, and would likely require choosing the more-powerful engine, installation of skid plates and rock rails in areas a JCT already has, and a Torq Locker ratcheting rear differential installed to even try to get to the same level.
Basically a Subaru crossover can do a good deal of what a Jeep Trailhawk-badged crossover can do with the correct mods and protection in place, but it's the really difficult stuff that a Jeep Trailhawk-badged crossover will have far less issues overcoming obstacles.

Is this the same that's going to happen on the Nov 10th?

Mostly different, but there are some that are hard to avoid without a LOT of detour driving.
