Man I want to build one of these so bad. My dad had a crusty, white, no ac no option festiva when I was growing up. It was so funny to see my 6'0 Air Force sergeant dad fold himself into one and daily it to work and back. AND to Dallas with no ac (about 700 miles)
I used this stuff as a finishing layer over top of my vibraflex and Alphard deadener. It didn’t add anything other than coverage, the two deadeners underneath were overkill already
I owned a 1990 blue (smurf blue?) and loved that car. It was like a go cart and delivered 47 miles to the gallon on the highway on a trip to Florida from Virginia. Sadly I had to let it go as I needed something newer and more dependable (the car that replaced this was a 1997 Escort that delivered 22 years and 180k miles before I traded it). Thanks for saving a Festiva. I know they are worth next to nothing and weren't really Fords, but they will put a smile on your face and can carry a surprising amount of cargo with the seat fold down!
Ooh finally, I wait for the updates on the Festivas. I love these little creatures, such fun little cars I'm happy to see the interiors being redone. Idk if you use an android or iPhone to film but make sure if you are using an Apple that the phone is recording video in MP4 video format and not HEIC format, HEIC is horrifically bloated and will slow down data transfer times and take up more GB space. I use a program called Movavi to edit the vids on my channel, it works well for what it is but it will crash if too many HEIC files are strung together
Interesting! I use an IPhone and looking at my camera settings I see two format options. “High efficiency” and “most compatible”. I record in “High Efficiency” which says it is that HEIC format. The other one doesn’t list it as MP4, but as JPEG
@@crewcabdart Yes use the "most compatible" JPEG setting, you'll notice almost no difference in quality but you will absolutely notice a difference in data speed assuming you have anything under an i7 processor, HEIC is a drain on memory and transfer times (especially if you're transferring the data to a PC and not a Mac). Took me a year to figure that out lol
I sent you a message on IM about my 1.6 for you but never heard any response. I did a full killmat on my 323 and the door closing sounds like a real car instead of a tin can.
I love the fact that someone is finally saving an old econobox!
Watch your mouth buddy. These are sweet cars.
Can’t beat a good econobox!
I think it was an all around compliment haha! They definitely are sweet cars
Looking forward to this series!
Thank you for your support!

It’s so awesome seeing so many great Festiva stories. Thank you for yours!
I used that Killmat stuff on the floor of my CRX, its good stuff.
I’m very happy with it on all my projects so far. It’s definitely my go to sound deadener!

Definitely need to invest in some detail cleaning gear. Maybe a sponsor out there can hook you up 👀

If it smells like pee, just call it the Peestiva.
Luckily it no longer smells like pee. But that’s not toooooo bad of a name haha
