She was and always will be one of the best. Right up there with Garth and George. She is one of my favorites bar none. Fabulous memories blast when I hear her again.
Love country, but I didn't know Pam Tillis Love thé way she sang..... This sound reminds me the times I spent in the USA 30 years ago while I was student in UCSD , San Diego
I love how the video is a throwback to Jackie DeShannon's original version taped on American Bandstand. Pam Tillis has such a unique and beautiful voice.
WOW . Have now just listened to Searchers, Jackie DeShannon and now Pam tillis. what a difference production and more up to date recording technology can make. Bottom line though is that this is just and EXCELLENT song. Thanks you Jackie De Shannopn...
Wow! I listened to the same sequence! But had Karla Bonoff in there first. What a great Jackie DeShannon song. Even Chris Hillman (ex Byrds) covered it.
HATE TO SPOIL YOUR DREAM BUT THIS IS A STRAIGHT FORWARD COVER OF JACKIE DESHANNON'S SONG. ONLY DIFFERENCE IS SHE'S SINGING IT. SO SHE DID NOT "MAKE IT HER OWN". YA ALL REST IN PEACE NOW. NO NEED TO REPLY !
Ed Halfen, you have made the most important statement, This song has been covered by so many great artists, and in very different arrangements, that is what makes it a classic song, and we can all only decide which one is our individual favourite. There are no bad performances of a great song, only a performance we may not individually like. Having never heard a country version, I really like this though, do I have a favourite, of course I do , but I'm not telling :-)
I would never classify any genre of country music as pop music. Maybe country pop of the 80s but I don't listen to any country music of today. But pop music has gotten better here in the 2010's since the 80s so far. Still not the best but its better than its been in the last 30 years. Indie music is just Independently distributed music....I think.
I still prefer Jackie deShannons and The Searchers versions of this great song , both class .. but i've got to admit that that Pam Tillis makes a really good job of it too ... she's got a good voice and i love the 'slant' she puts on the song .. great video too.
@@gibby7233 It was actually both written and sang by the brilliant Jackie deShannon first back in 1963 , as a B-side on one of her hits .... and then the Searchers released a version of the song in 1964 ...... Agnetha, and Susanna Hoffs, have both covered it too, amongst many others.. The version here in this video isn't bad, but it's certainly not the best ....
The blonde girl of ABBA also did the song without the other three members and does a great job. sorry I can't pronounce her name and spelling it lets don't say we did.
I can feel a new expression on my face I can feel a glowing sensation taking place I can hear the guitars playin' lovely tunes Every time that you walk in the room I close my eyes for a second and pretend it's me you want Meanwhile I try to act so nonchalant I feel a summer's night with a magic moon Every time that you walk in the room Baby it's a dream come true Standin' right along side of you Wish I could show you how much I care But I only have the nerve to stare I can feel a something pounding in my brain Just any time that someone speaks your name Trumpets sound I hear thunder boom Every time that you walk in the room
Rarely is a remake better than the original, but congrats Pam you did it. Just beautiful.
Just wow love it

@@terrykrall The original sucks.
It's just amazing how many people recorded this song!
This has to be "in my opinion" the best song ever, who ever sang, wrote, or produced it, thank you.

This was I pleasant surprise. I grew up in the 80's and the first version I heard of this was the Paul Carrack one, which I do recommend.
Have come back to this a good few times....spot on .
I love how the video is a throwback to Jackie DeShannon's original version taped on American Bandstand. Pam Tillis has such a unique and beautiful voice.

Don't forget Karla Bonoff's version of 1979.

I can't get enough of this woman's voice, she can take any song and make it her own

This version is 100% better then the original
@Paul Wright And he's right. The original sucks
@Paul Wright It's not that the original sucks I usually like original versions better myself. But when a cover is superior I can admit it.
Great voice and looks.
2022. Still brilliant.
Very nice version, Pam!!
Here it is 2022 and this song is better than 99.9% of what they try to pass as country today!!!!!!

Is that Pam’s daughter with a brush/mic dancing on the bed? Sure looks like Pam! 😍
I like the way melodic phrases drop a half tone at the end. 😆
