When we purchased our first home, the last owner left ALL the paint sample cards in the kitchen drawer when he left. On each paint card he wrote what finish he used and what room he used the color in. That was so thoughtful! We wanted to touch up the paint on the cabinets and I knew exactly what color to buy because he left all those notes for us. It was a sweet gesture :) We are saving all our paint cards in our new home for future owners.
Not keen on the color but as long as you and Jordy are on board is what counts!
In the end it wasn’t as bad but the only I would suggest is swapping the window drapery with something more airy like white linen or just white instead of brown brown on brown

As someone that worked in a paint dept for years… lighting matters! The color you’re seeing on your phone screen is not guaranteed. Spend the few dollars on the 3oz sample and paint it in the room you envision using it in. Colors will look wildly different in different lighting.
Yes! I always buy the sample & paint at least a section of a wall before deciding on whether or not I like it. I can’t imagine buying an entire gallon of paint without testing it first! Yikes! 😬

I don't personally like the brown (I did a room that color before and hated it). But I don't think it looks terrible either. And if you like it then that's all that matters. I'm so glad that it's feeling more like home though! So many more years of things to work on together to make it yours. Its really coming together nicely. I love it!❤❤❤

The paint color looks good with all the gold accents. I learned the hard way to always get the sample pot of paint! But paint is easy to redo down the line too.

I love the color! As you were filming and the light changed, I could see the hues you were going for. I guess it's one of those colors that changes with lighting. It looks good and if you ever get tired of it, paint is paint and it's easy to change. The cabinet is gorgeous!

I really, really like how it came together! I once had this beautiful jacket I was obsessed with and my coworker told me it's a diarrhea brown and I never wore it again. Had he not told me, I would've never thought about it. Same goes for your bathroom. Brown is a wonderful color and it goes so well in that small room and I love how you styled it against the cremes and whites! You can always change it in case you do feel like you want something cooler toned eventually. But I do love that you gave it a try and took us along. I bought my own place a year ago and haven't been brave enough to try out any bold projects but you inspire me to :)
Bathroom looks fine the one wall looks darker ( just how the light falls on it ) for the rest all your fittings go well .

I painted my kitchen brown 2 months ago. And the cabinets like a super light mocha, almost beige. Turned out super cute. Was so afraid of going so bold but everyone so far loves it. 😅
Cute makeover!! Though I feel the small blue plate is a bit too contrasting, might be better to have a more neutral or yellow colour?

It's a beautiful color. I think having warmer toned linens would help soften the contrast and tie in the joshua tree vibe you mentioned.

I LOVE the color, I think it's warm and earthy and what I've learned is it's your house, no need to follow trends and if you get tired of it, it's an easy repaint. It looks really good. I do agree the color looks and is described very differently online. They call it a cool taupe, and that is not a cool taupe, but you pulled it all together so well.

If you do decide to repaint the bathroom (not that you need to), if you paint along the tape the original color of the wall first, then paint with the new color, that's supposed to help create a crisp line. Also, if you use a more matte paint, the texture/damage walls won't be as noticable. Looks great Michel!

I like the color. I think your bathroom looks very nice. I do have to ask, why doesn’t Jordy help you do anything? Painting, putting furniture together? You gave him a towel hook, so I’m assuming he does live there now. He should help out more.
He also has a job and she only films a couple days of the week so you are seeing a very small fragment of there life together...also maybe she just enjoys doing these projects and he doesn't, maybe she's better at it them he is, Maybe he's doing other projects like figuring out stuff for his music room .

Painting tip for you Michel that I learnt from Alexandra Gater on YT which wouldn't have worked for this room but in rooms that are white or you have the of wall colour paint here's what you do. Tape off the edges like you did then take the og paint or white paint and paint all around the edge with that colour overlapping the tape a little all the way around. Wait for it to dry before painting your new colour over the top. Then when you peel the tape away it gives really crisp lines because of that of colour being first any bleeds will be the of colour. Really clever hack especially if you have two high-contrast colours that meet on the same wall. I think it looks great I do feel the colour doesn't match the swatch you picked up but I think it looks better than the mint and with all your decor really pulls it together :)
I would totally use this paint color for my own bathroom! I think it's so nice!! I feel like the warm lighting maybe makes it look warmer than it actually is but I also like the warm tones ☺
I think you had the right idea! Browns really elevate the gold and marble. I think mayyybee using a white primer to cancel out the bright mint...I think it mixed with the beautiful purple tones of that brown and made it more neutral and grey. It may be fun to test it on a white test board to see the difference. But as long as you love it....that's all the matters.
You’ll make it look rad with all the bits and bobs with it. The greenish colour paint underneath the new paint will contribute to the colour of the brown shade… all learnt through my own paint related experiences over the years. 😂
