Sounds more like Paul Stewart- a busy character actor who appeared in numerous films and TV shows from the late 30's to the mid-80's including "Citizen Kane" and "In Cold Blood." Stewart also worked often as a voice actor for commercials and movie trailers. (Stewart voiced other Schlitz commercials which is why I think it's him here rather than Savalas although their voices do have some similarities. But I'm not 100% sure.)
First beer commercial I ever remember watching. I liked the one where they were mountain climbing and "went for the gusto" on top of the mountain. Guess they could climb down the mountain drunk, haha
I couldn't resist. I just had to put ChatGPT's satirical spin on this (just imagining Telly Savalas reading it)... "So, you've counted every penny twice and now you’re ready for a splurge? Listen up: Buffalos are back, and no, not as a budget meat option. Caring's the game - and guess who's winning? Schlitz. They brew beer like you save money: with intense passion. But they actually have something to show for it - gusto. Theirs is the beer for those who know life's too pricey to drink cheap. It’s for those who recognize the taste of first-class... even if they’ve only flown coach. Get this: Go for the gusto, or keep pinching those pennies till Lincoln screams. Your choice. Life's too short, my frugal friend. Go for the Gusto. Or take your broke @ home." 🍺💰💸🤯🤣
The voice of Telly Savalas 👍🏻
As mentioned in the description. I think it's him as well. ;)
I think you're right!!

Never knew exactly what Gusto was supposed to taste like in beer
It's obvious you've never had a Schlitz....

This beer, an American classic, remains so tastefully gusto great.
Hope Pabst would bring that to Europe some time. I wouldn't mind trying.
As an old head, I can attest, it's as good as it ever was.

"GO FOR THE GUSTO OR DON'T GO AT ALL", HERE'S TO BEST BEER MONEY CAN BUY!
Discarded pull top, gone by early 80s. But when did they have the indented rim?
This is a guess but probably when they started making them out of aluminum.
Go big or go home.
That's not beer , that's GUSTO !
I'm gettin' up a gusto party this weekend!🍻
This why it was nicknamed “Schitz” beer: crappy.
What a bunch of BS from start to finish.
