17 years of blockade* started after two years of launching rockets without a blockade. For a total of 19 years of Gaza launching rockets on Israel. Remember, palestinian crime does not exist, and they'll only mention the fence but never mention what happened before it.

I just look at the UNRWA situation in a more dynamic way. Most people working for UNRWA in Gaza are residents of Gaza... this would naturally mean that even if the UN properly screens everyone, some people are bound to sympathize with the struggle of their own people. Some which may join with intent of assisting this cause or develop the desire to do so at a later date. UNRWA have fired/suspended everyone suspected to side with Hamas, what else can they really do? It's not as if the whole organization can be replaced with people unaffiliated with the area. Same goes for other things, such as the red crescent etc.

Yeah but remember that once the “plausible” case has been confirmed (as the ICJ just did), this actually obliges signatories to the Genocide Convention to adjust their own policies toward the plausibly-offending country. This might be in terms of arms sales or diplomatic cover. Certainly it should make it harder for pro-Israel governments to crack down on BDS proponents with the sham accusation of “anti-semitic” activity. In theory it even gives cover to Yemen’s naval blockade.

A long drawn out case that takes years is far better than a hastily put together one that can be easily disputed by the perpetrators. It does suck, but any half measure would be far more of a disservice to the victims. It can sometimes just take one incorrectly used term in a legal document to get a case thrown out or force the process to restart. Realistically, what you are asking for is actually more liable to take decades, which defeats the purpose.

When it comes to the UNRWA situation. I don't think a lot of people are taking into account that the same western countries who pride themselves on being protectors of free speech have essentially said that they are going to unilaterally punish every citizen in Gaza for what essentially amounts to 16 people engaging in edgy sht posting in a private chat. There is no actual evidence that these employees have any connection to Hamas. What they actually said does warrant firing imo but none of what they said is even remotely comparable to what Israeli politicians a have been saying in public this entire time.
Also, it really irks me that no one checked the date of the post from the one UNRWA employee who is being accused of trying to prevent civilians from fleeing North Gaza. It was the same day that Israel bombed a convoy of medics trying to get their critically wounded patients to the Rafah crossing after they were promised safe passage by the IDF.

I scrolled through the comments section, to find out if anybody had further information on the accusations directed against UNRWA; so thanks for providing the context.
It seems to me that UNRWA's overreaction was a measure taken in order to avoid finding itself in a situation where its funding could be suspended… but it was anyway; by those who are also STILL supporting the Israeli government with arms and intelligence, among other things, DESPITE the public outcry AND the decision of the ICJ…

They pulled funding precisely when the the ruling forced Israel to provide aid for Gaza, by labelling UNRWA as a terrorist organization , they can purposefully fail to provide aid under that guise. This if anything, proves that the starving tactic is not only intentional, but is a tactic agreed upon between Israel and the West.

On the 7th, it is crucial to understand that there were no direct attacks on civilians, only collateral damage. Out of the 1148 total names, 403 were military personnel, 59 belonged to the police, and 668 were civilians.
According to UN OHC data from 2008 to 2022; The collateral damage on the 7th was significantly lower than any of the ITf "mowing" operations, which had a ratio of 6:1
When including all casualties, not just deaths, the collateral damage ratio of the "mowing" operations it is a staggering 162:1
On the 7th, with 462 military personnel out of 1148 total, the ratio of civilians to military personnel was a mere 1.6:1
which is a hundred times lower than the 162:1 ratio from the 162,000 accumulated casualties over only 14 years of "mowing" operations.
A 162 :1 ratio means that for every 162 civillians, 1 military personnel is a casualty. The 7th had a ratio of 1.6:1, a hundred times lower.
The reported ages of the victims are as follows:
    0-4: 2 civilians
    5-12: 8 civilians
    13-17: 14 civilians
    18-25: 132 civilians
    26-40: 119 civilians
    41-60: 55 civilians
    61+: 40 civilians
    Active duty military personnel:
18-25: 258 active duty military personnel
26-40: 60 active duty military personnel
41-60: 17 active duty military personnel
61+: 1 active duty military personnel
From haaretx datasheet titled "xsraxl's Dead: The Names of Those Killed in Hxmxs Attacks, Mxssxcres and the xsrxel-Hxmxs Wxr"
462 were military personnel, including 55 soldiers, 13 privates, 59 corporals, 200 sergeants (45 of whom were sergeant majors), 48 commanders, 32 lieutenants, 5 lieutenant colonels, 6 colonels, 37 officers, 10 inspectors, 6 intendents, and 2 Lance Corp.
in 2021 the Costs of War study by Brown University with regards to the past 20 years of engagement of US policy cites the following figures: indirect deaths 4.5-4.7 million, direct deaths 905-940,000 , in other words 6 million deaths and 38 million displaced. This is relevant because of the Oded Yinon Plan.
