Just wanna say, ty for keeping in their reactions for when their last Pokémon gets wiped by giratina. Love seeing trainers suffer 👍
I swear giratina form changing and full healing in the end I swear Pokémon devs finally got tired of our crap and gave us the middle finger ngl
The best part of this part of the game is how most people were like "We won!" with like only 1 or 2 mons left, only to see Giratina's eyes light up its glorious

It's almost as if Giratina's glowing red eyes were specifically timed so that it was as if it heard you talking shit. Literally every time someone taunted Giratina "fainting", it was timed perfectly.
They knew _exactly_ what they were doing
What´s even better is the music at that point with a Flatline sound insinuating that it's dead, only for it to stop the sound, let the eyes light up and go back to a Heartbeat in the background as it transforms

they nailed the cutscenes in this one. I also absolutely love Mai talking about the legendary pokemon and whatnot and them playing off kricketune's cry WITH the speechbubble. Comedic timing, like this one ws an epic timing

It goes to show how awesome this is because, instead of getting pissed that they lost, literally every person gets HYPE when Giratina absolutely wrecks them out of nowhere!
for some people, its confusion, hype, dread, then depression
Cuz we finally got a challenge 😂
It just shows how crappy the final bosses have been in the last few pokemon games
@@Honor_Defend the ONLY exception is necrozma. He was the last genuinely challenging final boss in a Pokemon game. That and Alder I believe?
The difference between this and Ultra Necrozma is that you fight Ultra Necrozma with a fully healed team of 6 Pokémon yet you still get swept because it has omni-boosts on every stat, its level is 10 times higher than the very fight before (Necrozma fused with Solgaleo/Lunala at Lv. 50) and its ability and raised speed makes it so it almost sweeps every Pokémon without giving you a chance. You often need to resort to scumbaggy tactics.
Compared to this Giratina atleast gives you a chance instead of outspeeding and sweeping you. But in reality it's even more difficult because most of yohr team is probably fainted from the previous battle plus its signature move got buffed extremely

I really hope Scarlet & Violet has battles like this. This is exactly what we've been waiting for.
@@LegionIvory dude I want scarlet and violet end game battles to be like that one time we had to fight Red and his level 84 pikachu. Just a borderline unbeatable champion that legit walls us and forces to grind more to beat the game would be nice.

@@H.yeon_su nah dude red it’s a shitty fight, the only thing that saves it’s that, well… you are fighting fricking Red. The only hard part is the level and even then you can easily set up on Pikachu and sweep.

The fact that many faced Origin Giratina with half of their team of over-levelled alpha/legendary Pokémon proves how hard the battle actually is.
Should I be proud of the fact that I did not use and alphas or legendaries, and I still beat Volo’s entire team, Including both Giratina battles with barely any of my pokemon fainting. I’m actually confused about everyone saying Volo is hard. Cynthia’s Garchomp in BD was a bigger challenge than the entire Volo fight.
@@jaredhamilton425 Well I guess that depends on what Pokemon one uses and at what level they are. Even Red in GSC is easy with a team at 90
@@Filippo739 I suppose that’s true to some extent. I accidentally made my team tailor made to beat Volo, but they were pretty even leveled with Volo’s team, none of them were actually overleveled for the fight.
@@jaredhamilton425Yep, my situation too, the only thing I had with greater power was an Alpha infernape, the rest was normal, but I wasn't even trained and leveled, I lost the first battle when I was at a disadvantage after losing my gardevoir, when I exchanged my lead for the lopunny it worked because I had one more pokemon against Giratina

Man, this was a 3 phase fight. Volo made you work for it when going through him, the giratina just comes out the gate swinging like a demon, then he does it AGAIN.
@senpai toast the shared XP works pretty well in this game at least. I only had one lvl 70+ pokemon by the time I reached Volo's battle with the rest of my team being in the low 60s or high 50s and still managed to barely win. It was objectively done poorly only in SWSH.

The best part is that thats actually part of the original Giratina fight theme
I just realized how confident Giratina is in the first video, man walked up to unown, stood still, took the hit, entered phase 2 and just struck the man's hopes of being done with this fight entirely.
Sigma Giratina
I just felt so bad for the player. He was like “oh no I’m dead” and then he really thought he was beating this enormous Legendary powerhouse with a tiny literal letter of the alphabet. And then the reveal…
This battle has only one flaw…
You only get to experience it for the first time once.
And if you watch it before playing, you don't get to experience it at all
I think the best part is how Giratina immediately opens with a shadow force first turn, dude said "talk shit get hit".
And it’s not stupid enough to try it against an opponent that can resist or even nullify Shadow Force, such as Darkrai, so Giratina uses other moves like Aura Sphere instead for its opening turn(s).
The shofu reaction is so good, “that’s what you think” 👀

Gamefreak should take this opportunity and canonically modify the size of some legends, to make them look intimidating in a world where avalugg looks more like a continental treat than Groudon.
I literally once thought Groudon to be the size of mountains or atleast tall enough to overshadow small hills 😅. But once I realised about it's size. I was pretty disappointed. Same goes for Kyogre whose size I initially expected to be larger than Wailord or atleast comparable.
At least it's not as bad when comparing it to the sizes in BDSP.
I mean to be fair they would have to change the weights too, as the weight caps at 999kg for the Pokedex. That makes any real life animal bigger than a horse heavier than every Pokémon ever. In fact, Mudsdale is like the 7th heaviest Pokémon _because_ it’s just a horse.
@@flerken4233 Literally, going by Pokedex weights, Mudsdale is heavier than 2 Steelixes.

What I love is most players using a strong style move to finish off base form. So they are slowed after the transition (not to mention giratinas origin form has higher speed) and so giratina usually gets in 2 hits or more.

I love the way everyone goes strong style to finish off Giratina, only to be pushed back by the after effects of turn karma
I literally could not beat Volo without a Cresselia, Giratinas fight was less impressive, Cresselias Lunar Blessing is op as hell in this game. Dodged a total of 10 attacks at least, Volo didnt get a chance to ko Cresselia.
part of the reason I didn't use Cresselia on any attempts. If I can avoid it, I don't want to use legendaries because quite frankly they are well legendary......also why I almost never chose to "Continue" the fight with any nobles (Mind you, I only realized what that meant after I chose it for the Arcanine fight......) but even the final encounter I willingly chose to not "continue the fight" I chose to restart the battle. It was much more satisfying that way
Floatzel works like a dream in this fight
The only way I could have beaten giratina was with my shiny sylveon, after the victory I gave it the name "God slayer"
gotta agree with the seconed guy, the transition from going origin mode into the immediate shadowforce is pretty spectacular
Actually got spoiled on this, went in relatively prepared and still had a rough time, and this is easily one of the best moments in the franchise.
Whoever had the idea of adding that gitar riff needs a promotion

I love this scene!
I was so sad that we were revisiting sinnoh with the recent games but giritina wouldn’t get it’s hype moment like it had in platinum.
Then when I “defeated it” and he came back and wrecked my team I felt like a kid playing platinum again when he showed up at spear pillar and wrecked everything. 🙂
It made me love giratina. It fought normally as if testing us then unleashed its full power and fought seriously then after being beaten it retreated and decided it would no longer threaten the region. We could then go and capture it and alongside us it becomes a protector of the region. You could even theorise that these events are why it arrived I platinum to a stop to Cyrus' plans personally
I love how Giratina absolutely claps and the trainer is just like “shucks”
I remember when I reached this stage, I suddenly think "wait Giratina has 2 forms, right" and the all hell breaks loose
Giratina: "Call an ambulance..."
Also Giratina: _"BUT NOT FOR ME."_

NO!
The absolutely correct reaction to Giratina.
I love this and how lots of people took legendaries to this battle. I went in with the team I'd used most of the game. It was a hard battle and the second stage was a surprise but I still did it first try
Yeah, I was wondering why it took people multiple attempts before I realized that they were bringing tons of legendaries. I just brought my team of 5 with a filler, and even though i was just about equal level with the fight, I still first tried it. I guess that's what having a shit ton of effort lvl 10 stats does to a team.
I had my playthrough team, with the exception of Dialga because I just felt like using a legendary for once, but I hadn't really grinded grit items. I just used what I happened to get. Not a single stat was max on anything.
@@jamesdinius7769 I didn't really grind grit items, I just caught a bunch of pokemon and released most of the duplicates i had. I guess that counts as grit grinding.
Same here. Was like well no wonder people lose so many times. They box the team that got them through the late game for legendaries. I beat this fight and giratina first try. Ursaluna, zoroark, and then my typhlosion helped so much. I used grit items due to having a ton due to releasing Pokémon. Thought you was supposed to used them on your team. My ursaluna took down volo team by himself. Moves is ice punch for grass types, rough play for fighting types, rock slide for flying and high horsepower for everything else. Didn’t like the defense drop of headlong rush. Just healed him til giratina came out and KO it. Then switch in zoroark. Love how the AI know not to use ghost moves. Was down to red when second form happened. Healed zoroark and he had origin form down by half before zoroark went down. Typhlosion finished it. It was an amazing fight and like everyone else I was shock at giratina doing his second form.
0:23 "You defeated me... WHO DECIDED THAT"
That transition animation to the next phase is smooth as hell lol
I love the "oh my god this took so long i'm glad its finally o-"
into the
"W H A T"
it does not get old.
You can never experience this for the first time ever again so these reactions are a joy to watch.
Man I was looking around for something like this to come along, good job
I remember that, with this battle, I was at first like “look at this man’s stupid hair, looking like an Arceus wannabe” to someone that I know(who already knew this beforehand), and they were like “careful, this is a 6v8”.
Even with that knowledge, I was still not ready for this full fight and it took four attempts to beat it.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Now I can rewatch everyone's reactions in an easier way haha!
good for u
As someone who lovesssss good music, the change to that sick guitar rift and that drop gives me chills every time
