It was a fun return to Europe after 12 years and a good learning experience for the players as they prepare for the Champions League. Everything is relative. After years wandering in the wilderness, Aston Villa are back, and we intend to win silverware.

In all seriousness, what exactly are the expectations for Ange at Spurs long term? Spurs won 60 points last season and have 63 points with one match remaining. Spurs have perpetually been 4th-6th without ever seriously challenging for the title going on 15-20 years. What exactly is success for Ange at Spurs?
Depends on what transfer budget they give him. They have got to back him now.
He says he's here to win the title. He's here to "bring success". He says he's come "here to build a team to win the league". Those quotes are his words. Spurs as a club DO have ambition, but people will do well to remember we have to compete against some juggernauts. And everyone else in the league too, as everyone seems to be improving.
To fans, we'd take challenging at the top and the odd domestic trophy. Let's see if he's backed and if he delivers on his "elite mentality" talk that accompanies his massive ego.

Also agree with Alan Brazil's take on not doing the easy passes , especially in the last third ,front three for a tap in has been missing, as well as shooting chances not taken, from the early season promise ? If can't get the players in or out to bridge the gap , the promising academy players still seasons away from stepping in, as season long starters, and being successful in the step up. Never thought players like Son deliberately hitting the goal keeper when he could just shifted the ball over him. Son scores those for fun. VDV ,Bentancur Porro and more players didn't even bother allowed City to score the first goal..I was behind that goal and even the fans were not bothered

Porro is a rubbish defender, and has great crossing and shooting, ange doesnt use his abilities enough overlapping, hes always pushed inside ' inverted'. Hed be better in a 352. Ange is naive, and as far as im concerned if he wants to dig out 'loyalty' of fans for ONE game in absolutely years, he can do on. Played a naff team v Fulham in league cup. Bad mentality

You realize football can be cruel asf. Just imagine having the best defense, score the most goals and still come up short. I cannot believe how a side as poor as this can be in 5th place. Porro is hopeless. When defending and one on one with an opposition player he NEVER prevents them getting their shot or cross in. When attacking he endlessly puts poor crosses and shots in and in midfield he continuously gives the ball away. Kukusevski's one footed-ness, endless ability to run into the back of players in order to gift them cheap free-kicks and his backwards and sideways style of play drives me insane. They are one of the WORST sides in the PL when it comes to 'playing out from the back' because their midfield quartet is horrendous. The much vaunted Son endlessly gives the ball away and endlessly SCUFFS his shots when one on one with an opposition GK. Johnson delivers one good cross in ten attempts...the entire side is HOPELESS. Vicario, van de Ven (as a centre back only) and Udogie are the ONLY players worth keeping !!

The craziest part about so many Spurs fans wanting their side to lose to City to spite Arsenal is they appear to have completely lost sight of the fact that their final match is against Sheffield while Villa play Palace away. And Palace are perhaps the most in form team at the moment in the entire league minus Arsenal and City. A large chunk of Spurs fans opted to throw away Champions League football over Arsenal possibly winning the title. Pathetic
