Great video again. Interesting to note at 6:20 there is a burning lump of coal near the track. Perhaps it fell through someones grate.

+Prowler901 Probably because he had the reverser at neutral and the throttle at zero, coasting so you only hear track noise.

1:17 Not quite the 614 I know... Yes, I'm refering to the C&O's only surviving 4-8-4 Greenbrier... :/

    A 4-4-2 Atlantic-type. Rare in live steam.

One of the steam machines sounds like a galloping horse...a clanky kind of sound. It comes around the bend at 8:45. Why is that?

Wow!!! This is Great!!! How much does a small locomotive coast, either steam or diesel and where can I get information on them? I can watch this video all day.

If you search Discover Live Steam on Google, they have a for sale page that will give you a ballpark idea on prices. Prices can range from 8-10k for a small engine to 50-350k for a large locomotive. A recently built UP Challenger ran the buyer $350,000.

I have still been looking at getting into live steam and decided to buy a locomotive that's already built. Do you have any knowledge of how Train Mountain is to newcomers to the live steam hobby?

HighlandWinterWolf I have yet to visit Train Mountain so I couldn't say. I have, however, been in contact with the gentleman who runs their social media sites and he seems very friendly.
