You really put this thing through the paces. Very thorough. Appreciate seeing the factory edge cutting, and also the transparency with touching up the ding. Any thin edge can get a warp, but that's the price you pay for higher performance of good shaping. I tend to cut a lot of aluminum cans, dowels, 2x4s etc. Kinda shrug knowing what the purpose of the sword is and use it appropriate to spec. Would never cut an aluminum can with my Huawei, that's what the beaters are for with the thick niku. Would recommend you try the Swordier 65Mn steel. So far it's been wicked tough, which is weird because it's among the cheapest.
Wicked appreciate that brother. Wanted to make sure I really spent time with it before giving it a recommendation or not. I agree with everything you said here. I have some DK blades that run the 65mn steel, I really like it, good edge retention as well as durability. The hamon it takes is killer too. @KF1
Ooh. Preview. Lol. You showed what the sword can do in skilled hands. After all you're hype, I'm excited. You're a real cutter. If I dig it I've got a few I'm gonna get. Definitely that tachi like daisho, a DH unokubi zukuri. And a s DH ahinogi zukuri with bohi. What? Habaki Change? That opens up so many more options. That was a deal breaker on so many of them. I've got like 20 windows open already. Lol.
Wicked appreciate that brother. I felt the same, ton of really good options, the leopard habaki killed a lot of em. The fact that they let you swap em out for one you like is awesome! @erichusayn
It will keal! lol I mean the cuts you were able to pull off with the factory edge are insane. Wear and tear happens, stuff comes lose it's a cheap sword so you can't expect it to hold up forever. I personally don't think cutting wood is abuse, I hit my stand all the time and I've never damaged anything.(by hitting the stand lol) But that being said it really depends on the sword and the wood lol. The sharper the edge is the more fragile it is, that's just the way it is lol. I bought the swords I did specifically because they had a reputation for being durable. And the work sharp puts a pretty robust convex on. With an edge that sharp a small roll is actually good! Rolls are nothing really, could be way worse. 🤘💀 thanks for sharing man and happy cutting
One hundred percent, the sharper it is the more fragile the edge, and this thing was screaming sharp from the factory. Got it out of it in no time and it preforms like it never happened. $155 dollar laser beam. @sinisterswordsman25
