i walked a lot of streets in rockford,il. singing this song and wondering why melord. i had just been told i had epilepsy. my job as a machinest was over and all of many jobs ended the same way. after 25 years and brain surgery, i was told that 57 neurologist in the mid west were wrong. a begnine tumor was removed from my brain. and seizures ended. sadly it was to late. family had suffered more than i. now ihave been estranged from all of them. i'm 71 now and still love them all.
J D was my favorite bass singer. He had a lot of problems in his life. The good Lord took good care of him and his problems. He was a very good Christian man. He is still being missed.
It was Connie Smith who took Kris to Hank Snow"s church. That is where he had a profound experience. Bless him for that. Jimmy Hall, I am not trying to one up you here. This is from a Ralph Emery show with Kris, Willie Nelson, Janie Fricke and one other guest I do not recall. This was Kris telling the story. I am so glad he wrote this song.
